So I've been holding off on getting a CUP install up and going. Mainly because I tried once and couldn't get it going. However - this has inspired me to give it a shot again. I absolutely LOVE heavy bomber stuff, and have had a hard time finding much of anything in ANY flight sim (outside of B17II, which I love). I'm amped to get an install up. Great work 33LIMA, as always!

Allied Luft '46 / SWOTL II UPDATED 04/2016
MrGoTime replied to dtmdragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Ahhh lame. I was hoping to fly them in formations. The best bomber sim I've been able to find has been B-17...which was great, but looking for something a bit modern. Either way - that install looks outstanding! -

How did you get the bigger bomber formations? I've only ever been able to get a flight of 4...more than that and I seem to have issues with them crashing into each other. That looks super awesome. -

Seems fitting concerning all the recent news regarding star wars! Well played sir, well played! -
Most realistic strike fighters difficulty
MrGoTime replied to matanbar123's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Thanks for the input. Moving forward, I think I'll play at normal. Mainly because I'm looking for the entire experience, not just my own flight model. Cough...ummm...yes, I am assuredly guilty of using the skip. I guess I just assumed that it would factor in the estimated fuel used during the skip. It sounds like I need to start using the time compression function instead of the skip!! -
Most realistic strike fighters difficulty
MrGoTime replied to matanbar123's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'd actually be curious as well. I never seem to run out of fuel, despite setting my fuel on difficult. Yet I feel like I always read that fighters generally only had limited time on target (due to fuel constraints). Maybe I'm not loitering long enough! -
Callsigns - Must their choosing obey to any kind of rules?
MrGoTime replied to Uhu's topic in Military and General Aviation
I was going to basically echo that. I can't speak for the air force, but for the Army/National Guard, our callsigns generally revolve around the culture or unit moniker. For example, I was in an Apache unit who had a "pirate" theme, so depending on the flight company, their call sign was Pirate, Corsair, or something like that (followed by the last two digits of their tail number, although sometimes the digits are assigned), ie Pirate 16 (Pirate One Six). Honestly the Louisiana units I worked with went by Mojo or Bayou. Some Utah units I've seen have been Warhorse, Hammer, Hawkeye or Pirate. I've also seen Smooth (from North Dakota), as well as a few others. I'm just sad that the Army doesn't do noseart anymore. -
I was actually just thinking that it's about time for me to do another Mass Effect trilogy playthrough. Good call! I really like Red Dragon. But I also really like that theater for conflict. It adds naval warfare (though not the greatest in my opinion). It's really pretty similar to ALB in my opinion. But you can generally pick it up on the cheap when it goes on sale, and it's worth it then.

I've been playing the following: Star Wars: The Old Republic Wargame: Red Dragon -> We should totally link up. I'd love to play with some other CA folks. Mount & Blade Warband (L'Aigle mod is amazing) Napoleon: Total War The X-Wing/TIE Fighter series Oooo...and the occasional Star Wars: Empire at War (lots of good mods for that one). And of course, the occasional SF2 sortie. PS - I've had my eye on Elite: Dangerous as well...but I just can't seem to justify 60 bones for it. I'll wait until it goes down in price.

Didn't see this elsewhere...but it looks like they have a War Movie bracket with the final four being Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan, The Longest Day, and Patton. Four good ones! http://ec.militarytimes.com/movies-contest/ Enjoy!

Agreed. I was hoping to see Das Boot on there as well!

Hey team, Gog.com just released another batch of good games. They released a DRM free version of Wings of Prey (including the expansion). I wondered if anyone here had played it and had any thoughts on it? I'm looking at picking it up and giving it a shot but don't really know what to expect.

One other question - What bombers can you fly?
-
Nice. I didn't see that thread. Looks absolutely gorgeous, especially for the age. And for 10 bucks! Let me ask this - I can't seem to find any info. Does it have any sort of mission builder or mission generator? I'm ok with a static campaign...but from a replay-ability perspective would like to generate my own missions.

So I don't generally like anime stuff, but here's some guy who put together a whole "anime" style youtube Star Wars clip. Pretty cool stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN_CP4SuoTU

Hey all, I just started jumping into Star Wars: The Old Republic. I wondered if there were any other SWTOR players hiding out among the combatace crowd. Let me know, I'm always up to add a few friends who play occasionally.

Question - Campaigns/Single missions for all airframes?
MrGoTime posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I'm looking at finally taking the plunge into the DCS World, with there being a pretty decent sale on Steam. My question is - do they have campaigns/single missions for all of the airframes? Like if I buy P-51, can I fly any missions? It seems weird to fly a modern combat campaign in Georgia... The huey has a campaign, right? I guess I am interested in any of the airframes, but I mostly am looking for a good single player experience. -
Israel 2 Terrain (ver 4.1) Upgrade/Update for SF2

As always good work! -
It certainly sounds interesting. I don't have an issue with anime as being a cartoon (heck, I watched the clone wars series and thoroughly enjoyed it). There's just something about the animation style that doesn't resonate with me...I can't quite put my finger on it. But maybe I need to give Yamato or Cpt Harlock a shot. I'll see if I can track them down online somewhere.

A healthy does of UCMJ is what's needed here. And it sounds like it's happening. I just want the truth to be told, and justice to be done.

It's a new Empire, right?? I would imagine that female pilots probably became a bit more prevalent in the years following the 2nd Death Star fiasco. I've read quite a bit of the extended universe (sadly, not canon any longer), and there are some Imperial female leads (no pilots that I am aware of though). I've never been able to get into anime. But if those shows are similar to this youtube clip, that's something I could maybe check out. I'll have to take a look around and see if I can track them down.
