Yep - create a folder called cockpit, extract the files you need from the object.cat then put them in the cockpit folder. err the level you set your game at in the options determines the avionics you get - there will be easy/normal/hard - if you get a radar that sees 360 degrees around you then thats easy for example. -

F-4 RWR
MigBuster replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The B/D were used up till the end of the war and must have been upgraded at some point - have a RIO account of firing out chaff in an F-4B on account of the warnings he was getting(1972) The F-4C seems to have been replaced by the D/E by about 1969 so not sure on that - but a pilot says when trying an ALQ-71 for the first time in Jan 67 he was worried about the cloud over Hanoi not giving them much of a warning if SAMs lifted off - doesnt partcularly mean they didnt have any audio warning tone though. -
Glad someone likes it over here - did you enjoy the rain? actually temperature today is whopping 25 degrees C - no sun though - just a thick layer of grey clouds was that the IWM in London - or did you get out to Duxford? http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/?PHPSESSID=fdf06...9fb21baeb7699a8

weapon adding problem
MigBuster replied to cora's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Not sure what you are doing here - make sure you have a single Weapondata.ini only (In the "weapons" folder)with ALL the weapons in it - then open that up with the weapons editor and hit save. -
help about sparrow missle
MigBuster replied to Mohamed's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Heres an old article on the original Strike Fighters A-A employment that may be of help - should still apply when using sparrows with the F-4 in WOI mostly http://simhq.com/_air/air_061a.html#top The later AIM-7F and M are more reliable as you would expect. -
Trouble with Weapons Editor
MigBuster replied to PIGHUNTA69's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
So you click the "Open" button in the weps editor - then browse to the weapondata.ini - then what happens? -
Yeah theyve been hitting us with adverts similar to that for about 4 years now - dont know if its improved anything though.

New to W.O.I
MigBuster replied to BarnesNZ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hello there - WOI is being released as "Combat over Israel" in Europe if thats what they were on about? - for other games this series look at my sig - they all use the same engine to a degree so a lot of the mods can be used in any of them (though not all) With WOI the flight model has been revised a lot so some of the older planes you find on here may not fly so well until they are upgraded. -

Ho Chi Minh Trail
MigBuster replied to snapper 21's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
I think but not 100% Armed Recon uses the routes in the movement.ini file - you will see they are mostly North of the DMZ the default ones - and they only work in single missions in the current WOV version AFAIK - would have been nice to have them in my campaign - but possibly after the patch. You could certainly place static objects using the targets file in the correct locations if you have the time - and the dynamic engine would give you strike missions to the locations randomly (if you are lucky) - or just do lots of single missions of course. In YAP there are quite a few HCM missions. -
Trees add lives to WoV

Assuming you have put the files in the right place - Is that the correct terrain you have with it? - does it not need brains repainted tiles - should say in the readme -
SAM network Types...
MigBuster replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Have had that before - and I noticed with some older planes ie Original A-7D - here didnt seem to be any SAM calls so there maybe something missing - or it just may be part of the game when you are alone. In YAP the single A-6 mission (Delta Sierra) you get no SAM calls at all so there is something that can be changed - but tbh im not that bothered myself - the real pilots didnt get one every time - and in LineBacker for example theres no point anyway with the amount that launch. What guidance does the SA-19 use? if its launched from a vehicle could it be an IR missile initially targeted by a radar on the vehicle? -

Freeware or Payware
MigBuster replied to Yorkiesand23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
As the freeware licence states http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...=26131&st=0- you can only modify and redistribute peoples individual work under those terms that have actually SIGNED up to be part of that licence. If you have modified someones work and they are not on the list then get in touch with them and ask if you can release it as modified basically. When you register for A-Team downloads you will be given their terms - they dont allow redistribution of their original models/skins as a rule - as in you can modify it for personal use but it cant be posted on here for example. -
