Last thing you can do is to remove canopy. And add new one via fakepilot. It is not perfect but only way for now. ...until someone will do new Six family. -

Very good idea. For sure we need more traffic. On ground, sea and air. Not only military. And it will be nice to have more airliners, especialy ones that were in use in military also. -

AH-64 Apache model, work in SF1?
yakarov79 replied to winson's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Are you sure you are not mixing SF2 download with SF1 game ? For sure Cobra/Loach/Lahatut is exported to game in two diferent versions for SF2 and SF1. I used different exporter plugin, so SF2 mod will not show up in SF1. SF1 cobra - I think got different data.ini file than SF2. Few changes but still changes. But don't remember right now what exactly. As for the rotors on other aircrafts. look for line in _data.ini : PropDiameter= [value] and change to lower number like 2, 3 or similiar. And what is your game patch level ? Had to put some work for those helos to work also. Sorry that you are disappointed. But for me it looks like some instal issue / ini conflict than corupted files. -
AH-1 Cobra. Family wip.
yakarov79 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
This is still in progress build of Ah-1G Cobra for sf1/2 series. Anyone is still interested in SF helos ? Because for me its still lot of fun, plus there is not much games to fly choppers over Nam. (none ?) Anyway. This is just part of my hobby. And since i was builiding some snakes in 1/72 and 1/32 scale i started to scratch some lines in max. I started long time ago. But never finished before. So since I quit job and couldnt find good one i had lot of time recently to finish cobra. I planned to build just cobra, but later it started to get bigger with weapons, versions skins etc. It works fine with SF2 series but most of the time am using older PC with xp so am much comfortable in testing etc on SF1. All weeepons are also made by me. Mk40 rockets (several diferent warheads) launchers, gunpods etc. Turret is made as weapon station so you can load one M134 plus one M129 or both of each type. IN TAT102 turret you can load only M134 minigun. Plus after change of turret gun there is diferent ammo box loaded. Of course you can use any weapons on this, but it has specific stations codes, and my weapons got slighlty moded ammunitions. Data file still needs some work as not everything is perfect. Cockpit. Am using Ah-1g cockpit from capun site for now. My cockpit is not finished yet as i cant get work it properly. (front /back seat will be available) Animations. Cockpit door for gunner/pilot, ammo bays doors and gun turret fairings. Stabs are moving and i made some simple animations for rotor blades of course when you are flying you cant see it. Anyway blades animations is not the way i wanted, but way i want is not working. So i left it the way its working. Weapons: Mk40 rocket with warheads: M151, M156, M229, M257. m247, M255a1, with diferent model for each type. XM-158 7 Tube rocket launcher XM-158 7 Tube rocket launcher another with diferent type of mount. XM-157 7 Tube rocket launcher XM-159 19 Tube rocket launcher XM-200 19 Tube rocket launcher ***only for USMC*** In game diferences between B/A and A/A is only fairing color. LAU-61A/A 19 Tube rocket launcher (white) LAU-61B/A 19 Tube rocket launcher (filed green) LAU-68A/A 7 Tube rocket launcher (white) LAU-68B/A 7 Tube rocket launcher (filed green) TAT-102 Turret 7.62mm M134 Minigun 8000 rounds. Only on early model. M-28 Turret: 7.62mm M134 Minigun with 4000 rounds 40mm M129 Grenade launcher with 231 rounds. You can load one of each or two M134 or Two M129. Have it your way. XM-35 - Contains 20mm M195 Vulcan canon. De-rated to 750rpm. With 1800 rounds in box containers above skids on each side of aircraft. This subsytem was fitted to some aircrafts (not every could carry) in late 1969 onwards. Mostly fitted in new arived aircrafts. Not evry aircraft in unit was able to carrythis subsytem - usually 2-3. *For those who are not familiar with cobra weapon subsytems it could be carried only on left wing. M18 Gunpod - 7.62mm M134 Minigun in pod fairing. 1500 rounds of amunition. XM118 Dispenser, grenade, smoke. Two versions, for XM-157 and XM-159/200 launcher. Just for XM-157 looks not good with 19 tube. Same as bigger mount looks silly with small rocket pod. I dontk know if it was issued to army during Vietnam War. I saw this on pictures from trials. But never in action. For now its available but maybe i will remove it later. Anyway sometiems you can have a lot of fun with it. Skins and versions Mouths. Mostly sharkmouths but its snake so should be snakemouths. Looks like Marines were smarter than Army and painted real snake on nose. Anyway. I used genric style sharkmouth per unit. I didn't want to use decals for mouths so it is part of fuselage skin. In units you can find several styles of mouth. Like In C/1/9 at least there was 5 styles. I used one most common plus one extra for Cindy Ann in C/1/9. With some aircrafts should be eyes plus mouths or mouth without eyes, but since mouths are generic. It is one style for all in unit. First I was trying to put real tail codes/serial numbers to specific unit. Second is unique name/nose art. Most of them are based on available documents and photos. some numbers are placeholders. It is proper number for specific block build but i have no idea which unit it served, In some units i didnt do any decals for unknown numbers. I made several slightly diferent AH-1G 'versions'. During AH-1G service in Vietnam Cobras were upgraded maintained etc. Some units had very unique Cobras -real put together everything what we have and let it fly. 1) AH-1G Cobra named '67' represents early model with Emerson TAT-102 turret. Glass nose with landing lights. Skins for: NETT. Cobra New Equipment Trainning Team. 4 aircrafts in unit. In 1967 probably 2 were painted in SEA camo scheme. So i made two here , but i got one serial for Virginia Rose. C/1/7 Cavalry. Like I said before, sharkmouths for C/1/7 Cav is generic. I used one which is more comon and used it for all others aircraft in unit. XM-35 subsytem is not available for this model. 334th Assault Helicopter Company. Playboys. B/1/7 Cavalry. Still under construction. I like their mouth style but got only two confirmed serial numbers so it is temporary for now with number-placeholders. 2) AH-1G Cobra named '67Up' Represents late model of 67 block build and early 68 block build. Already equiped with M28 turret system. Nose light removed. Belly landing light added. Some still got glass noses some already new metal, just mix of style. XM-35 subsytem is not available for this model. SKins for: D/227 AHB 11th ACR - You wil see this aircrafts in later models also. 3) AH-1G Cobra named '68' Represents regular model of 1968 and later block build. And also repaired early 67 models upgraded to this regular Cobra standard. M28 turret system in standard, belly landing light, Hyd reservoir panel with vented inspection. This model is already wired for instalation of XM-35 weapon subsytem. Skins for: 11th ACR (some aircrafts got the same numbers as in 67up - In 11ACR aircrafts served for long time and were upgraded commonly) C/1/9 Cavalry D/1/4 Cavalry D/229 AHB C/2/20 Aerial Rocket Artilery 4) AH-G Cobra named '70' late model with tail rotor upgrade. 1968-69 block build models and also big amount of early models were upgraded to this standard since 1970-1971 onward. So you can find eraly numbers and late numbers. Right side tail rotor. This model also is wired for XM-35 weapon subsytem. Skins for: 11th ACR. Again some aircrafts are upgraded and repainted. D/3/4/ Cavalry. F/79 Aerial Field Artilery. ARA unit after reorganization and rename. Most of the aircrafts were inherited from ARA unit. 5) AH-G Cobra named '72' Late ultimate model of G. Fitted with Striela supresion system. Sugar scoop/Toilet Bowl exhaust. Engine fairing shrouds. This models were usualy equiped with all previous upgrades - right side tail rotor. Skins for: F-4 cavalry - reorganized and renamed D/3/4 cavalry unit. Some aircrafts new some inherited form previous unit. F-8 Cavalry 129 Assault Helicopter Company - last Cobra unit in Vietnam. 6) AH-1G Snake of United States Marines Corps. Marines receivved 38 aircrafts. Some (6 I think) stayed in US for training purposes. Rest was sent to Vietnam. Served firs in VMO-2 as recon aircraft Some sources says - 4 aircraftsin unit). In december 1969 HML-367 received snakes and started to work with them. Mostly early 68 build block with metal nose, Left side tail rotor. Last batch of Army transfer was late models some with right tail some with left tail. Here it is represented only by left tail. I didn't see Marines with XM-35 subsystem. So it is no available for this model. Can carry US Army and Marines rocket pods and gunpods. Skins for: VMO-2 7 Numbered as Bureu Number and original US army serial number HML-367 Numbered as Bureu Number VT-Code and original US army serial number 7) AH-1G USMC Training Cobra. Late model mostly operated after war in HMA-773. Right side tail rotor. Here will fit only USMC weapons. Skins for: HMA-773 My internet sucks last days so i got problems with uploading anything anywhere. Just links for content preview at picasa. Snake. https://picasaweb.google.com/104719896545746158712/Ah1WingsOverVietnam?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCOXYxoG7muy_rAE&feat=directlink Ah-1g units/names/nosearts https://picasaweb.google.com/104719896545746158712/AH1GSkins?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCPbEmJuYqau8Nw&feat=directlink Coming next is AH-1J for MARHUK. almost done. -

I'm running game mods from different drive than main merged instal. Right after instaling I deleted all aircraft from VOW and WOI and started puting from my own list. Stock aircrafts never ever shows anymore. So your case is strange. -

This is simple skin pack for RA-5C Vigilante over Vietnam. RA-5C and RVAH squadrons deployed 33 times in SEA during Vietnam War. But in this pack you have one painting for every year of service during Vietnam War. Diferent units. Some wil apear twice like RVAH-11 and 12. As extra for 1966 there are two skins. So everything is 12 skin sets. Actualy there is not much of skin differences here. Most work is in the decals section. Pack includes: 1965 RVAH-13 USS Kitty Hawk 1966 RVAH-6 USS COnstellation * 1967 RVAH-12 USS Constellation 1968 RVAH-11 USS KItty Hawk 1969 RVAH-9 USS Ranger 1970 RVAH-1 USS Ranger 1971 RVAH-11 USS Constellation 1972 RVAH-7 USS Kitty Hawk 1973 RVAH-5 USS Ranger 1974 RVAH-5 USS Constellation 1975 RVAH-12 USS Enterprise * Here are two paint schemes for one year. First works from January to June second July - December of 1966. At the beginig all 6 aircrafts of unit were paintet in experimental camo. Later they chenged to original grey over white paint scheme. So here in single mission pack green camo will apear only unitl end of June 1966 and then standard grey/white camo for RVAH-6. All serial numbers are historicaly correct and matched with modex number. (Hope) If I was not sure or have no information about number/modex it is marked on number.lst file. During service many RA-5C were lost. My tailnumbers mostly are original unit deployment before any replacemnt was done. All skins are original from Julhem exelent RA-5C Vigilante V3.0. I just resized skins and converted them into jpgs. Also I repainted some areas near cockpit. (new rescue arrows, danger triangles etc. and some stenciling) All decals are my work exept tail template for RVAH-5 (NE and red arrow on tailfin - this comes form original Julhelm pack) As always I was trying to put reference photos of real aircrafts. It is inside of each skin folder. RVAH-6 green camo is my "repaint" of original skin thanks to Julhelms templates. Unit badges are painted on skin. But there are also disabled decal.tga included in decals folder. Enjoy and report bugs. Jarek Hereda EXTRAS. I made strobe pod for RA-5C. with experimental flash/strobe effect. Not satissfied full about but it is uploaded. It works as RP so you got only 64 strobe shots. Effect should be fixed so it will be just quick instant shot. I was thinkin about creating new proper 400gal fuel tanks for A-5/RA-5. But maybe next time. RA-5C tailcone. - Via fake pilot I've added tailcone. So no need to load/unload empty fuel pack. It will always apear on aircraft. I like it this way. Added Aircraft Data.ini file with correct lines for adding strobe pod and fake pilot tailcone. If you don't like it - do not use it. Fixed chaff/flare positions. thanks to Julhelm for templates and RA-5C model. BELL AH-1J SEA COBRA Over the Seven Seas Ver 2.0 for SF2 April 2016 This is a third party add on of the AH-1J Sea Cobra using models and cockpits created by me. The original flight model is standard as on many free to download helicopters. I have just modified it a bit. It is designed for and works only in SF2 series. ************************************************************* This is freeware-donationware; it CANNOT be distrubuted unless permissions are granted by myself. The original readmes, if any, and all other pieces of the package MUST remain intact. The names of all contributors, modders, suppliers, etc =MUST= be listed in any new readmes. This package and any part of it may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions. See the original readme documentation, if any, for further allowances and restrictions Any persons wishing to make further modfications, contact me first. Any persons wishing to make further modfications, MUST remember to put everyone's name in it. Bribes and donations are accepted; ************************************************************* ************************************************************* THIS AIRCRAFT MOD OR ANY PART OF IT MUST NOT BE HOSTED OR POSTED FOR DOWNLOAD ON ANY OTHER WEB SITE WITHOUT MY EXPRESS PERMISSION, OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE THAN THIRDWIRE FLIGHT SIMULATORS, AND MUST NOT BE SOLD OR OFFERED FOR SALE BY ITSELF OR WITH ANY OTHER FILES OR MODS. ************************************************************* Jarek Hereda ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING! This is totaly new file. I highly recomend to backup your old files. OR just delete all old files. Even weapon folders. It is updated here. This is totaly new files and will not work in many parts with old. Also new cockpits included for both 69 and 80 versions. This addon works only with included WeaponPACK. All of weapon stations are made as specific station code and will work only with this weapon pack. Standard commands for activating Cobra features: AIRBRAKES - jump from pilot station to gunner station. ARRESTING HOOK - deploy arresting hook to land on aircraft carrier. LANDING GEAR - belly light deploy/retract at any speed. Don't forget to fold before shooting. A2A mode - gunner station guncross for turret. A2Ground mode - pilot M60 gunsight cross. ANIMATION 7 - turret doors ANIMATION 8 - ammo bay dooors ANIMATION 9 - gunner door (ext and cockpit view) ANIMATION 10 - pilot door (ext and cockpit view) For take off: Around 75% of throttle vector (small needle on RPM clock in cockpit should be like 65degree up) - (default ctrl + ) and then increase power to 70-85% (or more for quick lift) and pull controll stick little and snake will take off. Then reduce throttle vector as needed and reduce power to 69%. It should fly around 110kts now. 69% is about cruising speed. When on the ground you can see rotating blades for pitch and roll. Just additional and unnecesary thing (not visible so much when flying) but it is possible so it is there. Not working like i want but better then nothing. There are two different pylons on inboard stations one for rocketpods one for gunpods. Just to have a proper angle of fire with GP. It is not proper for real model but in my opinion best what can be done for SF engine. Rocket pods are ok with correct angle on inboard stations. To take off from ship. Increase throttle realase brake. Or. Incrase throttle around 75% of throttle vector controll and then realase brake. Landing on ship. Aproach. Reduce speed using throttle vector controll. Realase hook. Slowly aproach matching speed with vessel and reducing altitude to deck height. Hit deck. Needs practice but it is easy. Catapult on deck are set 10cm higher than regular deck level. So aircraft is 'hovering' 10cm above deck. It must be this way since these vesseles are not supportin aircraft carrier operations. It is just fooling game engine. All serial numbers are historicaly correct and based on available documents. I divided models into three sub packs. Weapons, guns, sounds are common to every part. Models 69 and 80 in diferent packs are still same model it is made this way for specific game mod. Vietnam pack 69 model. HML-367 'Scareface' Marble Mountain 1971 HMA-369 'Marhukers' Operation MARHUK USS Cleveland, USS Denver Desert Storm pack 80 model HMA-773 'Sea Cobras' USS New Orleans 1991 HMA-775 'Coyotes' Camp Smith, Saudi Arabia 1991 Wings Over Europe/North Atlantic/Mediterranean Sea and anywhere. 69 model: HMM-263© Det.HMA-269 USS Guadalcanal 1975 HMM-162© Det.HMA-269 USS Guadalcanal 1976 (I am not sure if BuNos and modex are 100% correct here) HMH-362© Det.HMA-269 USS Guadalcanal 1976 HMM-262© Det.HMA-169 USS Tarawa 1979 (I am not sure if BuNos and modex are 100% correct here) 80 model" semi fictional skins (serial numbers are correct for J mode but not sure all of them apeard in HMA -169 HMA-169 'World Famous Vipers' Two skins early green and mid-late 80s tri color version. This unit used AH-1J until 1986. This skin is based on photos but serial numbers are not 100% correct. Those are real SeaCObra numbers but fictional for this unit. However numbers started with 159 were present in this unit. Optional files: Two navy ships LHA and LPD class. Converted to USMC service. So in single mission, player flight will start from ship. (Water map needed) Both with landing deck. Experimental lights on deck of LPD class ship. Credits to Fubar for his carrier lights pack. Weapons included. One more thing. I am using mostly standard weapon effects. Make sure to edit it your way if you decide to use this weapons. During late 70 Marines tested scoop exhaust like US Army on G model. There are just a few photos with this mod. Here in game it will apear for a while in 1976-1978. It doesn't do anything. Since there is no IR suppresion in game. It is just for look and fun factor. In 80's model there is ALQ-144 IR Jammer. Since ther is no IR Jamming in game it is just very weak jammer. you can turn it on but don't count on jamming. Pilots: I am using usnpilots by OldDiego. Not included. SOme pilots models might be too big for this helo. Instalation: Copy all files into specific folders. Sounds: For M197gatling sound copy the lines from SOUNDLIST ADDON to your soundlist ini file. Squadrons: Add specific entrys form Squadronlist addon to your squadron list. Enjoy. Edit your way. File Name: Big Safari I. Recce 135. File Submitter: yakarov79 File Submitted: 07 June 2015 File Category: Other RC-135 mod Ver 1.5 for SF2 DISCLAIMER ---------- This is a third party add on of the RC-135 using Mirage Factory model. All credit to creator of original pack. Mission equipment via fake pilot is made by me. Skins are original from great Mirage Factory C-135A/B and KC-135A/E/R 1.0 pack. uploaded by Dave. -> http://combatace.com/files/file/12454-mirage-factory-c-135ab-and-kc-135aer/ I just repainted few things. Added bits here and there. All decals Tail numbers and nose numbers are made by me. The rest (national insigina etc) is from original pack. Hangar and loading screens by Me. It is designed for and works in the SF2 series of games. This mod is only for CombatAce. Any part of it can't be used in any comerical products. ********************************************************* Original ReadMe: ********************************************************* Mirage Factory C-135A/B and KC-135A/E/R for SF2. No pit included. Great for using in the mission editor. To make flyable please follow these instructions: http://combatace.com/topic/20789-how-to-make-ai-planes-flyable/ Enjoy Dave USAFMTL ********************************************************* ***************************** UPDATE NOTES ***************************** IMPORTANT. Update by 76.IAP-Blackbird. All credits to him. He did great job on this. He fixed airbrakes and put engine reverse thrust into specified models with TF33 / JT3D engines. If you already have this pack. You can download just update data.ini of each aircraft. file Updated_Aircraft_Data_only.rar Please copy data.ini file of aircraft model into specific folder in game mod folder. Do not use Data.ini of on emodel on other. Even if file name is same. Example. RC-135U_70 got different data.ini file than model _80 or _90. So you need to copy each aircraft data.ini file from each folder of this update into yours game folders. Just keep this in mind to avoid mess with fake pilot RC mods. Or you can download whole updated pack and overwrite yuor game files. If you are downloading it for the first time. No need to download update. It has already updated ini files. You need FakePilot mod to run this pack. This is Beta version which means: - I never finished avionics work. I was trying to do something but lack of time...and it will take me months. So ther is no specific avionics for every model. Just one generic. And it is not working. It really needs some avionics work. - Skins could be better. I just simple deleted some lines here and there but I've never put so much attention to weathering etc. - Cokpit is from B-52. Just for test flights. It is included. I don't remember who made this. All credit to him. - All birds are set as Bobmer so they can fly high. - For sure it needs some ini work. - It need still some work. But only if i will find time. Better to upload it now than never. So for now it is realased as in condition. Pack includes RC-135C Big Team. RC-135D Rivet Brass. RC-135E Lisa Ann / Rivet Amber. RC-135M Rivet Card. RC-135S Rivet Ball. first S version under name Wanda Belle and later Rivet Ball. RC-135S Cobra Ball early as in 1969 RC-135S Cobra Ball as in early eighties. RC-135S Cobra Ball current version as rebuild in mid nineties. RC-135U Combat Sent early version with 'Towel Rails' and first paint scheme RC-135U Combat Sent still early version but with new paint scheme. RC-135U COmbat Sent late version as modified in late eighties. RC-135V Rivet Joint eary version of V model with LTV mission equipment RC-135V Rivet Joint late rebuild with E-Systems humps. RC-135W Rivet Joint RC-135W Rivet Joint as above but with new engines. All serial numbers are historicaly correct. Same as names. All aircraft were names as code + number "Combat Sent II or Cobra Ball I etc.) I have no information about everything. Info about any of it would be great. Especialy about Rivet Card. Since whole mod is made via fake pilot there are some limitations. Biggest "no" for me is first S- Cobra Ball where 663 and 664 carried little different set of sensors. Some aircrafts were upgraded later than other in same model group. So service date is generic as first aircraft of block build was issued. Example: first Cobra Ball was flying already 1969 (663 number) but second (664 number) was delivered in 73 if I remember correctly. Same with other aircrafts, they were never delivered same year. There were few fancy nosearts spotted on RCs but...not this time. Maybe later with some updates Instalation: Copy subfolders to specific folders in your mod directory. Aircraft,Pilots, Decals. Thats it. Enjoy. Report bugs. Keep an eye on enemy. Jarek Hereda Reference: The History of Big Safari, Colonel Bill Grimes. great web of recce wisdom by Kingdon R. Hide Pylon question.
yakarov79 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Ok here is a deal. I got aircraft. With lot of parts etc. I need to add two independent gunpods sometiems. But I want some nodes be removed when GP is loaded. Meaning pylon should disapear when gp is loaded. So. Nodes should apear all the time on slick configuration. Those nodes are even animated. Here everything works fine. Now I need to load two gunpods. And I want those nodes to be removed/moved/rotated. I will answer myself. Yes it is possible. In wicked way. And it works. Gunpods loaded - specific "open" pylon active, apearing, everything is fine. For slick config - create "noweapon" weapon - always loaded on slick standard node as pylon activated "close" - it works and even can be animated. No problem. Everything is fine. Issue is on parking. There pylons are not working. So here I don't have node in standard slick way or gunpod way. Nothing. Hole in fuselage. Any bright ideas ? I can create third node that apear only as animation when parked. But this is not the way. And I don't have empty slots for animations anymore. -

New "delivery" effect in misileobject.ini ? New ground effect name. New wreckobject ? Just guessing Something like paratroopers years ago by Killerbee ? I am not sure if i remember corectly. Or if it works. -

Thanks. I will try it. Here how it looks for now: "Slick" way. At this point top hatch is closed and can be open via animation.(plus lower door). To make it closed I'm using fake weapon - "noweapon". So when "noweapon" is loaded hatch is closed. Gunner mounted. Top hatch is lifted and and lower part of door is closed. Bottom part can be open via animation as above. Upper part stays lifted when gunner is on board. And parking before I started messing with gunner. Blades folded, tail folded etc. And here hatch was closed by default. But now with new weaponstation and pylon issue on parking it is open always. Same as if I will not load anything. No gunner, no "noweapon" there is a hole in fuselage as pylons are not apearing. Will try your way anyway. -

This is great. Many thanks. p.s. Early models with P&W J57 shouldn't have this engine mod entry right ? Like RC-135D and 135S Rivet Ball.
