Red Storm Rising......The Mod.....
MrGoTime replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Looks way cool. Looking forward to getting home and downloading it! -
I'm having a lot of issues getting it installed as well. I haven't had much time to dig into it yet though. Sounds like there may be an update over the last couple days? I may wait a week or two and see if the bugs get ironed out.

Tragic. A sad reminder that aviation can be a fickle mistress. My heart goes out to those soldiers/marines and their families.

Outstanding work, as always. Just started playing through the 5th campaign. Great work! -
The new supermod for Il-2 '46 is now available
MrGoTime replied to 33LIMA's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
Looks magnificent. I have it downloading as we speak. Just to be clear - no campaigns have been updated yet, correct? This is (essentially) a planeset/mapset with a quick mission builder? -

Wow, I had no idea this was in the pipeline. So are there custom campaigns to go along with it? Or is it just using the mission building? -

....is this another piece to the puzzle? -
I've only ever heard good things about him as a person. Rest in peace, sir.

Looks pretty cool. Definitely worth following.

XvT/BoP Imperial Mission Set "Fall of the Empire"
MrGoTime replied to Wrench's topic in Star Wars File Announcements
Just started in on these. Absolutely fantastic! -
So I just started playing War Thunder. I know it's absolutely ridiculous in flight model sometimes, but boy is it a good time. Plus, the graphics look pretty solid and you can eventually get a wide variety of tanks and planes to mess around with. Apparently there are campaigns too, but I've never played them. Anyways - anyone else here play? I'm always looking for wingmen. My War Thunder name is Yukon13.

Can You Take Minute to Answer this Poll?
MrGoTime replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Wait - Is the Madagascar thing considered small potatoes?! -
Tanks have actually become my favorite part. If you play the "realistic" tank battles, everyone starts in a tank. You have to earn so many "spawn" points before you can switch to your aircraft. So it generally works out pretty well from what I've seen. I love the tank battles...it has a great damage model, and the graphics down in the dirt and grass are impressive.

MrGoTime replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Voted. I must ask, is this the project you were hinting at in the DiD thread? -
"killed in execution". That's awesome. I used to think the same, and still do. I've never been a huge fan of multiplayer. But somehow War Thunder has broken through the cracks on that. I just LOVE how the engine looks and the planeset. Anyways - not for everyone. And I DO wish they had some sort of campaign or SP offline option. But hey, that's what I have IL-2 and SF2 for anyways, right?

I don't know if it is so much the flight model as it is the control scheme. It feels wonky when you use a joystick. You can use the mouse/keyboard pretty successfully, but that feels wrong somehow playing a flight game. You know I've never checked out the game forums. I just jump into the chat and stuff when I play on the game and it seems pretty good. But maybe I'll check out the forums and take a look.

You get to see a tiny little bit of Abrams action in the Denzel Washington movie "Courage under Fire". Pretty good movie too, but the tank combat is limited to just a few minutes in the beginning of the movie.

Nice, I'll do a KAW campaign. Maybe RF-51s or F-82. -
XvT-BoP: Imperial Training Missions
MrGoTime replied to Wrench's topic in Star Wars File Announcements
Awwwww yeahhhhh Wrench! Great work! -
I really enjoyed the movie, but the brutality was a bit difficult to watch. I definitely thought it was worth watching once, but don't see that I'll watch it again. I thought the acting was superb, and that the tactics were "real enough" to be convincing for me. I mean, the Tiger commander might have just made a bad call, right? I think we've all probably had or seen officers who've made bad decisions. To me, the Sherman just capitalized on the Tiger's bad move. Either way...it was a good film. I didn't think Shia could act until I saw him in this movie. As for Norman...I don't know if soldiers ever forced a guy like that to kill, but I do know first hand that soldiers like him exist and do not want to kill.

Will RoF's most recent release work with XP?
MrGoTime replied to sixstrings's topic in General Discussions
I believe there is a free to play version of ROF, right? I'd suggest giving that shot just to make sure. But I reckon it'd probably work. I don't have any solid answer for you though. -
Any spyplanes campaign?
MrGoTime replied to citizen67's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I don't know of any spyplane campaigns. There are some recon campaigns in the Nato Fighters mod and Korean War mod. A couple different recon planes, but no U2 or SR-71 that I know of. -
I'm sorry to hear that you've got to head back in for surgery. Good luck, I hope it goes well. As for the planned mission sets, those sound fantastic! I'm particularly stoked for the non-alliance/non-imperial sets, as well as the Bacta Wars sets...I think those will be AWESOME. I have very limited experience with any sort of modding, but if you need a hand, I'm willing to try and jump in. Again - Good luck with the surgery!
