  1. Just had a look and WOE cat does actually have the desert airfields and some mosques in it - so it may now include the files you need - so see Gocads reply above
  2. At a guess it may need to use the desert.cat from the original Strike Fighters project1/Gold - basically the GermanyCE.cat in WOE may not have the correct files in it. Youd be best to place a link to where you got this mod so it can be confirmed
  3. Nothing commercial - except maybe AceCombat :) Not that id want to promote it (dont use it myself )but I think Red Viper (goes over Falcon 4.0) has a 2D and 3D cockpit for the F-14 made by Aeyes - not sure how good the flight model is though: http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthr...ht=f-14+cockpit
  4. For Falcon 4: Allied Force only (theres a first) and free too - so bow to the god they call Zerk!! http://zerk.110mb.com/
  5. Was hoping the new patch may improve some things You could try downloading this Mod here: http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/CharlesEAW/sfpage.html Its for WW2 bomber formations - Ive no idea if it stops them banking too much - but you could probably take what hes done and see if you can change the US Bomber formation to your liking.
  6. Out of the box: I actually like the stock WOE campaigns - and theres some great jets in it. WOV comes with carrier ops Theres a great mod called Yankee Air Pirate for WOV if you like the realistic side of the Vietnam War WOI is the most advanced currently and if you like the historic Arab Israeli battles then its the one to get. Bear in mind that the next patches for WOV and WOE will bring them to the same standard as WOI. Also a lot of the mods should work in any of the games
  7. Interesting - back when I last bought a Gaming Mag - probably for the Amiga back in about 1990 the good flight sims like Falcon and Flight of the Intruder at the time were always given briliant reviews and were considered mainstream and cool to have. Guess combat sims were a new concept back then to most people though. Cant say ive read or taken much notice of gaming reviews since - they are usually based on the persons own opinion - or influenced from on high - so they mean Jack S***. When I was a kid I always went for the game with the best graphics or one that had the best name like Robocop etc - but I was always bored of them in a few weeks - and graphics are meaningless if the game play is crap. However these games are always the most expensive and are guranteed money spinners for the developers so they aint gonna whine. Now ive been playing the SF series since 2003 and am still playing it - so for me this 1 man operation has managed to keep my attention and succeed where all the big software companies have failed badly. It is like the ultimate perfect everlasting game that I wished so many others would be when I was younger. This only applies to me though - you cant force anyone to like a game (though you can brainwash kids into buying games based on blockbusters ) People like what they like!
  8. Yes - you would just extract the skin for the drop tank in question - then repaint it using something like Photoshop or GIMP
  9. Install trouble

Typical - Just checked it from work and can get to it fine - so its just me, the gateway or AOL stopping me at home
  10. ANY NEW PAINT SCHEMES COMING SOON?

If you mean skins then you need to get and learn either Photoshop (not free) or GIMP (free) amongst others
  11. Gawd - theres nothing wrong with pushing people in the direction of the KB or the search function also IMO - its an essential thing with games with such a large and complicated scope as these - if you dont understand whats there then come back and ask. For example some rookie was asking me to make a video of how to beat the F-22 in Falcon 4 - despite the fact that he could have found vids and threads on the subject in about 5 mins - nothing difficult to understand in any of that really. Although I dont agree with sending people to look out of spite - I do agree that anyone who comes on here should get in the habit of searching for things themselves for the long term - particularly as no one is obliged or paid to actually give any help out what so ever!. So yes he who doesnt ask remains a fool forever (old quote) - but he who cant be arsed to use the search remains in the dark forever (new quote). that being said I do help people myself if I know the answer.

  14. Happy Birthday to USAFMTL

Happy Birthday to you sir - and many of em!
  15. Install trouble

You either have a dodgy CD, or there is something on your PC stopping it from installing - the game runs fine on Windows XP. Lead Pursuit seem to have shut down their website(well I havnt been able to get to it for weeks) - so I wonder if they have just pulled all AF support also. You could try searching over at frugals to see if they can offer any advice - thats the main F4 forum
  16. Falcon 4 - AF End campaign

You normally get a message of some kind if the campaign has finished. what day are you on? If it sits there with planning.... on the screen then it probably means your runway has been bombed and it cant frag any flights, because you cant take off until the runway is repaired.
  17. The funniest movie on Youtube

Remember this well - died laughing when I first saw it - thought it was supposed to be serious at the time So Robin put the chopper in Bat "Auto-hover mode" before he got out then??
  18. F-16I FOR FACLON 4 ALLIED FORCE?

Yes they are totally different Falcon 4.0 was the original game Microprose Game - and any superpacks will only work with that - although superpacks are old hat - the 2 running mods for Falcon 4 are FF5(RedViper) and Open Falcon Falcon 4.0 Allied Force is a totally revamped and largely changed version and must be treated as being a completely separate game to the above. You can only use the official Lead Pursuit patches over Allied Force - there are no extra terrains or Campaigns for it You need to uninstall the whole lot now then reinstall Allied Force only. RedViper will work over Allied Force apparently - although it may not be very stable.
  19. ww1verdun_data.ini goes in .....\Terrain\wwiVerdun\ the other goes in ..........\Flight\
  20. It just needs to go in the correct folder - which file have you extracted? When you extract a file from a CAT it just makes a copy of the file (you cant add or remove files to CAT files) - so when it goes in the correct folder it takes priority over the original in the CAT - if that makes sense
  21. Having trouble installing Falcon 4.0 AF

Well i kinda guess that its it already installed bits into Windows so you could try the old LP method of completely removing whats on there: If anyone is having issues uninstalling Allied Force, please try the following: Go to this page http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;290301 Halfway down is the download link to grab the Installer Cleanup Utility package. Once you have downloaded the file, double click it and select "Run". This will install the package. Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Installer Clean Up and double click "msicuu.exe" In the list of programs that appear in the new window, choose (All Users) Falcon 4.0: Allied Force .... and at the bottom hit "remove". This should allow you to reinstall AF correctly.
  22. There are different versions of direct X 9c to confuse things more - best to follow the link at the bottom here: http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_woe.htm Direct X is not part of WOE in anyway - its part of Windows if anything - which is why you need to download it from Microsofts web site. Once downloaded you should be able to install direct X by double clicking on the downloaded .msi file If WOV is running ok then you may not have patched that to the latest Third Wire Service Pack - WOE was released as SP4 and needed the later DX9 whereas WOV only needs it if you patch it up to the 5-15-06 service pack http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_wov.htm
  23. In the current versions of WOE/WOV and SFP1 you would have to manually work out and put the actual coordinates of where you want the jets to go AFAIK. Putting them in Hangars should be easy because you are given the coordinates for the hangars already. You won't be able to use stock jets as statics until the next patch is out - but there are some that can be downloaded from this site anyway.
  24. Install trouble

On the original install disk texture.zip is in the LPF4.cab cabinet file (is E:\LPF4.cab\texture.zip) So the message says: Cannot open C:/Archivos de programa/Lead Pursuit/Battlefield Operations/terrdata/Korea/texture/texture.zip This is defo refering to the zip file on your actual Hard Disk because thats where the file is placed when its installed. Are you using Windows XP? - that can handle zips without extra programs I would be running check disk on the C drive to check bad sectors myself - although re-installing winRAR is worth a try. Seems odd that you are having problems opeing zips in general - hope its not a windows problem will assume "Archivos de programa" = "Program Files"
