  1. Kid says "Homework is slavery"...

It should be optional, if you understand everything, fine have your free time, if you don't and you don't take the time to understand things, well then you deserve an F. Thats how my college professor for math taught, did no homework, got an A. Reading the text is helpful, for anything that wasn't in the lecture, but 99% of all the homework I ever had was simply busywork, because of the notion that they have to give homework. I hate meaningless work, as its nothing but wasted time and additional stress. Edit: I missed the posts, my condolences killerbee.
  2. Kid says "Homework is slavery"...

I have to sympathize. Homework has always been, and continues to be mostly a waste of time and major stressor. Maybe its just because I learned things the first time I heard or watched it and didn't need to repeat it 300 times to remember it. There's a reason our kids hate school and learning, school would be infinitely less stressful and thus more enjoyable.
  3. They should toss in the Silent Eagle too! Someone's gotta consider it so we can make it for SF. Otherwise, I'd say the grippen or latest F-16E/F as not many are using either.
  4. Yeah, we need a campaign to utilize the modern aircraft that have been released on both sides. A Grippen and the new Tornado F.3 should go in there too! What would be the premise of the conflict though? Medvedev went apes**t over missiles in poland and the russians got as far as their old iron curtain? the black sea map would probably be more appropriate for a modern NATO/Russia conflict, which would also lend the excuse to being able to fly red aircraft on the blue side as ukrainian allies.
  5. Car on the fritz

Oh No! don't go blaming Florida's drivers on New York, native Floridian drivers are worse than Massholes(insane Massachussets drivers) My aunt down there totalled 2 cars in 2 months. But otherwise, yes, roads are a matter of survival down there!
  6. Car on the fritz

Yeah, thats why I wanted a Mini, you can get one that you is automatic, and manual control, but they're so damn expensive. And a new car isn't in the cards right now. I probably will end up with a civic, we found one online thats not too bad, has low mileage and is from a dealer (certified preowned and all that jazz) but who knows if it will even be there when we go to check it out.
  7. Car on the fritz

Yeah, between the traffic here and the number of maniacs on the road an automatic is the only way to go. Gotta focus on the road and everyone else and not my shifting.
  8. Car on the fritz

Hrm well my car is dead. The list of things to fix is long and expensive to the point of a new car is a must now. Argh! I really don't like civics except for the fuel economy and need enough HP to actually pass people or use the A/C. I don't suppose I can find a mini crapper for under 10k. Oh hell why don't I just get a blue f**k subaru wrx, then I can put 3lbs of gel in my hair, take steroids and look like the rest of my town and school, ie. that douche in the my new haircut video that everyone has seen. In a short lived surprise, I saw a 2008 convertible porsche 911 turbo listed for $2,400 alongside the other cheapo cars I was browsing through. Turns out in very small text in the bottom of the ad they were looking for someone to take over the lease, at $2,400 a month! No Hyundai owners here to weigh in on them? A used Sonata is about the same size, price and mpg as a civic, but isn't a civic (yes, I really really don't like civics).
  9. TK said he tried to keep the mappings about the same when asked about the F-4s
  10. Dammit! now I'm not going to get any work done!
  11. I'd already made a quick campaign for the scenario actually. Decided against releasing it since the prop planes had trouble with Oct 2008 patch, campaign intro text wasn't showing up and it used a few A-team planes. Want me to send the stuff to you?
  12. F-22 Raptor Cut today?

I agree 100% we need the capability for future threats, not just what we're fighting now. If a real threat comes our way, drones just aren't going to do the job. History tells us that whenever we think the era of something in warfare is over, the next war teaches us otherwise. Even with super BVR missiles and all aspect, off boresight short range missiles, dogfights will happen and we will eventually face a serious A2A threat. Just as defense "experts" thought dive bombing was no longer feasable with the "high" speed of early and pre-WW2 planes and that guns were obsolete in the late 50s/early 60s, we're going to need our conventional forces. History repeats itself, economic downturns tend to result in instability and war. and with the money situation in chaos, the 2007 paradigm that a war with a nation powerful enough to put up a real fight wouldn't happen because of the economic relations doesn't hold up as much. Let alone human nature. But by the logic of the wars we're fighting now, the decisions make a great deal of sense. I want to see more planes in the air, but the defense industry has needed a kick in the pants to get cost under control. Perhaps it will be enough of a wakeup call to get people to start keeping costs down (and keep R&D costs out of the airframe cost!) But the production lines should keep going (or the tooling preserved for quick restarting) simply to drive down that unit cost over time and to have the parts to repair the airframes even if there are fewer.
  13. if you can cut the power to a point where the flame goes out and you still have some thrust, head back to base immediately. Otherwise glide your way as close to friendly territory as possible, I can't quite pin down the exacts, but it seems the closer you are, the less likely you'll be POW or MIA.
  14. New Police cars?

Something tells me that a bently or bugatti veyron wouldn't quite fit into the budget!
  15. Dutch F-16 paint job.

That's right up there with the Golden Wings USAAC scheme they did. And found this looking for the scheme, the raptor and viper had a mutant child
  16. The gundata.ini in the main objects folder would be where to go, would be fairly easy to do, just a matter of picking different sounds and typing in the new name.
  17. WiC Soviet Assault

Not sure I'm terribly interested in a soviet campaign for it. Invading your home country in a game just feels....wrong, I'd like to see them continue the story after end of the first.
  18. WW3 Today?

some more ABL field tests anyone?
  19. WW3 Today?

They already put it off until saturday, so no. But at least I can be certain of what the simulated crisis will be in the Model UN security council I'm doing all next week Saw a hilarious news report, dear leader said they would shoot down any US attempt to monitor the launch! and they specifically mentioned mig-23s that were patroling. We could fly right by in a raptor and they'd be none the wiser! At least find a flanker and put some effort into it. Japan is likely to sh*t a brick no matter when they launch it (if it works). It'd be cool to modify the push too far modern korea campaign to 2009, but it doesn't work properly for me. Ah the joys of what-if?s in sims, WW3 on 15 different occaisions without having to really see the world become fallout 3's.
  20. WiC Soviet Assault

I'd like to see it done like Battlezone, a combination of shooter/RTS. I loved WiC as is, but I wanted to be down in the action.
  21. Not wanting meat is a fairly reasonable meal request and its odd they couldn't accomodate that, but there's just no excuse for breaking someone into tears.
  22. Gringo is actually a term meant to refer to white people, mainly americans. Cubans wouldn't be called gringos.
  23. Space shuttles probably wouldn't be terribly good in this sim, it is nothing more than the worlds heaviest glider in the atmosphere.
  24. Breathe...

Breathe in the air. Don't be afraid to care. Leave but don't leave me. Look around and choose your own ground. Long you live and high you fly And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry And all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be. Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun, And when at last the work is done Don't sit down it's time to dig another one. For long you live and high you fly But only if you ride the tide And balanced on the biggest wave You race towards an early grave.
