  1. You won't believe what bullet I dodged.

Never used that. I've came accross codes in the box or no DRM at all, before the age of non-physical gaming.
  2. Spam that was worth a damn

One of the finest aircraft ever made. If not the best in its role.
  3. You won't believe what bullet I dodged.

    What's that?
  4. Star Wars Screenshot/Vids

More or less one, with a propeller engin stuffed in the ass.
  5. Star Wars Screenshot/Vids

Why is there a boob on your pit?
  6. GoG did it again!

There was some TC project of Dark Forces and Dark Forces II under Jedi Academy engine, but they never really progressed.
  7. Homeworld 1 & 2 Remastered

I tend to avoid Steam at more or less all costs... Actually, I have quite a few concerns : - You don't own the game. I.e. no exe or whatever (IIRC). Gog gives you exe. You can use them and install them whenever wherever you want. - There are definitely a few things that bothers me in Steam agreement terms, like the whole "we can switch your account whenever we fancy" - I am an oldschooler.
  8. Does the A.I really uses RWR as a detection device?
  9. Basically a lot has already been said. Flying red, with no C.M and early RWR, I tend to fly low if I know I will face F4 or anything with a SAHM. Especially since the missiles have been buffed up. Still, they can be dealt with with manoeuvering. Late SAHM are very dangerous... Flying a MiG-21 in the 1980's, you'll fly low and attempt to engage with guns and IIRM. And modern missiles are deadly. You don't have any RWR ping because of game limitations and they are very accurate. Tree-top level it is. IRM are not a threat until the late 60's and AIM-9F/G. These can be foiled with manoeuvering and chaff. AIM-9L and followings, as Archers are killers. You can't do much but pray and manoeuver. Late game missiles are utterly deadly, but remember the game shines until late 70's-early 80's. It wasn't really modelled to portray Aamram and suchs.
  10. Well, the malvinas will indeed be argentinian.
  11. GoG did it again!

GoG Rocks. I've been in love with them for like seven years.
  12. Had this sexy baby in my hometown during X-mas break. THIS is a beer.

So, as of tonight: - the 3 guys are dead. And it seems they were, well, three. 2 in Charlie Hebdo and, the following day, Coulibaly who started its diversion rampage. He confirmed they planned it together : he was supposed to act as the others were pursued. - he arrested kid has been freed and seems not to be part of this. Still, he was under the services sights. "No smoke without a fire". - Coulibaly's bitch seems to be in ISIS occupied Syria. She was thought to be with him in the store according to some reports and having managed to flee. This was quite unrealistic as that point of Paris was under a total lockdown. And women aren't allowed to fight in islam. So the mainstream opinion was she was an accomplice, sort of helped her pimp to shoot the policewoman in the head and then fled. Quite foggy, but it's almost certain that she was not in the store.
  14. Salut! to the French GIGN!

Well, it's also true that Gendarmes are sort of more efficient because they are less prone to the civilian regulations. Especially regarding the use of force and firepower. Even if, we are in France and Western Europe, it's severly and often stupidly limited. As for G.I.G.N./RAID, the first group is said to be more efficient too. Well, they are military. But indeed, We are kinda satisfied with what we have and last decades attempt to make some fusion between police forces as well as to put an end to the gendarmerie failed. When you look at other examples (yes, Belgium, I am looking at you...), you clearly understand why. Still, we are (sadly) an unitary state, you are a federation. If I were a U.S. citizen, I would be a staunch supporter of the Posse Comitatus Act. The lesser the power of the central government, the better.

Yeah, sadly Coulibaly's bitch is on the run.
  16. Salut! to the French GIGN!

    Thanks for the link.
  17. Salut! to the French GIGN!

After a few researchs, there are english versions on DVD. Don't know if it's fully dubbed or subtitled.
  18. Salut! to the French GIGN!

I guess you will find some english subs. Actually, it's not that a talkative movie either.
  19. Salut! to the French GIGN!

It's our own system, quite complicated. Two or three services were involved : G.I.G.N. is the Gendarmerie special force (like a military police). Gendarmerie belongs to the army but has police duties in small towns and rural areas. Some of you guys might have met some Gendarmes in A-Stan, as they are the police for the army too. But some units do undertake combat duties and quite real ones. I've met a few who fought in Chad, for instance. Lots of joke on Gendarmes in France, but G.I.G.N.... These guys are among the best on Earth for such jobs. The civilian Police has its own units, the R.A.I.D. and B.R.I (that I did not know, but things change so quickly in France). Awesome guys too, but some say they are a little bit behind G.I.G.N. National Police duties are city-based. And some cities also have a city police (Police Municipale), that is seldomly armed and with few powers. Anyway, they did the job. And 66 million people are grateful today. I can only advise you the movie "l'assaut" based on 1994 Air France Hi-jacking. It's a very realistic movie, filmed with genuine G.I.G.N. members.

And we killed the bastards. Good job.
