  1. You da man, Dave. Thank you. If you have anything to contribute to a How To for the average dude here, I am looking for contributions.
  2. Actually I wanted a solid red background and the letters in white, but now that I look at it, it is perfect for low-vis camo jobs. Thank you very much. Long time since I've seen that on the side of my jet. I still would like to author a How To for the rest of the folks to make their own if you care to give me a few hints.
  3. Thanks for the responses. I have never made a decal, but I can try and if I document the steps, maybe others can too. I do some searching in our FAQ files and keep you posted. C5, Wrench, NFG, or others, if you have some suggestions, they would be welcome. I don't have any graphic tools other than paint, so, I suppose, that is where I need to start. Do I need something better? Suggestions? C5, how hard would it be to make a cockpit decal like you made Nikki that says, "Lt Col Tim 'Jug' Lyle" (red background, white letters)? I promise we won't be engaged either.
  4. What Did You See Today?

Hard to imagine, but itty bitty cheap cars with a loud muffler are still itty bitty cheap cars.
  5. The whole thread sounds like a candidate for the Darwin Awards........................!
  6. My, how curious.

Somewhere along the way, his priorities in life got tumbled. Hope he can get his feet back on the ground again before he is sitting in a cell thinking about it for a looooooong time.
  7. You release it, I'll fly it. Bitching and moaning aside, great job!
  8. Any more modern jet flight sim

My vote goes to TK and his kick-ass Third Wire sims for the reason nobody else has tossed in the arena. It just keeps getting better and better.
  9. Does anyone know where I can get the original Burma terrain by Edward for WWII PTO? Cannot find it here in terrain!!
  10. On a previous topic, in another thread, on another planet, in another age, somebody had a great recommendation on Explosions going on around you that you never notice. In addition to his recommended INI fixes, the instructions requested the user download the SamBurst.wav file. Seem to have lost the link. Anybody have it?
  11. Thanks a lot, Tailspin. Looking forward to looking over my shoulder.
  12. Everybody's a wise ass when your not strapped to the jet. Used to be a story about F-84s, which were notorious for long takeoff rolls, that the pilot had a grass container installed just ahead of the nose gear that he could release when he got nervous on an extended takeoff roll and scare the jet into the air. I think the Peruvian pilots discovered the same thing with their initial batch of Su-7s, very underpowered as well. Seems like they could carry ammunition for the guns and no external stores, including fuel tanks or one 500lbs bomb and no ammunition and make it off of the runway (Peru is high in the Andes). Any hiccups with the turbine or lack of micromanagement of the aircraft total weight and they were in the dirt at the far end of the runway!
  13. SLUF ruled in the CAS role until, big Moma, the A-10 arrived. Take the A-7F, available here, for a ride. Hoooorah! Talk about sexy!
  14. So Long and Thanks for All the Fish!

Have a good safe trip and thanks for your good work in Okinawa. Boundless expectations at your next post and, as we all know, you cannot stay away from here long. Look forward to hearing from you when you're settled in elsewhere.
  15. Air Force Nap Time

Did you notice that the crewmembers reported themselves, as they should. If they take them out back and shoot them, how many other security violations are going to go unregistered? I am of the opinion that the press just makes a big deal out of anything that deals with our nuclear arsenal. As they should. AF is just in the traveling spotlight at this moment and the timing is not good.
  16. Why, oh why would you finally figure out that the pilot cannot see to land and give him, what appears to be, a pop-up forward window? Why not give him one to start with? Engineers, you can educate them and dress them up, but you cannot take them out in public and they'll never fly in their products!
  17. Wow! Cannot wait, Gepard. Looks very well done!
  18. It's a boy!

Congratulations. Best to your bride and hopes that all is well with new son and mom.
  19. Can't believe no one's seen this snippet

The Blue Max, High Road to China - there are still some out there. It is just hard to stretch a Sergio Leone long stare into a 2 or 3 minute dogfight. Are there enough short people in Hollywood to do a Top Gun sequel with Tom Cruise. Even most of the female leads are taller these days. I can visualize Tom slow dancing with Gwenyth Paltrow whispering sweetly into the lower part of her boobs and her constantly whispering back, "What'd you say?". Could make a powerful scene???!!!
  20. BUFF Goes Down...Silent Post

May God welcome their souls to his loving arms. wpssgt, you keep a sharp eye out since about the only positive thing about something like this is to renew the hard watch against complacency. Keep safe yourself and bring them all home with you soon.
