Two questions: TK's F-16 and F-15
MigBuster replied to gerwin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
1. Tail base was too long, 2. cockpit reflection was wrong, 3. A port on the stbd side of the nose didn't need to be there. http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7417 -
Thats ace - surprised amazon havnt noticed The cable knew where to go, and hooked itself into the correct ports without help from me - all the while, the choir sang praises to the almighty digital god. With trepidation, I pushed "play," and was instantly enveloped in a sound that echoed the creation of all matter, a sound that vibrated every cell in my body to perfection. I was instantly taken to the next plane, where I saw the all-father. I knew with my entire soul, that all was good in the world. But then I realized the cable was blue, so I only gave it one star. I hate blue.

TRACK IR 5 NOT WORKING
MigBuster replied to alopezfx's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Assume you have restarted the PC since installing Track IR - if not do so now. Check the things in here: http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6722&p=41786&hilit=TRACKIR#p41786 May be worth checking natural points site also - I have rarely seen TrackIR problems so the only thing I can suggest is - Try this (which Im guessing is in Vista): Right click on the SF2I shortcut -> properties ->compatibility tab - tick "Run this program as admin" -
Probably some truths in there - the lack of young English players coming through now is worrying - never used to have that problem! Some people might say that kids prefer to play football on the Xbox etc - but thats not really the case - the kids are still out there and good enough if given the chance. So yes the Premier League - something else we sold off to the highest bidder

You sound confident Silverbolt - I think its going to be close - penalties anyone? And back to the US now where David Blaine is said to be gutted - his record for wandering around a box doing **** all, was recently broken by Wayne Rooney.

Is anyone still Interested in this Bird ?

tutorials for sf2? How to take off, etc.
MigBuster replied to feldwebel's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Use of weapons comes from articles and an interest in aviation books I suppose - thats what TK bases some things on (as well as math)- ie judging reliabilty through combat records etc etc. Nobody likes writing documentation so unless TK decides to add more in then its down to someone else so its probably not going to happen. The SF2 manual does have some weps info http://www.thirdwire.com/man/sf2/Strike_Fighters_2_References.htm#Air-to-Air Bunyaps weapons delivery manual might help http://bunyap2w1.com/SFP1_Wiki/index.php?title=Weapons_Delivery_Manual A-A tutorial http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_061a.html Try to use 60s jets like the F-4B/C/D / F-100D mostly. A TrackIR is essential for looking around and zooming in on objects. The Falcon 4 AF manual was about 500 pages long but most of it on fighting and avoiding missiles is truly useless information - that comes from searching forum threads/flying in online squadrons/reading books. btw - Its in everyones best interests to search forum threads - most things have been said over and over. -
TRACK IR 5 NOT WORKING
MigBuster replied to alopezfx's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Does it work okay with other games? Does the light on the IR receiver come on? Make sure you have no light sources directly behind you. What version of Windows are you using? -
.LOD files...
MigBuster replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This might help If you are moving the old A-6A cockpit from WOV to SF2V - you need from the object.cat 1. All the A-6 pit files - A-6A_pit.lod, A6_pit1.bmp, A-6A_trim2.bmp etc.............. 2. You need these too: angle_of_attack.bmp radar_gauge.bmp vdi_component.bmp altimeter.bmp clock.bmp rate_of_climb_indicator.bmp f-8e_pit1.bmp gauges15.bmp integrated_position_indicator.bmp power_trim_a.bmp phd_numbers.bmp accelerometer.bmp fuel_quality.bmp dvi2.bmp -
Spain 1 Portugal 0 - they are going all the way!

Looks like this bloke has something against vuvuzelas as well
-
Its more to do with having ex and current Liverpool Players in it.
-
You got that right - and now the same old, bring in new players blah, we need to revise the coaching system at grass roots blah blah etc etc - its the same thing every 4 years or so - the FA is rotten to the core and has been for some time - how else do you explain the lack of performance from these players who week in and out are top class at Club Level - Even Frank Lumpard got over 20 goals from midfield this year at the highest level!! Can you name 1 Manchester Utd game where Wayne Rooney had a game anywhere near as bad as the 4 in an England shirt!! Admittedly I think Jamie Carragher would have done a much better job than Upson - who clearly is not good enough in that role. I only see things getting worse from here - the really good English kids seem to have football coached out of them at a certain age and transform into some kind of FA programmed robot! Only when this stops, and English clubs are forced to play English kids (who are good enough) at the highest level then this will stop the current decline in the direction of the other British Isles Countries. Anyway I think I will copy this and save it for the next World Cups when still NOTHING has changed!!
-
Maybe - but you will be surprised how one goal can change the game, and the way the teams come out for the second half. Germany looked good - but it was more a case of poor defending against basic counter attacking. Once you have to go all out attack you are exposed like that - but most teams don't just fall apart at the seams. Their first goal was a prime example of bad defending - no one touched the ball until the last 15 yards from the goal kick!! - you might see that in Sunday pub team games - but if it happens at this level there is something very wrong.
-
I will go for Spain now - I expect great things of them.
-
Yeah - I think that might have been a waste of time GwynO - shockingly bad defensive display and the heaviest defeat ever in the WC finals!! Germany were very lucky not getting that other goal given which should have taken it to 2-2 - but no excuses for the England defence that were all over the place time and time again.

Does 3ds max work if you install it outside Program files which is now protected in Win 7? forget the HDR mod - the current one only works in DX9 I think - you shouldnt need it with DX10. -
Why so long for F-18's and F-16's to carry AGM-65
MigBuster replied to malibu43's topic in Military and General Aviation
Its actually an F-16A airframe upgraded to MLU standards (similar to the RDAF/RNLAF/BAF F-16AMs) which have some avionics comparible to a block 50. It is not an F-16C - note the lack of extended base section on the tail and antenna. Also I believe it uses the less powerful 22,000lbs thrust F100-PW-220, Block 50s use the 29,000lbs thrust F110-GE-129 http://www.f-16.net/f-16_users_article19.html -
Just saw the US v Ghana game - a very tough, tense and even match that could have gone either way!
-
How long have you been playing the game, and what level are you set at? Have you played the 1917 campaign on the allies side? - with everything set hard it was okay for me - got through it okay several times. check your 6 constantly - particularly if you are going after another plane.

Why so long for F-18's and F-16's to carry AGM-65
MigBuster replied to malibu43's topic in Military and General Aviation
AFAIK the F-16A ADF was the only F-16A in USAF service to actually use the AIM-7 operationally. Not sure if Italy rewired them for Aspides (they probably just used AIM-120s - I would) However Taiwan has the F-16A Block 20 - shown with 2 AIM-7s: The person above may have been coming from this about all Block 15s: The AN/APG-66 radar on the Block 15 Fighting Falcons was provided with an early version of a track-while-scan mode for greater air defense capability. The F-16s were also equipped with Have Quick I secure UHF radios, and internal provisions for the AIM-7 were made. Additional structural strengthening was performed to allow an extra 1000 pounds of ordnance to be carried on the underwing points. Last but not least, pilot comfort was enhanced by improving the cockpit air conditioning. http://www.f-16.net/f-16_versions_article3.html -
SF2 etc etc
MigBuster replied to russouk2004's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
depends - its not down to the card - the HDR mod will work if you run the games using DX9 - ie the first series ones and SF2 games not using advanced shaders or on Win XP. I can run the HDR in Gen 1 games on Win 7 64 and an ATi card But for SF2 games i crank up the settings and makes sure its using DX10 - in which case the HDR mod is not required anyway. -
Help for a new modder
MigBuster replied to Shoot2maim's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
You need to merge a couple of files together using the correct weapons editor for your game version - which I assume is Oct 2008 if you installed the latest patch from 3rdWire?. Have you found the weapons editor program (which I assume is in the weapons pack) and can you open/run it? -
