F-14 VF-31 custom skin
1977Frenchie replied to RustyKurnass's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I thought about it and my idead was ''stupid'' as you already have it in the campaign :) Then seems like a ''jump'' in the texturesetXXX sequence like it happend to me with the L-39 in my Red Flag campaign... I don't know where the skin you have by default stands in the sequence but might have a look from the one you have by default and go up to the new one you made. There must have an error in the sequence or something... -

Don't know if it has something to do, but did you put the entry in the CAMPAIGNNAME.INI too? (not the CAMPAIGNNAMEDATA.INI) [USNUnit001] ---- Name taken from another campaign, could be different in your folder :) AircraftType=F-14A_82 Squadron=VF31 ForceID=1 UnitID=1 ---- Validate entry, check in your CAMPAIGNNAME.INI file. Add your squadron and assign a UNIQUE number there StartDate=09/29/1996 DescFile=CampaignUSNF3Desc.txt StartText=CampaignUSNF3Start1.txt -

Wow, great work mate! Wish you fun with decals for the RCAF Mk.6 birds as there is a lot of squadrons and a lots of decals variation in their service time :) Might worth for you to take a look there : http://silverhawkauthor.com/canadian-warplanes-6-jets-canadair-cl13-sabre_676.html A lot of visual reference, but i'm sure you already have a lot on hand :) Keep em coming!

Fuel usage and landing
1977Frenchie replied to alexis99's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah, time jump is what it is... a jump time that's it... As for me, even if anyoing to some, i never jump time and fly from start to finish. You have to really consider how you will be doing your mission and give you enough fuel to dogfight or evade a lot of AA/foes over/near target. I ran out of fuel a few times (one time i came short on CV cause no fuel at all at about 1/4 mile from CV) :) But always remember this game is not a hardcore one and you have to put aside some real life things :)- 1 reply

Redemption story
1977Frenchie replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
As for me, the Voodoo... I can't recall how many time i crashed caused i pulled too hard on the stick or getting caught in a dogfight and went outside the flight envelope, and i do not talk to stalling at take off :) Then i went on to practice the thing and how to use it in different situations and i manage to get the best out of it. When i want to relax, i always jump in one and have a fun flight :) Do not expect a good AA fight or level bombing as it's an interceptor, but a hell of a fun to fly! -
NormalMissionRateDeviation
1977Frenchie replied to m275500's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I think it can be done as in the ODS project i think some mission start early in the morning but i do't know where this have to be done in the .ini's. But you can manually change the time of day while on mission. Check in your options screen (can't remember what it's named but it will be something like advance time). -

Another run over North Korea that went well. Tasking of intercepting a flight of Yak-9P over the DMZ and it's pilot decided to play chicken. So head to head we went. I shot him down but even if i was still in the air i knew that he hit me too. Quick outside view and : Then a Fagot-B hit me too and now i can tell the damage handling is ''cough, coug'' real :) But hey, if it flies we still go on... Went back to base but did not check the airspeed indicator and now the right wing went on it's own project : Anyway, made it back on land : Only to be told again i was dead. -

NormalMissionRateDeviation
1977Frenchie replied to m275500's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
If i have it right : NormalMissionRate : days that will separate your missions NormalMissionRateDeviation : days that your mission can start after or before your NormalRate value. So., if NormalMissionRate is set at 30, this means 30 days will past from one mission to another. If your NormalMissionRateDeviation is set at 10, this means your mission will start from 20 to 40 days between them. If NormalMissionRateDeviation is set at 20, this means your mission will start from 10 to 50 days between them and so on. -

Decided to make a mission over North Korea and usually the flak is all around my plane but this time i got hit with pretty severe damage over the DMZ... Lucky enough, plane was still barely controllable and allied airfield was in sight A bit overspeed on approach but that way the plane was less drifting and barely responsive to controls. Put the airbrakes out to slow down at last moment And landed the wounded plane back. Only to see on the debrief screen that my pilot died... He should have sh!t himself out after all :) -
Campaign's maximum number of missions
1977Frenchie replied to m275500's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
On my side : WWII and up to Korean war : 30 missions max Korean war : 70 missions max Vietnam campaigns : 50 missions max All others : 25 missions max I keep a track of every campaigns i made in the game and my completed rate is very low (around 10%) as i rarely get through the campaigns as i get MIA/KIA before end of rotation :) -

In the year 2032, the Province de Québec separated from Canada and became an independant country. The following year, a newly form army known as the ''Forces Armées Indépendantes du Québec'' was born with only 2 branches, Aviation and Army, for a beginning. The RCAF remained in the province after an agreement to defend the northern part of Canada but Québec bought a dozen of the latest Rafale variant after an agreement to build them at Montréal at the Bombardier plant. In 2034, the 1ère Escadre was formed and received it's fighters under the ''Harfand des Neiges'' designation. -

A ''what-if'' RCN F-2H2 of VF-870 (with VF-801 bird on image 000001). RCN really had Banshee's (39 total), but they were F-2H3. Thx Veltro for this Banshee! -
