Went ahead and installed FSX the other day. I have to say, it runs better than my FS9 install. My only gripe is a lack of good freeware helos. Most of the payware I have installed were ones bundled with an FS9 purchase. So far the only thing I bought for X is an FSUIP registration, I can't live without a fully functioning copy. My big worry about frame rates being s**t were false, found the right mix of scenery and traffic settings to make the world interesting. As of now I'm slowly building up my scenery and aircraft files, this time only things I am really going to fly and fly to.

Subscribed in April but I'll try to kick some dough to the server in a couple of paydays, had to kick cash to the FS Top Gun server this month. As I am an admin there I have to do my part to keep it running, after seeing your post for your subscription I now know that I'm not the only server admin that helps keep the doors open somewhere.

Angeleno's as a rule have the collective IQ of 100 gym teachers, at least that's what one of my buds in the LAPD says. I'm just pissed that the Helicopter fly in at Hansen Dam got canc'd.

Congrats, I've had this series for almost as long as it's been out and never finished a campaign, short attention span. I prefer single mission as I have more say on where I'm going and what I'm going to carry. That said this is the only air combat sim that I will put any time into, CFS was a joke and if I wanted to read a manual that could choke a horse I would have stayed in the Navy, so no LOMAC and no Falcon 4. Third Wire Games, Come for the campaigns, stay for the dogfights!

A cousin of mine has several, an early 1941 Jeep, an M3 Halftrack and a Weasel. When I get the chance I'll get some pics, I always wanted to drive a halftrack.

You can assign a secondary gun group through your controls menu, as for firing through the secondary button, you need to select the pods through the A2G switch just as you would selecting the right bomb and you should be good to go.

I concur with the lock tone files, they are a world of difference in the game. As for the 'winders, anything up to the Lima and Mike models were crap in real life. If you want success in the game they are best used at from dusk to dawn, at those times the seeker heads won't be confused by the sun of it's reflection off of ground water. As for guns in a Phantom, the SUU pods are good for strafing and last ditch in a dogfight. Having mounted a couple long time ago they are a beast to boresight and we never were quite sure if they were dead on. Stick with missiles, the AIM-7E and F's can be your friend. Just lock them up in your radar, fire your Sparrow and hold the target in your radar until impact. The AIM-7 gives you a wider engagement envelope and a little longer reach. And the WoV free expansion that is available here is a good challenge after you get tired of the stock install.

Here's your problem.... FOR STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 Europe with Expansion pack 2 Made for and tested in SF2 all title merged Unless you have the second gen games this may not work in with the first generation. As to repair, did you make back ups for the files they replaced or overwrote? If not you might be looking at a re-install. Hope you don't have to go that route though.

When you installed those birds did they come with the stores you are missing in the loadout? If they did you will have to add them to your weapon dat ini file. It's a copy/paste job, all the entries should be in a read me some where in the download. All you have to do is this.... Find the read me with the ini entries and copy those lines Open the weapon ini with notepad and scroll down to the bottom of the list that's where you paste the copy Change the xx or xxx in the weapon title to the next consecutive number in the list Save your changes and close the file Now run the weapon edit and use it to open the weapon ini Hit save and close the editor If the loadout entries are there for the stores then they should show, make sure you are using the latest WE if you have the game fully patched to 08 standard. Hope this helps you out.

For the Weapons Editor go to the Third Wire site and get the latest version, the 08 patch changed some things around. I'm like you I just started playing this again after a long absence. Check the KB on how to make the WE work, you have to right click the WE itself and then properties,click the tab marked compatibility and then tick the box that say run is Win95. That should get your WE running, same with the Gun Editor.

It's my way of saying you have a better chance with a cartoon saving you than Red Crown sending any aid. The key phrase in the song is this one..... you knew the job was dangerous when you took it Happy flying!

The only suggestion is that you try the support forum where this mod is located. I have found them very helpful to the end user, just make sure you detail everything you can about your problem. Two things come to mind... FOD walkdown Things Falling Off Aircraft report. Both are pains in the neck and do not endear the pilot to the wrench turners. Just glad the pilot or anyone on the ground got hurt.

Just got the word that not only HCS-5's mission but the name Firehawks has given to our successor squadron HSC-85. The fact that our unit "mascot" is a Phoenix is not lost on all those who were part of HCS. The phrase in my signature "FIREHAWKS FOREVER" have a new meaning. Maybe I"ll try to get un-retired and back into the game.
