  1. windows7

I have it running in Windows7 fine, although haven't got TrackIR to work yet but spent little time on it.
  2. OFF QC Lock-up

Mike, make sure you install the 1.30 update then from the workshop menu configure graphic setup See FAQ near the start http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#...on_and_settings
  3. Machine-guns controls

Currently it's set to 2 triggers in the aircraft config. Try firing button 2 otherwise. It used to be 1 button for both, another for just lewis. But thinking about it I think for P3 gun jams we couldn't have two gun types, so may be why it's just one now - so much has past it's gone a tad fuzzzzy.
  4. That's what we said in the email Oldham too "Try doing a Graphics Config, set to default, then put just your screen resolution in there and see if it work" But if you disabled resolutions too then ahem :)
  5. great fun maybe bycycle rides around to the nearest town and back?
  6. Nose dives

Missed your prev post wsmwsm, yes it's the flight model when set to easy/medium. We have only ever tested Realistic, and always said so. The options were only there as a legacy from CFS3 settings. AI only has been tested with Realistic. Otherwise we'd still be making this if we had to tweak FMs in 3 modes lol. We cannot fix MP UK W. It seems MP uses an easier mode for FM obviously, or the players connecting are on easy/medium. Check your settings, and maybe check your connection speed, not sure it's dumbed down due to that. If not everyone sees it in MP then that sounds like the case.
  7. AI stands for what...?

Something got screwed it seems, probably best to Reset CFS / wipe pilots and see if that fixes it.
  8. widescreen support?

Yes, that setting is for the manager. In flight you can also fly widescreen (once setup via cfsconfig or graphics setup in workshop).
  9. Nose dives

wsmwsm Can you provide what squad, date, craft, settings in QC, settings in Workshop?
  10. Nose dives

Depending on your joystick, each time CFS3 loads it may need the joystick centering, basically all controlls axis up/down/left/right etc, including throttle and rudder. My Saitek needs that, I just pause to do that.
  11. ATTENTION ADMIN!

PD The duff 1 is deleted now Thanks for doing them PD. cheers Pol
  12. Geez! Ground fire is way accurate!

Ground fire was dangerous if you fly low under 3000-2000ft expect every MG around to want to kill you. You have settings in Workshop if it's not to how you want to play but read here too http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=39221 Also avoid flying low when major offensives are on it's worse, or later in the war.
  13. This is way to easy

Campaign activity setting is in workshops
  14. PHASE-3 MISSION PAC

Hi PD nice one. One thing though in some of those it says <Unit ID="9549" Type="Bo60_Nieuport 17L" Skill="2" Payload="1"/> <Unit ID="9550" Type="Bo60_Nieuport 17L" Skill="2" Payload="1"/> I think these are still the custom ones PD?
  15. Everyone is trying to fix it, but without knowing the cause and if only 1 or 2 people get it likely it's something on the PC. What did you change in workshop? What controllers do you have? Try putting the flight models to realistic in the workshop if they are not.
  16. Installing Over Flanders Field

Hi Bevington, sounds like a bad DVD or maybe your DVD drive cannot read it for some reason. Can you try on another PC to check the DVD ? If it still does not work contact Avangate (see your order email) and explain you cannot read the DVD and need a replacement.
  17. Pol or Winder

Yes before the sight aimed upwards and your view was forwards. F6 was aligned. Probably luck if it lined up in your view. Now gun fires less up.. so sight aims down more and should align in F6 view not necessarily in VC normal view. Yes pre and post patch
  18. This is way to easy

It can happen, depends on lots of things, the scope of OFF is to produce a dynamic realistic campaign but also make an interesting flight sim. However the very fact it's dynamic and can produce all sorts of missions - it is possible you may not meet an aircraft for days or weeks or fly right by them as you did not notice. In 1915 - 1916 it was relatively quiet. Most people would hardly engage an enemy early on. Few squads, few flights, few attacking craft. Also possibly you are in a quiet region during a quiet period. As off is scalable for ground offensive build ups or know periods of extra activity in the air (as per our features page) so if no major attack in your sector it will be quieter. Also depending on your mission frequency if you are on 3 missions a day 10 hrs is only a few days. Try another squad, date/time if you want more action. Or maybe you have been lucky enough to pass flights by, or maybe mostly they have not gone your way. If you have target awareness dial showing, or labels on you may see more, at the expense of immersion. Otherwise as in real life you will fly past many craft you never realise are there. Also even though we have lots in there, we still do not have every single aircraft/squad ever active, so some areas may need an aircraft that does not exist in the game yet that could add to the quietness in some areas. We have made sensible substitutions in many places to help. It's difficult job to balance this - be historically accurate and also make it play well. If you want definite action join somewhere close to Flanders in 1917/1918 ;)
  19. DR 1 VS SE5a

There are various reports on it's climb rate, of course all with added questions, amoung the various figures I have seen 1200 f/m 1500 and 900 for example. 1500 was with a replica with a radial engine 165 HP so we can probably rule that out so I think 1100-1200 would be about right for the period, and to be considered generally a good climber. Also if it was relatively slow but still climbed well that too would give the impression it was better at climbing.
  20. Pol or Winder

Yes Rick it is intentional. No you did not become a midget. F6 is the view to use if you do not have Track IR in previous N17 lewis, and current. The normal default cockpit view is NOT aligned in either version, you have to move with TIR or use F6. In real life the sight actually aims upwards as the gun fires UPWARDS angle over the prop! Because the AI must fire directly forward we had to make a choice, totally correct as realy life but AI miss you a lot, or firing forward more. So changing it meant your VC sight would have been incorrectly lined up. So now it is aligned. We found a way to make the Bristol scout AI fire a 45 degree fixed gun now, so maybe we can revert at some point. But at the moment, that's how it is.
  21. In fog GFX setup query.

If you zoom your view this will happen too. The prop vanishing is a known issue player is too close to the Prop CFS3 engine issue.
  22. any french here ?

Perhaps someone can translate this for you but.. Try a different squad, date or time. You may have no nearby enemy squad for that date / time - as may be that the squads nearby, fly an aircraft that we have not yet made for example. "Workshop" has options for campaign frequency. Or enable auto / manual time advance and advance to the next day if you want to ? Player flight number can be increased in "workshop" too.
  23. "and burst into flames." It USUALLY ends when your craft is no longer flyable OR you are dead. Who knows maybe you crashed and survived. Just restart and fly another pilot? If you fly 100's of missions and occasionally something happens that you can't explain it does not mean it's a bug. Even if it was, it would be practically impossible to reproduce it to work out how to fix it. CFS3 itself will do the odd thing, as any computer program in the world would just restart and carry on? No idea on the float thing sorry but 1.30 fixed low level AI issues for some craft.
  24. Workshop setting for "Player Flight altitude" - change it to higher. The highest Allied flight flew 1-2k feet lower than the highest German flights in the war generally.
