  1. Bagged da Baron and Immelman

Yep, they don't die until their historical date... I'm ok with that, but would like to see my kill in the news...LOL Hey, the grandkids are spending some time next weekend. Boy 5, Girl 7, the girl was bored with FSX and played OFF on easy and did great. She is a good pup pilot Is there a way to play 2 home computers with each other? A lan kinda thing? Issue may be OS this on w7 and other on windows Vista.... It would be fun to fly with/against them when they do the weekend here. No big deal just to create pilots for them and play on this machine. I unhooked the pedals for them, they sit on my lap, and use a CH pro-throttle and a Logitech twisty stick.
  2. Each to their own...

Rof won't work for me due to slow internet connection. I can't play a game that must be tethered to the mothership for constant updates. I hope WOFF won't be that way.
  3. Dear oh Dear... We Need WOFF

I like this place. It has a better feel. Like being in the tents with your mates before the new day dawns. I get the 2 clicks thing. WWI flying rules for me. Yes, there is much more to life than simming... Happy waiting and best wishes in your travels through life.
  4. WWI Mod for IL-2 '46?

I recall 33LIMA doing a thread with the same plane sets in different "games/simulators" . It was very well done and had a gazillion screen shots. Took me forever to read and see the eyecandy on my meager internet connection, but worth every day that advanced through them Here it is ...... http://combatace.com/topic/78684-a-nieuport-28-campaign-sim-by-sim/
  5. WWI Mod for IL-2 '46?

All the IL2 campaigns I've played get old real fast
  6. I'm guessing most of you have seen it before, but I haven't, and it's on the tv now being dvr'd Much of the footage is in OFF's videos, but it is strange to see the color
  7. PC down.

I had this problem a couple of years ago. Drove me crazy. Sometimes it would boot. Most times it asked for the installation disk to run repairs and would hang It wound up being the sata plug-in attachment to the motherboard wasn't fully seated. No clue how it became loose.
  8. OT....Baking

Those cook faster, don't they? I picked 8 quarts of wild blackberries last week, and 18 peaches from 2 peach trees planted May of 2011. Making wine with most of the berries and pie from the rest of them and the peaches. Had a great aunt that lived in the country way back when I was a boy. She had an ornate wood burning kitchen stove and made the best pies I've ever had. Heck, everything she made was great. I've cooked on a simpler model at a deer camp and there is a knack to cooking with them. Heat comes from the side and results in uneven cooking temps that require lots of attention and turning of pots/dishes. Temperature regulation is another biggie, gotta know how much wood to add and when to do it. She would probably be both amazed and bored cokking on today's high tech stoves.
  9. WWI in Colour; Blood In The Air

It's airing again today on the Military Channel, 10 AM Here is a link to the youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNh5NNup2uQ
  10. I can't believe it!

Happy B-Day! Take lots of pics and have a great ride.
  11. New WWI Photos found

my antri-virus went off on that link
  12. Thank you for starting the thread, rjw ! Olham, I'd heard of that but never saw any photos.... Thanks! One of many things I like about these guys is that the way they lived would be frowned on now.
  13. Yeah, it's "colorized" and probably touched up too. He does have that look about him... I tend to think he was a very compilicated man who served his country very well History is written by the winners. His side lost x2, yet he was regarded highly by all. I read some where where Herman took advantage of his drinking in later years, (hunting Nazi camp and general parties), and actually drugged him so that Ernst could not tell Hitler about his evaual of Soviet aviation, which would reccomend not invading them. I would have loved to have been a passenger in a two seat biplane with Ernst at the controls
  14. As Olham mentioned above, I was under the impression that he took the mini bar with him in a twin engine VIP personal transport plane used by the Nazi party , the Siebel Fh-104 . I didn't know he used a parachute in WWI..... Udet was one of the early fliers to be saved by parachuting from a disabled aircraft. On 29 June 1918, he jumped after a clash with a French Breguet. His harness caught on the rudder and he had to break off the rudder tip to escape.[2] His parachute did not open until he was 250 ft (76 m) from the ground, causing him to sprain his ankle. His suicide was tragic, as all are. I wonder if he saw the "writing on the wall" with Hitler's war with Stalin.
  15. He lead an interesting life, that is for sure. Saw a bio on tv a few years back...can't recall the name or channel. It seemed to focus more on his Stuka development. Did he actually do shots while inverted in the air? Damm....I like him. OK googled a bit and yes, he had a mini suitcase bar for flying
  16. OFFice/OFFbase/OFFworld 1.1.0 now available!

Yeah HumanDrone, they sure can be a PITA, especially with Microsoft flight sims. One thing I really like about X-plane is the lack of all that. That being said, I still prefer FSX over it for other reasons. I have an old CFS3 addon, "Fire Power", which I'd like to install, but haven't due to fears of messing up OFF
  17. German Jasta in Italy

Those are some great looking skins!
  18. For Olham: A Glimpse at RB3D

That RB3D music brought back memories! Many nights I'd hear it in my sleep, and all tose mornings at work with too little sleep because I was playing way too late....just one more mission.
  19. Dear oh Dear... We Need WOFF

I only watched the latest, Elephant. Guess that gives me something else to savor in the waiting period. Might have to ration them...
  20. For Olham: A Glimpse at RB3D

That is the game that got me hooked on flight sims too. Actually it was my first PC game, we had just bought our first family PC. Didn't think I'd be spending much time on it until we were in a computer store and I spotted the RB3D box on a self.... Soon my daughter was complaining about me spending too much time on the machine
  21. Dear oh Dear... We Need WOFF

The "other site" issue confused me when I first bought OFF and was looking for tips and general info. Found this site via a google search for OFF plane skins There is less activity there and as far as I'm aware no file library. Hope the library here gets back up soon. Last week I was visiting a friend with high speed internet and watched the WOFF video on a large screen. It looked great and had me itching to see another video or some screen shots. Don't want the OBD team to be focused on development updates and not actual development, but it sure would be nice to see another preview.
  22. I have to say I love the Roccat mouse and keyboard. For over a decade I used whatever was around, much of "throw aways", and that is ok, but this is way better. Especially at night, the backlight keyboard rocks. The Zalman cpu cooler also works and looks great. Wasn't too bad to insata in the Tt Chaser Mk-1 as the back of the motherboard is exposed easily. Big cooler with nice led blue to match the whole system. The design/looks reminds me a bit of an old radial engine. Before I started this build I wasn't comfortable doing it on my own, more inclined to buy a PC. I learned much and slowly added in what I wanted. Good learning and confidence builder.
