  8. Do you know this author?

You guys should see his Me-262, but I don't remember links to it... Guy's top modeller @Kukulo: About "too detailed" models -we don't know full potentials of SFP1 series engine I think... TK left many marks of interesting features that he later abandoned or stopped developing in core files (eg -helicopter type objects...)
  9. the tod files and detailmesh dissappears at around 13300 feet alt.
  10. I was trying in [AlphaObjectTextureMaterial] in terrains data.ini Edit: No, it still doesn't work for me, when setting alphatestenabled=FALSE in environmentsystem.ini under [CloudMaterial]
  11. It doesn't help. Must be related with detailmeshsize= related other way. edit: but I've tried a lot to get rid of this square doing treemods, and no luck on it yet a tought -maybe setting CullMode=NO_CULL to other values will help, but CULL, COUNTERCLOCKWISE and CLOCKWISE doesn't help either
  12. Ravenclaw_007, Do you managed to set the detailmeshsize to 20? I'm getting CTD setting it higher than 17, which seems to be enough to kill framerate on most computers, but also satisfying in appearance: My setting are lower than Fubar's: [FarSceneClip] FarClipDistance=120000.0 NearClipDistance=3000.0 [NormalSceneClip] FarClipDistance=50000.0 NearClipDistance=249.9 [NearSceneClip] FarClipDistance=250.0 NearClipDistance=1.2 @Fubar512 "Out of curiosity, what was your intent with increasing the detail mesh value?" -to increase tod files rendering range..? or is there any other method? And thanks for posting your values, will check them too!
  13. On final, busy with Cuba tree mod ATM. Will upload this weekend !
  14. X RAY, Have you tried manually setting anizotropy filtering to x8 or x16? I have similar issue with WOI when setting Nvidia CP to "application decide" -other TW titles by default use high anizo and antialiasing settings, but WOI runs without them (at least without antialianing at all in my case!). I have 8800 GT 512, and as you have very powerful card(s), you won't probably loose a thing in frames by setting anizotropy filtering to high values.
  15. C5, great to know you are planning to make NF3! Any chances of adding more RED side airforces (GDR, Poland, Czechoslovakia)? If you'll need some tuning/upgrating of my forests mod, I'll be happy to participate.
  16. Just to notify I'm having IPS Drive Error messages today when accessing anything on CA. Haven't got such one in few months. Anyone else, or just my side error?
  17. Yeah, seems they solved the problem.
  18. Happy Birthday to.....

Happy Birthday Marc! May the Force be with you Jedi Master! Always
  19. A Good Sim You Aren't Playing

Yes, dogfight are epic, even in quick mission mode
  20. I am speechless Julhelm. Boots look ok
  21. A Good Sim You Aren't Playing

I bought it few months ago, I think it's underrated solid simulation, good revamp of an old gem (Rowan's BoB). However, there are few issues that bothers me: Strategy -Like kesegy pointed out, I'd prefer "simple" pilot's point of view, squadrons and resource managing through all the windows is still hard and confusing thing (have been flying Mig Alley since 2000) Graphics are very good minding the core engine years, apart those multiple layered top clouds, which tends to disappear on my ATI (newer GeForce works ok) It's really, really hard one on full realism, first few missions I wasn't even able to pursuit and intercept bombers Some objects (ships) are straigh from original BOB, may change with patch In fact it's stable from 2.05 up (currently playing 2.06). And things that shine and makes it worth buying: AI! Pits -have that good old EAW feel, good detail and performance Dogfights -it's best at portraying WW2 furballs, had Pacific Fighters for a short period of time, that battles compared to BoB 2 are tiny Radio and ground control -declaring emergencies, leader calls ("That's it! Shoot him!"), many many excellent voices Clouds and lighting are nice, aswell as that watershader Developers seem to include best from user made content into it, as seems by the 2.08 preview This topic makes me wanna launch it this evening And I look forward to their new upcoming title focusing on Burma and P-40 + a new terrain engine Post Scriptum: Don't know if you are aware but there is an action sim called "Air Battles: Sky Defenders" which is in fact BoB 2 without campaign (only BoB 2 customizable instant action missions), switchable action-style HUD display and different terrain textures, plus few others tweaks, have it too.
  22. Happy b-day America :)

    Happy Independence Day!
  23. Can you spot it? EDIT: Here's a quick test of current version, recorded at 2x time -I have trial Fraps which limits to only 30 seconds of recording, so I speeded things up to give you the rough idea: It's at beta stage, I aim at ease of installation, without messing with enviroment of flightengine files
