Looks great! Saddly, my comp starts to show its age and is barely able to run ODS. I guess I'll have to wait for a new one to fully enjoy that awesome mod. -

I loved 79 in NF1-2. Now, it's 86 and 62 (especially since a lot of planes and squadrons had been added since NF3). 62 is great, with aces, guns, true planes in great paint schemes. 86 with the "at the throat" feeling. One thing that bother me in 68 is te MiG 21 pfm without guns used by the red. Not much of a challenge actually. -

I'm not sure TK will go that way, notably for chinese legal reasons. But modders sure can. -

Hey!! It's MY Bahayaev! -
Indeed!
-
All right, we got our group now! Do you guys think we still need a fan page, or is the group self-sufficient? I'm ready to make the fan page, but I don't want us to spread in too much directions.

Puce de Tassigny. I think it my work in french industry, if de Tassigny wasn't a so illustrious name. (Puce means flea, it was how my parents named a little dirty wandering kitty they welcomed back before my birth. "ma puce" (my little flea) is often used as an affectionned nickname, notably for feminine sweethearts)

Yup, Fan based should be ok. I might be able do it tonight (ie in a couple of hours) if you want -and if GF isn't too jealous of the comp' -.

@ Nesher: so, I'll build a combatace fan page. And what about a thirdwire one? Expect it in the following days. Oh, and you other guys I haven't added yet, it will come! Was more busy than expected tonight.

Thanks C5 for the Fulcrum sound fix. I found, by the way, another silent plane: the E3 Sentry! By the way, great idea this Aces things in 1962. Still in my Danish Hunter campaign in 1962, I met again that Bahayev guy above Hamburg... just to be downed the same way! So much WW1- knights of the sky-ish. -
All right, guys, what do you want for Combatace? a simple group? Or some "fan" page?
-
Don't believe a network will be possible. But a group or "fan page" will definitely be. I was actually planning to create one after work, tonight.

Yann Selosse, in France, if anyone is interested!

Weren't the aces supposed to be not visible when F6-ing? I can see them, and I'm not complaining of course. Oh, and that Bahayev guy got me... :blush2: -
Well, a year ago, I asked if Turtledove's Southern Victory books were worth reading, and some here told me to try it. I dit it, and it seriously rocked! Since January, I'm done with the 10 books of this timeline... And I haven't started a new saga since then. As I would like to continue my reading in english, I would like to ask you guys, from the US, UK, Commonwealth Kingdoms or other english speaking countries some advices. Something like Turtledove (or even other Turtledove's works) will do the trick: alternate-history; historical novel, sci-fi... Thanks!
-
Is Turtledove a "pulp novelist"? I know he is sort of a pope of alternate history, but how is he seen? I had no problem at all reading the novels, but my reading was strong already. My weakness is my spoken english (accent...so hard to emulate for a french speaker) and my writing as I tend to emulate french while writing (whereas I understand spoken english without difficulties now). The most difficult reading I made was Mary Chestnuts' Diary from Dixie. She used a style so different of what I'm used... But it was an awesome reading!
-
That's a good idea too! I enjoyed the master and commander movie and was told, at the time, that the novels were (as usual) far better. It's definitely on my short list.
-
Sounds sooooooo much like Erwin Rommel! Thanks for your advices! Well, maybe the Two Georges then. Axis of Time seems interesting too. I'm also wondering about Turtledove Atlantis stuff... I was also planning to start, at last, Azimov, but I'm afraid it might be a little bit tough in english, even if my reading is fluent now.

Nope, clean install and only NF packs. I just checked: USAF units are OK, but Netherlands' ones do have the very same problem of "no missiles". -

I'll borrow this thread: Playing NF3: after a new install and such, I met the same problem I had before my re-installation. F-16 units in campaign don't bear any AIM-9... At least BAF's ones. WAD or did I do something wrong?
