Short answer no. May be possible in future but it's not exactly top priority. OFFLog has nothing to do with combat recording so ignore that.

Olham some people here like tea weak, but many others like myself do not and drink it as it should be strong so you can taste actual flavour of the tea ;) Tourist places often make especially bad Tea as they use bulk / cheap small tea bags too. Lewie I'm really not keen on the flowery teas prefer an Assam or for quick drink a strong brew of Yorkshire Gold :) (use two tea bags per cup often lol). Thanks for the comments Hellshade we'll post some pics as soon as we can got one or two tasty ones.

Lol Olham yes more TEA = more productivity :)
-
Morris of course we will do an update soon, when we can :). We don't have a webmaster, that's me so when I sort the web I stop my P4 work. We don't even have a tea lady Many teams complain about being "a small team" when they have 20-30 people - we are very very small team

OT: Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Seems strange to ban those things, I mean they didn't have computer games back in WW2 Olham :) FO3 super game - although I wasn't enjoying until I realised it had the VATS assit aiming . One of those games that gets better when you get deeper in. FONV is good but has a few more story and graphic glitches for me, also armour seems less "cool" so far but hey ho. -
Why do you want that gosd?
-
Maybe the ground gunners all put claims in too, and your CO laughed when you said no no they were all mine damn it.

Quick Scenarios are more difficult?
Polovski replied to Pawgy's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No Pawgy these are already setup scenarios for quickness - no messing with settings etc that's the idea of them. Of course others can create or edit the missions or edit the xml of ones already there to change the height so when you leap into one it's different. Missions as I think I mentioned before are by default in C:\OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\missions\scenarios and under folders for each country (so whatever country your pilot is created for will see only his country missions). -
Terrible what is going on there and I hope the Japanese people get all the help they need. One thing though considering they are sitting on a major fault in the earth and it is called the "Ring of Fire" as a hint, and given they have smaller quakes often, you would think they would have lots of backups for coolant stored in other locations, offshore, underground larger battery supplies or pumping facilities etc whaytever it takes. Nuts. Even without that quake threat there needs to be lots more backup facilities for reactors with other threats around.

Quick Scenarios are more difficult?
Polovski replied to Pawgy's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Possibly because you start at greater height in the scenarios. You need to quickly adjust mixture or drop to lower alt where your craft will perform much better. WW1 craft have very different performance at altitude, some are terrible. Many dogfights entailed dropping down onto your unspecting enemy rather than circling at 18k feet where performance would be poor. The DH5 was one example of a bad performer at altitude. CFS3 QC will usuallty not have friendly / enemy lines defined (i.e. everything other than your start field and start field ground units will be an enemy in CFS3 old QC). -
No don't jettison. You need 1) choose them as a loadout before take off. Some craft have Bombs + Flares combos or you can choose flares only etc. - mostly 2 seaters but some single seaters too like DH2 and others. 2) In flight select them first using Backspace key (default) to cycle through until the flare colour you want is shown. You need the status messages turned on to see of course otherwise press it once if you only have flares or guess/try pressing more if nothing happens on 3). 3) fire using bomb release switch (can bind to joystick) or press default bomb /weapon release = RETURN key.

WM has worked a lot on scenery and maps but I cannot comment on total object accuracy - hopefully if he sees he can comment. Some stuff as always is under wraps currently too.

As some see already in P3 sometimes you do find those reactions already. Yes it may be possible Olham, we are working on making AI even better for P4 and all these kinds of actions and decisions are being worked on where possible. Once that all works well then yes you have to add randomness. No promises of course for what it will or won't do yet as making good AI is notoriously difficult in sims and games. It has to deal with all possible situations and variable settings/aircraft etc. Also a computer pilot has to appear human too, the fact it's pretty convincing most of the time in OFF most of the time already shows what great work RexH has done but we hope the new stuff will be better :). -

Jim did you never try Quick Scenarios in OFF and choose 20v20 ? You could always edit some of the missions there and add more There are up to 225 aircraft in the air on their own real missions in OFF (can be increased easily in workshops and we can increase to more if necessary ;)). Obviously you are not going to pass them all at the same time in campaign across the front, but I have sometimes been in furballs with several groups all piling in over several minutes to make a huge group. If you PC can handle it try increasing air activity in OFF's Workshop and go fly when there is a major offensive on in 1918 in the thick of it regions? -
Glad to see you guys making progress. Don't give up BH you were getting somewhere. Hardest part of this is starting but the 2nd biggest hurdle is keeping going. Most startup modellers give up. Conrad in case you want to check external instruments as a matter of interest currently in OFF the DFW and Eindecker have external compasses on the wings when viewed from the VC (DFW is on the left wing, EIII right).

I've got GMAX, now what?
Polovski replied to Lewie's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Skinning / Modeling Help
Lewie I thought I sent the docs to get you going one tutorial goes over all the basics using the CFS3 SDK and Gmax and making a CFS3 compatible model etc http://www3.telus.net/murrdaka/tutorial/B2BNZ.htm which also links to this tutorial some good ideas in there http://www.simviation.com/gryphon/tutorials/gMax_00.htm In the past I used Bobo's script 42 for 3Dmax to export into Gmax but it will cause some things to go west like mapping etc sometimes. Also I think there's a glitch where objects vanish if they are named with 3 particular letters I have noticed corruption importing from other source programs but from 3DS Max is fine. but it's OK it the first letter of all objects is in capitals ;) Once you have P3 it will give you an idea, but check out the Screenshots of P4 for the sort of detail we'll require for future - worth a look. -

Without Track IR,,, best way to look around?
Polovski replied to Pawgy's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
You can't have a decent sim without having a zillion keys to do something or that can be customised ;). WW1 needs less keys than WW2 btw ;) Having said that default keys are OK, with one or two tweaks. There's also guides in your installation folder See the FAQ at the top for info on where to find (under "External guides and help:"), and other key guides. http://overflandersfields.com/FAQ -

Thanks Shred. Please keep it civil please or move to http://combatace.com/forum/46-wwi-flight-sim-discussion/ for other WW1 sim posts. This is where this thread should be. Similar rules are applied in other sites and forums about posting about other sims to stop mud slinging. Here are Dagger's comments on posting rules in that forum, so you can imagine here we are also concerned. http://combatace.com/topic/62290-a-few-ground-rules-this-is-for-all-sims/ -
I remember in the other great mostly forgotten sim F16 Combat Pilot it was similar but there were several techniques to avoid missiles, IIRC turning 90 degrees to the missile and rolling so it was above you then pulling hard towards it as it closed (timing was everything) and firing chaff or flares etc at the same moment. When you occassionally got close to see the other guys canopy it was a brief glimps, cannons were almost never used.

Historical Airfields in OFF - is that possible?
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Indeed Olham it's great when people spot gems :) -
It works unless you zoom in /out your view. So turn off the effect if it bugs you or you zoom/in out the normal view.

For the Devs....OFF crash
Polovski replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No that data is not useful, it is the other way round. i.e. OFF's mission replay encountered an error because CFS3 crashed and therefore data was corrupted. Likely video settings, maybe your terrain/scenery sliders are too high etc. Could be the new drivers use more memory or have different settings. Check the Video tips in our FAQ may help... http://www.overflandersfields.com/Tips.htm
