Think they own most of London too now - maybe an offensive will be launched from Chelsea FC to crush Arsenal FC once and for all :)

Lol - weve still got around 20,000 troops in Germany it seems.

Does Anyone Mind LONG Distances In This Sim?
MigBuster replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Long distances are not fun - dont think they are in real life either tbh from what ive read - the biggest killer though is time available for sorties. If you have a fast PC you can bump the time accel up to x16 etc which is what I often use. if using alt+n move the IP waypoint on the map to a low ground area before the mission. -
We have had pretty positive reports of normal Russian life the past few years - has problems but there are a lot more happy normal Russians these days - and they seem to love this Putin bloke - are there any Russians on here that can comment on this??. Thats quite a statement to make - US is no more weak than its ever been surely - if being weak is not threatening military action against Russia but keeping them in check then so be it. Despite whos in power Russia is quite an important partner in regards to negotiating with both North Korea and Iran it would appear.
-
Cant comment there tbh <cough>
-
That guy has to be taken out of there - at least given a backroom role where he cant keep f***** everything up for Georgia. The published speech above is nice im sure but still involves scaremongering - "Fall of the West in the Former Soviet Union???" wtf Is he implying we are forcing shambolic democracy onto countries just to get a strategic foothold in that region (and stir everything up)? hmmm
-
Well money talks - we know that much - however we also know that the people who have it wont give it to Russia
-
hmmm Really not sure how much of this I believe tbh - georgia driving back a Russian offensive??? Mr Saakashvili said that Russian troops came within three miles of Gori before being driven back a distance of 12 miles by a Georgian counter-attack. But journalists on the scene are deeply skeptical of this account. There is no independent evidence that a large scale battle against a major Russian offensive took place outside Gori. Mr Saakashvili added that "90 per cent" of the casualties suffered by Georgia were civilians. "They are specifically targeting civilian targets. They've been targeting highways in Georgia which are especially crowded at this time of year because of returning holidaymakers," he said. But the main highway bisecting Georgia from East to West and running through Gori remains open. Russia appears to have refrained from severing this key artery, suggesting that its forces are showing some restraint. The Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin accused the United States of trying to disrupt his country's military operations in Georgia. He said that the Americans had used transport planes to fly Georgian troops into the conflict zone after they were redeployed from Iraq. Mr Putin said: "I regret that some of our partners are not helping us but in fact are trying to impede us. "I am referring to the US transfer, aboard its military transport planes and directly into the conflict zone, of the Georgian military contingent from Iraq." His comments came as troops who had been serving in Iraq began to appear in the town of Gori. One, who named himself only as Badri, told the Telegraph that he and his comrades were ready to fight to the death to defend Georgian sovereignty. "We are here to drink Russian blood," he said. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...completion.html

Updated 10 mins ago "Russia and Georgia have accused each other of launching new attacks, as diplomats press for a ceasefire in the conflict over South Ossetia. Georgia said dozens of Russian bombers attacked targets inside its territory, including around Tbilisi and Gori. Russia said Georgian attacks on the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali killed three of its troops. Georgia's president backed a draft EU ceasefire proposal for a ceasefire, but Moscow reportedly rejected the plan." from http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7553144.stm so who is lying? - my guess both parties - or who knows maybe??
-
Sorry I dont agree - Georgia have NO right to send heavy artillery into populated areas like that even if it wasnt disputed territory - they knew damn well they would kill their own civilians and Russian soldiers provoking a Russian response - and what they expect NATO to back them up on this !!!!!!. We seem to be accusing the Russians of wanting a change of administration - trust me they are right on this at least - there is NO WAY the current admin is fit to be part of NATO. And prey the only thing NATO launches at Russia - is harsh words (which it will be)
-
The way its always been you mean - its so easy to feed people cr*p they they will believe - classic example always seen here is: "60% of people in the UK think...." 60% of what? - is the question nobody asks - blindly believing a stat based on between 0 and 500 people (normally no figures are quoted) somehow represents a population of 60million - i mean wtf!! Just saw a Georgian citizen interviewed on the BBC - who happens to be in London - knew nothing about the situation over there whatsoever so was just shouting off based on his emotions - as you can imagine it was " Russia is doing this/that - they want a new Soviet Union etc blah - NATO said they would protect us - they must do something now regardless!" Never heard such crap in my life - the presenter did ask though whether he thought starting a war against Russia was wise in light of it being a nuclear exchange - he just repeated that we must force Russia to stop their actions anyway - this raises 2 questions - 1. Would Russia have gone against Georgia if they were already in NATO? 2. Would NATO really be obliged to help nutcase members of NATO who want to start WW3?

Some amazing looking skins there Kei -
There is no evidence anything is being carpet bombed - Russia has Guided weapons AFAIK - and like any guided weapons sometimes they go astray. Surely the clear objective is to remove the Georgian military including logistics and airbases? Not sure we can put any pressure on Russia tbh - they hold quite a few cards at the mo - particularly where European Energy is concerned.

Sometimes in game if you hit F8 or F9 (cant remember) accidentally the orange light comes on and your movement will become sluggish - so hit F8 to turn it green again and get full movement - the keys can be customised by you. -
OT for this bit only: Plenty about it - I think only the B-52 has a longer loiter time than a B-1 - could be wrong - the A-10 / AH-64 are no where near a B-1s loiter time or weapons load and I bet the B-1 is still accurate with delivery. http://www.defencetalk.com/news/publish/ai...nd100016018.php

They are claiming that Georgian troops are still in SO - but no body knows - there are still reports of heavy fighting. They showed pics of Georgia pulling heavy Artillery out of SO - why was it even in there in the first place? - did they expect to win a full scale ground war against Russia???
-
Well - in military conflict if you want to win you use everything you have to minimise the losses on your side - and overwhelming force is a must if you have it. Do you realise we are using B-1s for CAS against the Taliban? In 2003 Iraqs AF was buried underground but we didnt say - "okay to make it a bit fairer Saddam we will keep our jets at home btw"

There are so many papers and articles written on the legality of the Iraqi war - and the government over here completely fell apart over it. Hussein had to be taken out IMO for regional stability - Iran war and attacking his own people (Kurds) in Northern Iraq - but I am unclear whether there was any actual full international legal justification allowing a full scale invasion. regardless its over and done with now - however it does raise the point that if this Mikhail Saakashvili classes South Essetia as part of Georgia why did he launch a ground and air attack that was sure to kill his own civies? Judge for yourself - shouldnt be in power IMO: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7551753.stm

I expect they will try to push back the Georgian Military as far as they can from the border and continue to launch airstrikes on Military targets - nothing short of what we would do tbh. If the Georgian military really was stupid enough to attack Russian peacekeepers (and their own some reports say) then they deserve every thing they get. BBc are putting reports in from both sides: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7552323.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7552358.stm NATO have probably done all they can to intervene politically - so will just have to sit back now and hope for the best

If you click on the settings button what do you have there? Ideally you need to have the receiver centered so you can turn your head evenly both ways When i pitch up (head back) the dots don't go right to the top What does view->Heads show? Make sure the receiver doesnt have an orange light on it If still not working - check if there is a later version of the software/drivers you can use at NP - uninstall then reinstall it - making sure to install it in the correct order. -
Sorry you are misreading me - the bit in brackets is semi sarcastic - I'm basically saying that International law and recognised boundaries are not absolute - and are manipulated depending on who it is objecting to them or challenging them. Russia will do what it likes in there - or whatever is in their best interests - no one can really do much if they want to stay there either - and no one is really condeming them either because they see the situation is not straight forward. They have sent a NATO envoy to Russia I see - do you think they will be on Georgias side 100% by any chance?

Does anybody know what type of rack would have been used to dual or triple mount LAU-10A zuni rocket pods on an F-5? -

Brilliant - many thanks for that suhsjake -
well there goes that thread then - Muesli can you keep OT mate and stop taking things literally - I dont think English is his first language - maybe he meant that NATO membership would be denied to such people who launch such an offensive on civies?

The trackIR receiver which is probably atop your monitor needs to see the silver reflecting stickers on the clip - so line it up as much as possible If you go to View->Tracking you should see 3 green splodges that move when you move your head. If you see more than the 3 reflections from the clip then there are light sources behind you you need to get rid of or filter out - otherwise it may not work properly.
