Good series and an amazing undertaking too, it will probably take the same time as the real war did to make (a bit like WOFF, although that took about 4 x the war length so far ;) ).

This has come up several times over time. They are correct, they had French roundels. Good history init? See http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23234&garpg=5 " There were aircraft carrying French markings in service with the RNAS as late as mid-1916. "

There are no hidden brick walls, but it's possible he came down too heavy and damaged the gear or something else so eventually it stops or catches fire. Happens sometimes, they can also sometimes hit another aircraft on landing all part of the fun. We also very much try not to have them perfect like robots as many people were killed in landing accidents.

24 Sqn RAF aircraft should all be Vipers in 1918
Polovski replied to epower's topic in WOFF/WOTR - FAQ/Technical Issues
Thanks, Not sure if Shredward has seen it yet but maybe he will have some input on that one. There are new features to granularly assign aircraft to Aces in BH&H II too, so a squadron can have a very specific Ace aircraft assignment, may be the way to go.. -
Maybe do some basics, disable Xbox game bar thing as it probably got re-enabled. Check for anything running in taskbar that was not before. Try a reinstall of DX9.

Splashscreen Possibilities
Polovski replied to CastelEtzwane's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Hi, the screen is displayed twice, once is embedded in the WOFF Manager so not changeable. -

We chose Battle of Britain because we believed we could do a better version than many of the others that have been released over time, and BoF is such a short period, so not great to get a career mode going. Loved doing it and really loved making the Hurri and Spitfire. Now we are taking a little break at the moment, then will see where we are...

Indeed Catch I think before 1930s there was no sound in the world - except from church organs.
-
Internal view, bullet strikes are lessened a bit, but externally they are reduced more, also reduced hearing other AI being hit. If you want to hear more maybe you need to turn up effects and turn down engine in workshop, sound settings.

AI-Landing on airfield Le Clos Ferme/Boncourt, Marne with crashes
Polovski replied to Becker02's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
I just ran it here several times no problems at all. Could be the reasons I mentioned above. J15 June 1917 Le Clos Ferme/Boncourt . Have mods ever been installed? -
AI-Landing on airfield Le Clos Ferme/Boncourt, Marne with crashes
Polovski replied to Becker02's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Thanks we'll look into - but saying that you will still get some crashes from time to time, damaged aircraft, high winds and so on. As in real life many accidents in landing and take off are in there. -
Patrol Height for 'Ground Forces Support' Missions ?
Polovski replied to CastelEtzwane's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Aircraft are not as likely to come in low across the lines, too dangerous all round with ground fire. If you prefer, make yourself flight leader and go in low. You can be leader either by rank or option in workshop. -
Hi, not a lot of info there so not easy to fix. Something must have changed on the PC or in WOTR itself. There's several tips in the FAQ for issues like that try there. If no go still then send logs to support email address - see the last 2 pages of the WOTR FAQ on how to send the files (do NOT post here).

Wings of War, I was trying to push modding like heck way back then, to get a more realistic sim out of it. We partially got there. Yes that option was unrealistic but as gamer quite cool that you could leap to another aircraft in your flight when your aircraft was no good any more. For WOFF our runtime code (AI and so on) is in C++.

For the record (if this is Ricardo) this is sorted now. Ricardo found the solution involves Norton Anti Virus 'Life Lock'. If you receive a pop-up stating "suspicious activity", click on it and exclude the "action" .

No worries - btw I removed the drums and it's been released just now.

Hi everyone, a new update for WOFF to V1.13 is now available. Version 1.13 3 June 2021 1) Fixed a possible error at mission runtime that would sometimes occur for Aces with File Specified AC and Skin. Ensured that the associated Ace skin would be allocated if possible, or if no more aircraft instances available then the generic AC and skin is allocated. 2) Improved Aircraft instance selections for skin allocations to maximise the number of skins per craft type flying in game. 3) BE2c early version - Removed Lewis drums from Observer’s cockpit. Fixed some other small issues. Please see our Website for details.
-
Mainly because ever single tiny reaction has to be programmed for every single tiny possibility in a simulation - which is probably impossible. Hence, it's not real life :D A be2c upside down? Are you mad? Pretty sure you would avoid being upside down in a 2 seater for exactly the reason you mention. Lewis drums probably because it was made from the BE2c model that had a lewis gun. I could remove those sometime, one day, mayb - edit OK I removed from thje BE2c early so next time you can see blank wood instead ;) Your 32 "Hits" are because the bombs fragment. It counts all hits as you often can "hit" more than 1 object with a bomb. So hits > than the number of bombs.

3D clouds without flat 2D walls
Polovski replied to Buffin's topic in WOFF BH&H2 - General Discussion
Yes visually I think WOFF is one of the better sims in terms of clouds, but to change from the current engine it would need a 3D volumetric clouds engine and DX11. Most volumetric clouds in most sims don't look as good as the clouds we have already - that is one problem. It would take a very cool implementation to make them very realistic. -
Over the years I have helped roughly 27 people to start making models for WOFF. I think only 1 managed to actually (almost) finish any aircraft. To make it to a decent standard, with cockpit, DM, FM, textures etc takes some dedication. We never posted pics of a Bullet, as we do not have one ;) ... well yet at least.

Hi all, a new update for WOFF to V1.12 is now available. Version 1.12 24 May 2021 1) Fixed a ground unit collision avoidance issue for aircraft that are Going Home or RTB. 2) Removed some Telephone poles from a/g_generic_3 type Airfield facilities that would sometimes cause a collision avoidance issue with landing aircraft. Please see our Website for details. Thanks to AlbertTross for the image!

OK great MFair :). The pop up only appears on the first 3 times you visit the inventory (i.e. after a new install) then it does not appear again so possible you have visited there from time to time.
