It's a cosmetic thing people have been asking about since the original strike fighters. Alot of planes use a seperate model for the seat and the canopy flies off when ejecting, it's been tried to no avail, but it seems like such a simple thing that could be done with ini work.

A simple way to avoid that issue all together, I have Nato and USAF for all american aircraft and both WP and Soviet for all russian made planes regardless of service. On another note, does the MF weapons pack contain everything from bunyap's and all the aircraft specific stuff that has been released with the plane?

I could have sworn the Nato fighters addon already had a flyable tomcat from a carrier. Did you get Nato Fighters 2 as well? On a similar odd note, I've never successfully added a unit to a campaign that was playable(or make an existing unit that wasn't, playable) I add the service and unit to the campaign.ini, it shows up on the selection starting the campaign, but the campaign puts me with a default unit/service. The simplest "make one of the soviet fighter squadrons playable" simply refuses to work.

The default burning sands campaign in the original strike fighters project 1 allows you to fly for a mercenary squadron, created and paid for by the prince (or whatever he is) of the made up nation of Dhimar in the spirit of the AVG "Flying Tigers" in China at the beginning of WW2. As for prices, the game automatically assigns them to all planes no matter who made them or how they are installed. How, nobody seems to know for sure actually, but I've heard it's based on the aircraft's range. It would certainly explain crappy prop planes being more expensive than high performance jets in many cases I've seen.

Um....what commies? there aren't any left. It doesn't matter who is in congress, new planes have to be paid for. The problem is how expensive our equipment has become, comparable enemy fighters like migs and flankers are about a third of the cost. The paper trail every nut and bolt needs has alot to do with it, hence the $500 hammers.

eh, I don't know if I'd fly a plane with touch screen avionics. They're a pain in the %%% enough just trying to get money out of an ATM or buying a train ticket. Trying to use that in combat, with gloves on would be a dangerous exercise in frustration.

I HATE that song! Maybe we should just ask for all our money back from LM and use it to just buy a fleet of superflankers. A kid playing C&C games would probably be better at procurement than the people we have doing it. They'd build a balanced force at least. hahahaha Well it has happened..... It'd have to be a deep snow to help at all. You'd probably be better off hitting the slope of a mountain and sliding down as if you were skiing, what I remember from physics class, the angle, duration of impact and surface area all affect the force so if you keep some vertical velocity going down the slope of a hill it's less force. And then the friction slows you down more steadily than a flat head on impact. You would be in really bad shape if you managed to survive a fall like that, ie both arms and legs broken, probably your back, all your ribs and plenty of internal bleeding. Not something I'd want to test out.
