  1. Having trouble installing Falcon 4.0 AF

Well i kinda guess that its it already installed bits into Windows so you could try the old LP method of completely removing whats on there: If anyone is having issues uninstalling Allied Force, please try the following: Go to this page http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;290301 Halfway down is the download link to grab the Installer Cleanup Utility package. Once you have downloaded the file, double click it and select "Run". This will install the package. Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Installer Clean Up and double click "msicuu.exe" In the list of programs that appear in the new window, choose (All Users) Falcon 4.0: Allied Force .... and at the bottom hit "remove". This should allow you to reinstall AF correctly.
  2. There are different versions of direct X 9c to confuse things more - best to follow the link at the bottom here: http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_woe.htm Direct X is not part of WOE in anyway - its part of Windows if anything - which is why you need to download it from Microsofts web site. Once downloaded you should be able to install direct X by double clicking on the downloaded .msi file If WOV is running ok then you may not have patched that to the latest Third Wire Service Pack - WOE was released as SP4 and needed the later DX9 whereas WOV only needs it if you patch it up to the 5-15-06 service pack http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_wov.htm
  3. In the current versions of WOE/WOV and SFP1 you would have to manually work out and put the actual coordinates of where you want the jets to go AFAIK. Putting them in Hangars should be easy because you are given the coordinates for the hangars already. You won't be able to use stock jets as statics until the next patch is out - but there are some that can be downloaded from this site anyway.
  4. Install trouble

On the original install disk texture.zip is in the LPF4.cab cabinet file (is E:\LPF4.cab\texture.zip) So the message says: Cannot open C:/Archivos de programa/Lead Pursuit/Battlefield Operations/terrdata/Korea/texture/texture.zip This is defo refering to the zip file on your actual Hard Disk because thats where the file is placed when its installed. Are you using Windows XP? - that can handle zips without extra programs I would be running check disk on the C drive to check bad sectors myself - although re-installing winRAR is worth a try. Seems odd that you are having problems opeing zips in general - hope its not a windows problem will assume "Archivos de programa" = "Program Files"
  5. Install trouble

Are you an administrator on that PC? (Assume you are using Win XP/Vista 32bit) If you have full admin level, check your disk space on C:, run scan disk and defrag the drive also.
  6. It's SkyNET... or worse!

After seeing that ASIMO thing fall down the stairs - i think these may be a while in coming
  7. hmm well who knows - but you can break a lock in Falcon fairly easily at range - and so can the bad guys - and thats supposed to be 1990s tech pulse doppler radars. I suppose you could use a Plane that doesnt use the doppler shift thingy - so you shouldnt be able to beam an F-4 with an older radar (AFAIK).
  8. Looks like the default animation - maybe using different textures though Cant see that well on a low res pic anyway
  9. Red Viper, Vista and Black Screen

Yep its Free Falcon 4 - Plenty of people play it over AF but dont expect it to be fully stable - Cant vouch for online gaming either so you may want to check frugals etc.
  10. Am more of a Jet jockey myself so only play this for a bit of fun - the EP seems to have fixed two things for me anyway: 1. I can now actually recover from most stalls - where as before it was 99% death in the Spad regardless of altitude etc 2. The German bombers used to get caught in a constant loop of climbing slowly at about 90 degrees till they stalled - then flipped over and dived - they would continue this till they hit the ground - didnt seem right somehow. Like the static Planes option too!
  11. Hey congrats a near vertical Harrier landing - not so easy that. I havnt heard that song for about 20 years is that Status Quo?
  12. Someones posted a vid doing that http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...=26416&st=0 Theres also one of Nicky landing like a Girl
  13. That skin looks ace - and nice tune again Paint it Green!
  14. Hello Depends on the individual Mod im afraid - Most mods will work with SFP1, SFG, WOV and WOE at the moment (Service Pack 4) - the readme with it should really say what it was designed for - and say if you cant use it in a particular game etc WOI has just come out - and because of the changes made some existing mods will need to be revised to work with it. The other games SFP, WOV etc are due to have the next service Pack (SP5) released to bring them up to the same level as WOI. If you patch WOV to SP5 for example when (if) its released a few older mods may not work with it - but they hopefully will be revised so they do in the future. hope that makes sense
  15. This may give you some ideas http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_055a.html
  16. You have a <campaign>.ini and a <campaign>_data.ini The campaign.ini has the flyable squadrons that you choose in the menu screens. i.e. [uSAFUnit002] UnitName=(F-4E) 8th TFS 'Black Sheep' ForceID=1 UnitID=2 StartDate=1973 DescFile=woe4Start.txt StartText=woe4Start1.txt you can change these too if you like. back it up before changing anything
  17. Yeah - open up the campaigns data.ini in the campaign folder - find the squadron you want to change //----- Player Unit [AirUnit002] AircraftType=F-105D <----- change Squadron=13TFS ForceID=1 Nation=USAF StartDate=5/1966 DefaultTexture=USAFCamo1 <-----change BaseArea=Korat RTAFB BaseMoveChance=0 RandomChance=100 MaxAircraft=16 StartAircraft=16 MaxPilots=16 StartPilots=16 Experience=100 Morale=100 Supply=50 MissionChance[sWEEP]=0 MissionChance[CAP]=0 MissionChance[iNTERCEPT]=0 MissionChance[ESCORT]=0 MissionChance=90 MissionChance[CAS]=20 MissionChance[sEAD]=90 MissionChance[ARMED_RECON]=20 MissionChance[ANTI_SHIP]=0 MissionChance[RECON]=0 UpgradeType=FIXED Upgrade[01].Year=1968 <----change if listed Upgrade[01].Type=F-4D <----change if listed Upgrade[01].Texture=USAFtng1 <----change if listed Rebase[01].Date=10/1967 Rebase[01].BaseArea=Udorn RTAFB If weapons are listed (for player squadrons) then you will need to change them to the exact weapons your jet uses! Supply[001].WeaponType=M117 Supply[001].Quantity=2880 Supply[002].WeaponType=Mk82 Supply[002].Quantity=1440 Supply[003].WeaponType=Mk84 ........
  18. IMO I never had much luck with the AGM-78 even though it was supposed to be better than the AGM-45 apparently - so I always used the shrike A's I guess you could tweak the AGM-78 - or there may be a better one in the weps pack
  19. 1. most of the original Jets in this series had poor rear vision which may explain why by default you cant look around that far - the view to look around can be extended via a mod - which is handy for the A-10,F-15 etc 2. Most cockpits should have a fuel guage - although not all do - its either a counter or dial depending on the actual jet. You will find that most of the essential cockpit dials can be used. 3. You can - but you still need a waypoint to tell you how to navigate to the actual target itself. Ideally you set waypoints (limited in this sim) so you avoid airfields and other things that are likely to have SAMs defending them so you are less likely to be blown out of the sky on the way there. Also when you are escorting (or being escorted) one of the points will be a rendevous point so you can meet at a certain time - so theyre actually essential
  20. Any landing you can walk away from is a good one apparently - although landing gritting your teeth and closing your eyes as you prey you dont explode - is something I used to do a lot - great fun though
  21. hmm a thrust reversing C130? landing on a carrier show off
  22. nice one - the music goes well too You just made the landing at the end there - maybe a telling off from the CAG though
  23. The YAP carrier actually has lights though which is a bit of a bonus!
  24. Always a manual landing - though with the variety of jets in WOV it takes a few missions to get into the swing of it with whatever im using. This usually means a few dodgy moments and missed wires. :moil:
