  1. IF, like me, you made mistake and installed the buggy March 2010 patch, the new ExpPack installer corrects subtitles among other things tanks are quite detailed, AAA is now very aggresively firing at you
  2. round and round the sad thing is many many good people here contributed and spent a lot of their precious time to build the KB, yet some still...
  3. Icarus999, try the 512x512 textures version available for download, should help keep playable framerates
  4. WOI, right? hjave you tried applying the modified parts from IsraelME_data.ini Canadair posted?
  5. There's only one difference between FE2 and SF2E -the single tile of default terrains in FE2 covers 500x500 meters while single tile in SF2 series is 2x2 kilometers -the smaller tile to populate allows for better detail and amount of objects (by some 16 times!) nothing to do with the engine, really
  6. wasn't one of the ideas behind Series2 to ease things and end the separate installs?
  7. no, not the Trees folder, only the files from inside of it , these files should go to your terrains/IsraelME/
  8. Thanks Canadair to be honest, I didn't know that ANSI vs. Unicode thing is so important. I switched to new series, not going back I'm affraid
  9. must be one of those "town" tiles, will search when time permits me to do so
  10. good news remember to apply the fix for trees (only if you use them!) I posted two posts above
  11. one more thing, there were few bad entries in IsraelME_data.ini regarding tree-shape tga files used on specific tiles, causing odd looking trees on several tiles, here's the adjusted data, just in case you use trees or trees with heightmaps: be warned, as this data is for SF2I, if you have your own version modified for WOI, copy the section starting from [Texture140] to the end of file, and paste to your own WOI version of IsraelME_data.ini
  12. try the 512x512 tileset version uploaded by USAFMTL, lower resolution textures still look good and might help
  13. Don't fence me in

Only thing is you can't see great wall of China from space
  14. yes, and remember to rename the ini files accoring to new terrain folder name
  15. Thanks! I was going to make WW2 version once, but never actually forced self to do so
  16. 10 post back  post #12 page 1 of this thread
  17. ok, you're sure it was in a city? Because I did not create new city tod files...
  18. Tried and I like it! Really good rework of original, with all the additional targets and objects. DS tileset fits nicely too! bombing supplies in the downtown is a joy!
  19. Spectre_USA, remember heightmaps are somehow buggy, which is covered in readme; seems to be either terrain mesh detail option in IsraelME_data.ini or flightengine.ini related, trying to adjust the settings to fix it -mountains with heightmaps looks simply better
  20. Kevin, the pity is, with current terrain engine half of the tiles are "wasted" for transitions. IMO the soft fading between the different type surfaces would look similarily good -see IL2 or OFF/cfs3 for example the tile is one of my samples I did for Israel repaint btw.
  21. nothing fancy, in fact it's medium one I think: E8200@2,66 4GB RAM 400+300GB drives overclocked 8800GT 512ram 32-bit win7 but I play on 1280x1024 (my 4:5 monitor native resolution) and have around 25-35 depending on scene complexity, don't expect 50+ framerates on this machine edit: Icarus, Piecemeal: it's not so many trees in Taiwan plains, so currently it's not that accurate -in fact the trees layout is adopted from yet another thing I work on; yes, it's for Gepard's one
  22. I like RAZBAM Skyraiders, actually strike mission on chinese side, there will be less trees in the final version still working on it
