CF-151 (Rafale) * What-If
1977Frenchie posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File CF-151 (Rafale) * What-If Complete aircraft based on JAT81500 terrific Export Rafale Pack v1.0 : Fictional Royal Canadian Air Force Rafale Mod for SFP V2 (CF-151) This addon represent the folowing versions of the Rafale : - Canada (F3+ version) *** Same version as India *** Rafale EH Changed the roundel on the skins and the decals on this pack are made by me. Background : As the original Lockheed Martin F-35 Lighting II Canadian Procurement have been froze by the Liberal government after their 2011 election. It's been long speculated which fighter would replace the aging CF-188's of the RCAF. In 2017, the Liberal government announced the 18 Boeing Super Hornet would be bought as interim aircraft to fill the holes of the current Fleet of CF-188's so operational status can be maintained at 100%. As the tender for the replacement still went on, many manufacturers when on the line to win the replacement aircraft contract. In the year 2017, Boeing sued Bombardier (Canadian Aerospace Company) over a dispute on aircraft sales (CS-100's below cost) to Delta Airline. Many actors in Canada, USA and even Britain went to defend the Canadian Company that their was nothing wrong by doing so as Boeing did it in the pas itself (like Air Canada Boeing 787). The response by the Canadian Government was to initially re-think the 18 Super Hornet's order. On septembre 25th, the US court stated the Bombardier was at fault and a double 80% sale tax was then charged on every CS-100 sale to the US market. The Canadian response was immediate with cancellation of the Super Hornet buying. On september 26th, the Liberal's announced that a new fighter have been chosen for the RCAF. The secret have been well kept in the RCAF and government ranks. The announced was the cancellation of the F-35 Lightning II procurement and the buying of 72 Rafale C (same as EH model of the India Air Force) with armament, support and maintenance for a life span of 30 years. The Rafale C under the RCAF would be called CF-151 Rafale-C and would equipped the 6 Tactical Fighter Squadrons (401, 409, 410, 416, 425 and 433). The 12 first planes (serials 151101 to 151112) were delivered as early of 2018 to the 410 Cougars for training and transition of the CF-18 pilots. Then the other squadrons received their 12 planes each in late 2018- early 2019 time line. Here is the 12 serials per squadrons : 410 Cougars 151101 - 151112 425 Alouette 151113 - 151124 433 Porc-Épic 151125 - 151136 409 NightHawk 151137 - 151148 416 Lynx 151149 - 151160 401 Ram 151161 - 151172 1977Frenchie Submitter 1977Frenchie Submitted 09/25/2017 Category Rafale -
If you want a lucky story, i can tell you one! My wife have the good habit to drink water while working on her laptop and guess what happened... She hit the glass and water spilled on the keyboard. She react quickly but hey it's water! All of a sudden everything stopped working (motherboard shortage). While i was at work she called me to tell me this and told her to dry the surface as much as she could, unplug the power cord and leave the machine alone. When i got home, i could see water still in the button cracks. I opened the laptop, removed the battery get the air dryer and it was hope time... unfortunately nothing worked... I removed the HDD and installed it on my rig as an external drive and nothing was lost (phewwwww) :) So i let the thing opened for a week by the window so sun and heat would dry it out bo this did not worked either... I reinstalled the HDD and closed the laptop as it was a repair thing now. Plugged the power cord to check if the power button would light up and.... no... so it was dead. I left the laptop there for 2 weeks as we were going out of town and when we came back home... power light was on on the Laptop! Fired up the thing and it came back alive without damage!?! It's been 3 months now and works like a charm and a great lesson learned by the love one :)

bout 95% sure it's the Motherboard that failed. if it's the case the HDD will be safe. Just remove it and plug in another PC and see if everything is there. It happened to me on a 2 years old Laptop.

Animation from one model to another
1977Frenchie posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hi All, I started by taking the CF-18 plane and redo the painting in order to get the proper tones of grey BUT i would like to get the animation from the FA-18C model. I know the CF-18 is based on the same model, but what i don't know is if something have to be done in the LOD file or it's just a matter of line editing in the data.ini? Also, if i pull too hard on the stick at high speed, the CF-18 wings are ripped off and crash, but not on the FA-18C?!? I saw in the data files there is a G-Limiter on the FA-18 but not on the CF-18, is that it? So any input or something i have to show you the animation things would be fine (need the add the wing folding, ladder, canopy and fuel probe), if possible of course! -

View File CH-124 Sea King CH-124 pack for SF2 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Based on the SH-3D AND SeaKingMK41 made by Florian. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is the CH-124 Sea King as used by the RCAF for the SF2 series of games. The skins represent the schemes used by the RCAF on their CH-124 Sea Kings. The serial numbers in this skin pack along with planes numbers are real one's. You will get the following skins in this package : CH-124A circa 1963 CH-124B circa 1974 CH-124B circa 1991 * Note : I did not touched the model, so visually only the CH-124A 1963 variant will look like the real one. Thanks to Florian who made a change to my CH-124A lod, i am able to depict a CH-124B look alike as the dome radar has been put on the modified LOD. So unless someone is doing modeling work on this bird to add the RCAF goodies like the Flir, sunoboys launchers and a few other things someday, only the skins for the 1974 and 1991 variant will reflect the real birds. I HIGHLY recommand to install the complete aircraft as follow. COMPLETE AIRCRAFT : Copy the CH-124 Objects/aircraft folders content to your game aircraft folder. Copy the CH-124 Objects/decals folder content to your game decals folder. Copy the CH-124 Objects/pilots folders content to your game pilots folder. Copy the CH-124 Objects/weapons folders content to your game weapons folder. Copy the files in the CH-124 Objects files to your game objects folder. Copy the CH-124 Sounds folder content to your game sounds folder. Credits: - Thirdwire - Florian for the great SH-3D model AND SeaKingMK41. Canadian Hercules Coming
1977Frenchie posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hi All, After having done a few skin job on RCAF planes (along with creating ''new'' planes in the process) I went a mission the Canadian Hercules in the game. I started from taking the fabulous C-130 from Dels superpack and extracted the E, H and J-30 versions as they are the one's used by the RCAF. as Dels already made the CC-130H i only had to do the lines and rivets and make a ''clean'' skin (this is a personal liking here). So here is what i did so far : CC-130E - Created the 3 skins type used (White/Grey - Camo - Overall Grey). - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the E model. - Add some personnal decals made for previous skins. CC-130H : - Passing over the lines and rivets. - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the H model. - PLANE COMPLETED CC-130J-30 : - NO WORK ON SKIN DONE YET. - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the E model. - Add some personnal decals made for previous skins. As i will work all weekend, so further work will be done so far but thing are going pretty well. So might release a small Canadian C-130 pack in the next days/weeks. Here is a preview taken from Mue's Tool Box of the 3 CC-130E's schemes : THESE ARE WIP, EXCEPT THE OVERALL GREY -

Never tought about that :) Will make a check on this tonight and see if the problem is there. I also find on the original J-30 model made by Dels that there is only 2 scheme for it (both for the 307th RAAF squadron) but when going on the planning map you can select 5 squadrons, but the 307 is not there... Anyway, will try the decal level thing and see how it goes :) Next project is the CH-124 Sea King (per Florian SH-3D version). Already did the panel lines, rivets and lot of decals BUT is there a version with the nose mounted FLIR and the Black Radome? -

Okay folks, here is the project so far : All decals done for E, H and J-30 models. E model : Layers done for both early schemes and camo one. Lines are far more transparent now. Changes the grey for a lighter one on the early schemes. On the Camo one, extracted real color codes and came to a more realistic look. Grey sheme is complete (as i came from the H model). H model : complete J-30 model : Decals done, have to work on the skin itself now. Still a little things to correct on the E models, but here are Mue's view of them :
