  11. Does anyone here know Trigrinya (Language)

I am working on the big project for SF2 and a book with a small team. They have been an excellent teacher too. I learned a lot from them. The project involves two fictional nations. The book contains the detailed information about the nations' background and timelines, flag, squadron, their insignia, various military vehicle inventory, etc. I used to work on the former project for SF2 known as "SF2: Alternative world: Dhimar and Paran expansion". Then I realized several things: 1) Dhimar and Paran are already written by TK, so I do NOT want to override his stories. That way I can be unlimited with my creativity 2) I wasn't prepared. I realized I was lacking in the detailed knowledge about military structure, so I decided to research more about them. 3) I realized that designing two new nations for SF2 it requires a lot of times. It involves writing the stories about two nations (Background and timelines), designing the flags, squadron, their insignia, vehicle inventory, etc. This also involves a lot of researches about the specific countries' cultures, language and their military to get idea for each nations' cultures, language and military structure. I intend to make it semi-realistic with the balances between this world and alternative world. I owe huge thanks to the wonderful modders in this community. They all are the reasons why I am working on this, which lead me to project. Two nations involves the land of Eritrea and another place next to it. I am very fortunate that one of member in this community helped me with the Arabic languages for one of nation's scripts. Now I need the help with Trigrinya languages. Without revealing detailed information about the project I am working on for now, I can share two of squadron insignia: This is for one of nation located in southern Eritrea geographically: (NOTE: Trigrinya scripts may be incorrect. That is why I need someone who know this language to check if they are correct.) English: 5th Squadron “Dragon” Tigrinya: መበል 5ይ ስኳድሮን "ገበል" This is for another nation who have the conflict with this nation. English: Squadron No. 5 "Victory" Arabic: السرب رقم ٥ "النصر" Arabic (English): Alsirb Raqm 5 "Alnsr"
  12. Hello everyone, I am looking for someone who can write or read the language of Trigrinya. I am working on a big project for the book and simulation (Strike Fighter 2 add-on mod) with two fictional nations. It involves the place of Eritrea and the language of Trigrinya. I am in a need of translating some of the texts from English into Trigrinya. It is about one page of the texts. I found the translation online (unofficial google translation) and I am aware that it is not always reliable. The help with the translation are much appreciated. Cheers
  13. Hello everyone, I want to know if anyone has encountered the similar problems before? I had no problems like this until I started deleting many of unused aircraft in this method: In aircraft folder, let's say MiG-21bisB (This MiG-21 is for Syria, I only wanted to have soviet / china for red side) as an example (For US + Canada vs Russia theater only): In MiG-21bisB folder, I deleted all file, except for MiG-21bisB .ini, then empty all codes inside that file. What happened? For Desert based map (Dhimar and Paran) When I was flying one of USN aircraft, enemy does not show up anywhere anymore in the map. For a odd reasons, no matter what aircraft I choose, enemy does not get generated when doing a single mission. However, if I fly in another terrain that does not involve Dhimar / Paran, works perfectly fine. Red side aircraft always appear. I also edited terrain_nations, so it looks like this (Desert4 for example): FriendlyNation001=Dhimar FriendlyNation002=USN FriendlyNation003=USAF FriendlyNation004=USMC FriendlyNation005=CANADA FriendlyNation006=Canada EnemyNation001=Paran EnemyNation002=Soviet UPDATE: I Just realized that Paran may have tied to middle east aircraft. So by disabling middle east aircraft causes them not to show up anymore. So it mean, I will need to disable Dhimar / Paran nation from the terrain. In order to do that, I have to comment out both Dhimar and Paran from Terrain nation.ini right?

Eagle114th's SF2 Menu (UI) Expansion v1.2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a second version of SF2 UI Expansion mod. If you face any bugs or problems, please inform me. The purpose of this mod is to expand / improve the SF2 UI. In the first version, it does two things: 1) Change the aircraft list when displaying the list. Aircraft list are sorted by nation first. There are three versions: a. Version #1: Nations’ multi-branches are combined, so you’ll see (USN / USMC) A-4s or (RN / RAF) F-4Ks as an example. If aircraft have skins for a multi-nations, it will have ‘>>’ at end of aircraft name. b. Version #2: There are both symbol ‘>’ and ‘>>’. For any aircraft that is used by multi-branches, will use ‘>’, while any aircraft with skins for a multi nations will have ‘>>’ at the end of name. c. Version #3: Same as version 2 with simplified year tag. Instead of (19XX), it will show as ‘XX. 2) RWR and RADAR being displayed on the screen, there are 4 versions: a. Version #1: RWR + RADAR upper right corner b. Version #2: RWR + RADAR upper left corner c. Version #3: RWR (upper left corner) + RADAR (upper right corner) d. Version #4: RADAR (upper left corner) + RWR (upper right corner) Plans for next version: - New menu + GUI (WIP) - Make smaller version of RWR + RADAR - If time permits, will work on ordinance list, so they will be sorted by type of ordinance before the name. The feedback are always appreciated! ENJOY! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION: Note: This mod is covers all aircraft in SF2 with all expansion pack and DLCs. (AIRCRAFT) 1) MAKE A BACK UP COPY OF AIRCRAFT folder in Strike Fighters Project 2 mod directory. It can be found in this directory: SF2 (Main folder) -> Objects -> Aircraft 2) In Aircraft Sorting List folder, choose one of three versions, and then copy and drop Objects folder in SF2 mod main directory. (ORDINANCE) 1) MAKE A BACK UP COPY OF WEAPONS folder in Strike Fighters Project 2 mod directory. It can be found in this directory: SF2 (Main folder) -> Objects -> Weapons 2) In Ordinance Sorting List folder, copy and drop Objects folder in SF2 mod main directory. (RWR + RADAR) 1) MAKE A BACK UP COPY of HUDDATA.INI in FLIGHT folder in SF2 Main directory. 2) In RWR + Radar folder, choose one version of six versions, and then copy and drop Flight folder in SF2 mod directory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE LOG: v1.0 - First version of SF2 Menu (UI) Expansion v1.2 - Added extra options for RWR + RADAR with half sized version (See Version #1A and #2A screenshot in RWR + RADAR folder) - Added Ordinance Sorting list --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Current projects - SF2 new MENU and GUI (WIP) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERMISSION: Please contact me first if you want to use my mod for any purposes. 16. SF2 - Menu (UI) Expansion

Hello, sorry for the late reply. SF2 does not have the feature that allow you to toggle between different version of HUDDATA.ini in-game. You can only use one version a time when running SF2.
  17. Hello everyone, Just to let everyone know, I am discontinuing the Dhimar vs Paran project. I am working on the new project. Please see the first post for the more information. Thank you everyone for all the supports.
  18. View File Screen Overhaul - (1920 x 1080) Strike Fighter Project 2 – Screen Overhaul v1.2 Customizable Edition The new version of SF2 Screen Overhaul 1.2 is now released. Here is the following screen this mod completely overhaul: - Main screen - Single mission screen - Mission editor screen - Hangar (Default) screen - Loadout screen - Planning screen - Roster screen - Campaign screen - Campaign editor screen - Pilot records screen - Options screen It does not yet cover another screen. It is work in progress (WIP) for now. What I am seeking for is feedback that will help me improving the mod further. It is one of my biggest projects I ever worked on for SF2. It gave me opportunity to grow a new skill I enjoy doing. NOTE: Now that SF2 Screen Overhaul is becoming a customizable version. If you make any mods that adds or change anything to this mod, please add my name and mod name to your credit part. You can contact me by PM in CombatAce (I am known as Eagle114th there) or Strike fighter series Discord chat (My username is Magic Dragon, so you can find me there too.) Version 1.2 NOTES: Buttons customization instruction: In Menu folder (SF2 mod folder), you will see various SF2 screen named as “BUTTONS_HANGAR, MAIN, OPTIONS, etc...), there are folders for each button. In order, to change the color of buttons, go to one of button folder, you will see different folders for various color. Copy the file from there and overwrite the files in any BUTTONS_(SCREEN) folder. For example, in BUTTONS_HANGAR, if I want to change the color of “LOADOUT” square button to blue; I go to the folder “LOADOUT”, then “Blue” folder, copy the files: LOADOUT0.bmp, LOADOUT1.bmp, and LOADOUT2.bmp. Then I paste (Overwrite) the files in BUTTONS_HANGAR. Screens and Buttons customization Templates In different “BUTTONS_(different screen names)”, there are folder “_Templates’. You can use it to change the designs, colors, or anything you want to do with the screen background or buttons. This mod uses a font known as Orbitron. I included it in _Fonts folder. I want to express my sincerely big THANKS to Menrva, Wrench, UllyB, Daddyairplanes, Wilches, JosefK, FalonCAF, and everyone else in CombatAce community for making this possible. You all have been a huge help. Because of Operation Desert Storm 30 years anniversary great mod, I was able to study the codes on how SF2 menu work, which led me into developing new menu for SF2. This mod is truly fun to fly in SF2. If anyone hasn’t tried it yet, I highly recommend it. There are detailed instruction that explains how to install in the proper ways in README file. LEASE READ IT BEFORE INSTALLING! I included the plans for the next version in the readme too. The feedback are always welcomed! Submitter Eagle114th Submitted 05/18/2021 Category Menus
  19. Thank you for the advice. Just in case, if I am unable to apply any more decals, then I will apply some decals directly on the skin. About the custom kill mark, that is a great new. I will start making various kill marks for different squadrons from Dhimar and Paran. About PF5-A nose, thank you for the head up. I will fix that.
  20. Hello everyone, I finally finished cleaning the codes in decals.ini and fixed the camo for F-30Dh-A (Mirage IIICJ) and PF5-A (Mirage IIIC). I hope they looks good in-game. At once when I finish fixing decals for the remaining few aircraft, I will go back working on the aircraft list for Dhimar Air Force / Navy and Paran Air Force / Navy. So far, I am happy with the results after learning a lot about decals.ini coding. I am amazed by how powerful decals features are. It allow modders to simply apply any kind of decals without having to embed it into the texture. Here are screenshots: F-30Dh-A "Mirage" PF5-A "Nasr"
  21. I have next updates for everyone: I was looking through my older codes for decals in Dhimar aircraft. Did major cleaning and re-coding, so it is easy to read for anyoen who want to modify the codes. Here is an example of the codes in F-86Dh-A Decals.ini: //-------------------------------------------------- // FUSELAGE (NOSE) - LEFT [Decal001] MeshName=Nose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Insig Position=0.5,-0.00 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.4 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal002] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=F-86F-2\USAF\D\Fnum Position=-3.504,0.020 Rotation=0.0 Scale=2.0 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal003] MeshName=L_airbrake_door_outside DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=F-86F-2\USAF\D\Fnum Position=-3.504,0.020 Rotation=0.0 Scale=2.0 DecalMaxLOD=4 //-------------------------------------------------- // FUSELAGE - RIGHT [Decal004] MeshName=Nose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Insig Position=0.5,-0.00 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.4 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal005] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=F-86F-2\USAF\D\Fnum Position=-3.504,0.020 Rotation=0.0 Scale=2.0 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal006] MeshName=R_airbrake_door_outside DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=F-86F-2\USAF\D\Fnum Position=-3.504,0.020 Rotation=0.0 Scale=2.0 DecalMaxLOD=4 //-------------------------------------------------- // WING (TOP) - LEFT [Decal007] MeshName=LeftOuterWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Insig Position=-3.5,-0.541 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.5 DecalMaxLOD=4 //-------------------------------------------------- // WING (BOTTOM) - LEFT [Decal008] MeshName=LeftWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\RODAF_Insig Position=-2.9,-0.355 Rotation=-28.0 Scale=6.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal009] MeshName=LeftOuterWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\RODAF_Insig Position=-2.9,-0.355 Rotation=-28.0 Scale=6.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 //-------------------------------------------------- // WING (TOP) - RIGHT [Decal010] MeshName=RightOuterWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\RODAF_Insig Position=2.9,-0.355 Rotation=-28.0 Scale=6.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal011] MeshName=RightWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\RODAF_Insig Position=2.9,-0.355 Rotation=-28.0 Scale=6.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 //-------------------------------------------------- // WING (BOTTOM) - RIGHT [Decal012] MeshName=RightWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Insig Position=2.9,-0.3 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.5 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal013] MeshName=RightOuterWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Insig Position=2.9,-0.3 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.5 DecalMaxLOD=3 //-------------------------------------------------- // VERTICAL TAIL - LEFT [Decal014] MeshName=VertTail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_flag Position=-4.95,1.75 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.2 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal015] MeshName=Rudder DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_flag Position=-4.95,1.75 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.2 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal016] MeshName=VertTail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Name_Insig Position=-4.7,1.3 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.7 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal017] MeshName=Rudder DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Name_Insig Position=-4.7,1.3 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.7 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal018] MeshName=VertTail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=F-86F-2\USAF\D\Snum Position=-4.1,0.90 Rotation=0.0 Scale=0.75 DecalMaxLOD=3 //-------------------------------------------------- // VERTICAL TAIL - RIGHT [Decal019] MeshName=VertTail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_flag Position=-4.95,1.75 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.2 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal020] MeshName=Rudder DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_flag Position=-4.95,1.75 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.2 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal021] MeshName=VertTail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Name_Insig Position=-4.7,1.3 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.7 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal022] MeshName=Rudder DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=_Dhimar\Dhimar_Name_Insig Position=-4.7,1.3 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.7 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal023] MeshName=VertTail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=F-86F-2\USAF\D\Snum Position=-4.1,0.90 Rotation=0.0 Scale=0.75 DecalMaxLOD=3 //-------------------------------------------------- // Kill marks [Decal024] MeshName=Nose DecalLevel=3 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=KILL Position=2.7,-0.3 Rotation=00.0 Scale=1.0 DecalMaxLOD=2 So far, the decals are looking good on several of imported and local built Dhimar aircraft. The imported aircraft will only have a minimum paint changes, except for the insignia and F-86F-2 (Due to the flag color). The localized built aircraft will have Dhimar camo. NOTE #1: The numbers on aircraft is a placeholder for now. I am working on squadron insignia and the wing numbers for Dhimar and Paran. NOTE #2: All aircraft of Dhimar and Paran will have the kill marks on left side of aircraft. I will see what I can do about changing the kill mark icons. For now it is the red stars from SF2. 22. Hello everyoone, I have been doing a lot of work on decals and learning how it works while still contemplating on the aircraft list, which will hopefully be finished by end of this week. I didn't realize how awesome the decals system are. With it,you could change the nationality, squadron, number, or any decals on the plane WITHOUT having to paint new decals over plane skin. I want to take full advantage of this. That way anyone who downloads the mods and want to change anything related to the decals on the plane, can easily do this. I have been working a lot on learning the tricks on placing decals over multi parts and have it align together properly. While I already have some of the planes ready for RPPAF, here are screenshots: NOTE: Imported aircraft will have nation's original skins. However, Paran localized built aircraft will have Paran's camo, as shown on PF1-A below. La-11 Tu-2S MiG-15 FP1-A (MiG-15bis)
  23. Hello everyone, It has been unique interesting days with many options, suggestions, and discussion going on. I have made the final decision about where to go with Dhimar and Paran. I updated the first post. According to my vision / stories about Dhimar and Paran: - Dhimar have large Air force and small navy. They both are unified and supports each other. They all share one same flag and insignia of one nation. - While Dhimar gets aircraft / technologies from the USA as Paran do with Soviet, both Dhimar and Paran uses aircraft and technologies from other nations too. (Thank you trotski00 for this suggestion, it is what will make Paran situation more interesting.) - Paran have large Air Force and Navy. Paran Air Force and Navy leaders have their own policy and philosophy about the aircraft designs and politic. They act as separated force. They both have their own insignia for both forces while using the national insignia at the same time. Paran Air Force will use many soviet aircraft and equipment, along with fewer other nation aircraft. Paran Navy, in the other hand, disagree with the ways of Paran Air Force and Soviet. Navy leader would rather to focus on importing and using European and other nation's aircraft and equipment over Soviet, as much as possible. However, both leaders have one thing in common, both must obey the national leader's order in any situations. I have recently created two new insignia for Paran Air Force and Navy: Note: Paran Air Force is known as Royal Paran People Air Force (RPPAF). Paran Navy is known as Royal Navy People Navy (RPPN).
  24. I can understand you well. I am not able to do 3D modelling either. That is why I will update the aircraft list based on what is also available in both SF2 sim and as an add-on aircraft mods out there. For now, all I can do is creating camo and do .ini coding. I can agree with you wholeheartedly on this! Experiencing an alternative, theoretical worlds in the sim / game gives us endless ways to enjoy it.
  25. I see, thank you very much for your insight about this mod project. While I was finding the balance what happened in this world and from another world, bridging between both for Dhimar and Paran. Then I realized, as you stated, it is my story. The feedback from the community, including yours have shaped the ideas I wanted for Dhimar and Paran a lot. I feel like I am able to express the creativity in full force now. I also realize, I can't please everyone and that is okay. This is where I hope this mod will inspire people to make the mods based on this mod to modify or add the stories to this main story or create their own stories. Prehaps, if you ever decide to work on the mods and want to use any assets from this mod, please feel free to do so! I do not know when the mods will be released, I am working on it slowly through time though. I wholeheartedly agree with you about 60s being most interesting. My most favorite eras are from 1950s to end of 1980s. That is where the combat are most balanced and interesting. The pilot skills are still required. it is also the era where countless technologies and innovations happened rapidly. I consider late 1950s to early 1970s being most "hod rod" or "Thunder age" of the aircraft time. Now with Dhimar and Paran, this is where I hope it will get most interesting. Not only I have been working on creating skins, modifying the aircraft list, creating the mods with basic .ini, I also have been working on a modifying and creating new HUD for Dhimar and Paran. That is actually true. Initially I was thinking about only certain countries being able to supply aircraft and technologies to either Dhimar or Paran. And now I am being flexible with that, and it will give Dhimar and Paran opportunities to modify and/or locally build their own versions of European and other countries aircraft. As originally planned, USA will be directly tied with Dhimar while Paran being with Soviet. However, with your recent ideas, opened the door to additional ideas about Paran Air Force vs Paran Navy. This will be more interesting stories for Paran side. Paran Air Force will be using Soviet aircraft and weapons heavily with some of European and other nation's aircraft, while Paran Navy will be more focused on European aircraft instead of Soviet. They, too, will have their own camo paints style and colors. That is noted too. Looks like I have a lot of homework to do with modifying the aircraft list this week. If you don't mind, I would like your feedback on a new, updated Dhimar and Paran Air force and Navy list later this week. I look forward to it. All of you are awesome! Cheers!
