  1. Okay, this is what i suspected. The ChangeTimeAmount is related to the ''jump time'' while in mission. The default is doing step time of 15 minutes. So let's say your mission starts at 12:00, you take off and you want to jump time while in flight, while pressins Alt-C time will jump of 15 minutes. If you change the value to 60, you will jump of 60 minutes and so on... This change is not related to the Alt-N (next encounter) and does not change in any way the mission time. It's just that if you are tired of day missions in campaigns, you can do some at dusk, dawn, night... As for the time Accel. that did the trick. Missions take less time (even tried at 24x for fun and tought my F-14 was an X-Wing), without compomising my flight log.
  2. Thanks Wrench. I know that by addind the MaxTimeCompression value i will now have an accel. up to 16x. But what does the ChangeTimeAmount value do. Is it the one while in game we can advance time (like day mission i want to play at another time like night? The longest missions i made were in Silent hunter, patrol took sometime 2-3 hours long (real time)...
  3. I installed Win10 3 weeks ago and SF2 worked right away without any problem (like everything on my PC except Kaspersky that i need to get the 2016 install file because the one i had was not supported, ran that and everything was up to normal when compared to my Win8.1. To ONLY thing i noticed Under Win10 versus Win8.1 in SF2 is the FPS that seems to be a little lower, but not that much. Besides that, no bug, no CTD, no Nvidia freeze.
  4. As i see it, it's painted over the USAF grey scheme and not the USN one (you partially see the U. S. AIR FORCE along with the plane number under the SEA scheme)
  5. If you don't get the mission call over with the RTB instruction, you already know you either failed or will get a partial success. Not only you have to destroy AAA, but you have to destroy the right one's (yeah that suck). I remember played a mission with an A-1 and destroyed many AAA and AA + SA-2 missiles then run short of rockets, bombs and bullets... My wingman have destroyed many ground targets also but i always targeted the wrong piece of enemy equipments... Of course, i play the game with no visual aid so it's always a guess. If you play with visual aid, on the lower left corner you will see for exemple M1939 (primary target), so you know who you have to hit or not...
  6. Hi All, This might be easy to solve, but i try to remove the orange bomb ''cross'' on the A-6 to make it more realistic (not the one on the HUD, but the one that is telling where the bombs will hit and that is ''free moving''). I did not took any pictures of what i'm asking (yeah i suck :)), but it work the same as the CCIP on new gen aircrafts.
  7. Experienced the same last night. Escort mission of an A-1 flight over hanoi (what a great idea). So my flight of 4 F-4B went on along them and cover them on the way. At about 25 miles from waypoint i let them go on with their mission and stayed on station in the way for their return. Then i heard they were dropping their bomb so i went to met them at the intended waypoint but i saw on the radar that they were going in the opposite direction. We flew toward then to see what was going on... By chance, i put all three fuel tanks on our birds so we had enough fuel to stayed there. I cut throttle to reduce fuel usage and at some point give a return home to the 3 others F-4B before beiing Bingo (they dropped their fuel tanks on A-A engagement). So i stayed with then way long to realise i have to egress myself before running short of fuel myself. I landed on the carrier with a reading of 25 on the internal fuel gauge :) And they never turned back and mission have never been called over... So i accept the failure but this was annoying.
  8. Fire Bombing

Always impressive to see these CL-415T in action (and sometimes the old CL-215). I'm from Sept-Îles (Québec) and had the ''chance'' to see them in action over my town a few times. Last summer, they were taking water from the river not very far from my house and they were approching the river with my house as a reference point. The sound they make when flying overhead at about 400 feet (can't tell you the eyes of my 1-1/2 year son when he saw them)... Also, there was a fire near town in 2013, i invite you to go see the following link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpZ4bWxa3p4 It's great to see them in action, but not so great when you know why.
  9. Hi all, This might be easy to solve, but i scrath my head on this... Sinci last night, my Skyraider engine sounds like he have drink a Redbull :) I checked the engine sound attached and it is still ''A1Engine''. I went to the sound file and listen to the ''A1Engine'' sound and it is like it is supposed to be. I changed the linked engine sound for ''RadialEngine'', get back in game and the sound match (it even sound better IMO). I changed back to the original ''A1Engine'' and still the same problem... Is there another place that link the engine sound to a specific aircraft? For now i will stick with the ''RadialEngine'' sound as i personnaly like it more. I did that after having the TomcatSP and Hornets packs.
  10. Yeah wrench, i discover with time (and sometimes with your help) that files are becoming problematic sometimes without any warning and or explanations :) After having played here and there with the installed files, I found my problem. The JetEngine sound in the hornet package was the problematic element :) I removed it just to check and the old skyraider engine sound came back... So i only change the engine sound file for the hornets in this pack with the one i use for my CF-18 and voilà! Everything is back to normal
  11. Got back on SF2 after changing my old laptop (could no have a decent image ans FPS rate). Now i'm flying quite often with full details and FPS to the top (5 merged install + NA exp. + NAM exp. + dozens of here and there packs). I have log about 700 hours on SF1 and i reached the 500 hours mark last week on SF2.
  12. A few of my own : 1) Following a Mig-17 on gun pattern onboard an F-4 and been shot down by my wingmen sidewinder. 2) Call my wingman to bomb a target only to be rammed by him because he accelerate and turn right was i was slower and flying straight. 3) Too low on my bomb run, did not drop my bomb because i knew i was going to be blown out or damaged, but never think of the 8 F-105 in charge of bombing the target next to mine and... 4) Shotdown by one of the aircraft in charge of covering us when he was Gunning an enemy and i got in the bullet path. 5) The most funniest i experienced. A-A kill on a Mig-17 with a dropped MK-82 :) Onboard an A-6 i dropped my bombs while a enemy flight of Fresco's were inbound at my 12. They were at about 5k and me at 10k and magic :)
  13. Hi guys, For the first time in years, i dropped a Mk-28 Nuke (1MT) just to see the effect of it. I tried in at the oil field South of Jarimin on the desert map. Once back on the debrief screen, my score was -28 930 :). So tried back and this time got 32 290... I even went over the same target and did a standard attack with a score of -13 200!?!. I, of course, achieved my mission with success before doing so. But how come the score margin on 2 exact same way of doing the same mission can be of 60k points? The things i attacked are mainly the POL tanks, but with the Nuke, well, it's everything anyway... Anybody have a clue?
  14. Okay, i checked the value of every target and nothing can explain to me the -30k or +30k point thing... I guess that it depends of the HQ mood when doing this :) And i do agree also with Colmack.
  15. Wrench, i looked in the terrains menu and find the mosque.ini but i can't see no points value to that : [LOD001] Filename=mosque1.lod Distance=10000.0 [shadow] CastShadow=TRUE ShadowCastDist=500 MaxVisibleDistance=5000 I assume i'm in the wrong file... I don't find any ini.s related to mosque in the Groundobject folder...
  16. I did it again just to check and here is a list of things destroyed by the nuke : Fuel Truck and some AA, AAA Oil Tanks (35) Oil Pumps (12) Oil Drills (7) Watch tower (1) Water Tower (3) Barracks (8) Tents (3) Fire Station (2) Machine Shop (8) But no mosque or other civilian building other then the Fire Stations and Machine Shops... is the Fire Station or Machine Shop objects have point penalties? How to know what can't be destroyed? (where is the file with the object ''points''?
  17. I will have a check on the Mosque thing as it is probably that as there was no allied aircraft in the last zone and my wingman was RTB for a while then.
  18. I prefer fly Under the hard setting as air to air combat are more challenging. But was, the aircraft physics are strange on some aircrafts. As to MrGoTime who said to never ran out of fuel... Are you doing the ''skip thing'' (Alt-N)??? If so, that is nrmal as there is no fuel consume by the plane on the time period skipped. BUT, if you accelerate time (Alt-T), whatch your fuel levels as you will in fact have not more time to waste over the target. I laught every time i get involve in an air air dogfight only to break away from combat in order to have enough fuel to make it home and the engine is shutting down on final (no fuel left)... The trick, fly high with throttle to about 45-50% (don't forget the drop tanks for longer missions!).
  19. I think the code is ''YO'' and not ''XO'' ''YO'' code was assigned to the No.1 Squadron RCAF (Canadian) and flew Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain. Their radio callsign was CARIBOU. Great paint job, like many of the RCAF Hornet demo team!
  20. Don't know if i'm in the right topic... Have some sort of problem wih an aircraft tonight.. I can't fly the A-1 skyraider anymore (campaign or single mission). I took a look at the A-1H.ini and so on and i have these lines : [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=A-1H Skyraider AircraftShortName=A-1 AircraftDataFile=A-1H_data.ini LoadoutFile=A-1H_loadout.ini UserList=A-1H_UserList.ini I know from a ''clear'' ini i should have : [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=A-1H Skyraider AircraftShortName=A-1 AircraftDataFile=A-1H_data.ini LoadoutFile=A-1H_loadout.ini UserList=A-1H_UserList.ini CockpitDataFile=A1_COCKPIT.INI LoadoutImage=A-1H_LOADOUT.BMP LoadingScreen=A1USN_Loading.jpg HangarScreen=A1H_Hangar.jpg AvionicsDLL=Avionics60.dll AvionicsDataFilename=A1_avionics.ini So, usually and just copy and paste and i'm back in business, except that now it is not working. I copy/paste the lines then save. Get back in the game, aircraft is nowhere.. get back at desktop and have a look at he ini file and... all the added lines are gone... Anybody have an idea what is wrong there? The problem only occurs with the A-1H / A-1H_67 / A-1J and A-1J_67...
  21. Once again Wrench, i learned something from you :) I tried the ''B'' plan by copying my inis that i know were okay ( i keep a copy of my AI made flyable aircraft because i hated when the engine compromise my work). But i now added the ''read only'' feature on my files and it is now working back! Once again, i salute you sir!
  22. After making the skyraider flyable in various campaigns, i thought i might do a Rolling Thunder Campaign with the old reliable spad (god i love this plane). After installing the great SF2V Expension pack a long time ago and flying different aircraft, why not? Could be fun :) So i went for it and the first 4 missions were pretty easy as they were concentrating on the South portion of North Vietnam (no big AA and AAA threath out there). The fifth was, well, the hardest so far... Having to bomb a bridge in Hanoi with an A-1... Who asked this mission! :) Well, i planned to breach in a zone less covered by the enemy, only to be fired upon from everywhere by everything 10 miles from target (they even throw rocks at me, i swear!) I bombeb the target, missed, AAA got me pretty hard, wingmen been destroyed by flak... I managed to fly about 15 more miles then a Fresco joined the party, put me on fire and.... I bailed out and made POW... It's only a game, but the adrenaline was to the top. So hat's off to those REAL pilots in real war who faced danger at every mission.
  23. Spam that was worth a damn

Ah, the great tank killer... I've not seen much of them (as i am Canadian), but when i have to saw one i always find the beast impressive. Just the muzzle of the gun don't want you to put him mad :) And the sound it do when on a low level pass... Years ago at Bagotville airshow in Québec there was a formation of 4 coming in for static display and before landing, they ''wave off'' just to do us a little glimpe of combat manoeuvers and that was just ''wow''. I'm always sad to see such a dedicated purpose aircraft about to be retired without any aircraft dedicated to the same mission... You can't beat the bad guys with bombs only, sometimes of have to shoot at them real close and this is what this aircraft have been made for!
  24. As for myself, i use two option : If flying low : Cut throttle, break by doing a hard turn, then full throttle after having turn of 90 degrees. I then turn on the opposite direction with throttle to about 50%. So, in a way i'm doing a split s manoeuver that have two effect : 1) Evade a missile (i have about 75% of success by doing so), 2) enemy will overshoot me by going too fast and the chaser will become chased :) If flying high : cut throttle, turn upside down and do a half loop. Then get the hell out of there. If you do some hard manoeuvers, there is chances that the missiles won't be able to keep it's track... Unless it's an AIM-54 that is coming your way... I never evaded them :) But sparrows are a real threat, but not 100% hit on me :)
  25. I saw a lot of funny/weird things in SF2, but i encounter this one for the first time last night. I was coming back to my aircraft carrier with fuel enough to land (yes, i screwed on fuel management thanks two a for ship formation of vietnamese Fresco's :)) Everything was fine until final approach, 3 miles for the carrier when i saw that ''something'' was in the way between me and my carrier... See for yourself! Result, wave-off and ended by ejection after having no more fuel... Thanks skipper! hhahaha
