  1. Some bomber squadrons (flying Stuka, He-111, Do-17 and Ju-88) selectable in the Battle of Britain by Baltika. Not sure about his Burning Sands 1944.
  2. Good news regarding ballistics and such. I did some ini tweaking and it turned out that we can have different smoke tracers for different gun types. Have been doing some fx tests, and now I have individual smokes for .303 Brownings or MG17 and other for 20 mm MGFF's. It gives you a nice view when bursting 3xMGFF and 2xMG17 at Blenheim. Another thing. Haven't your morale dropped first time when it turned out that 8 machineguns can't reach that slow Dornier 0.5-0.6 mile away? The "dissapearing bullets" thing. Perhaps this matter was already discussed in other topic but anyway. It can be easily solved by changing one number in BULLETOBJECT.INI (in Objects folder). Line: MinBulletMach=0.7 defines minimal projectile's speed (in mach, about 533 Mph) below which it's simply removed from world. It's as simple as changing to sometching like MinBulletMach=0.35 to extend the bullet's range. Downside is that more power is required for additional calculations, having some impact on my trusty old komp. Cheers CA_Stary
  3. Hi Baltika! Somehow skipped this topic Yes, BS'44 runs extremaly well on my SF Gold 8.30.06 version. As I already wrote in the BoB threat, Burning Sands 1944 got it for me. The views/downloads ratio problem is that they ain't enlightened ones. Yet As for v0.60 upgrade -Regia Aeronautica you say? I feel so gooood S!
  4. Thank for link, Baltika, reading it now. As for effects, wait until bigger release but no hurry. I will post some parts from time to time for your feedback
  5. About the Brit voice pack. Great idea indeed. But the 3 o'clock thing can be tricky. My wingmen often gives me warning of bandits on my tail, but full clock reference? Is it in SF? I haven't meet with it. And how about german chatter in background? There's mod for WoV with continuous carrier ops background chatter-so it's possible to do something like that for BoB. Also things like your unlucky teamate saying: "Damn I'm hit!" and german "Ich habe eine!" in the background. We always can borrow wavs from abandoned titles like Jane's WW2 Fighters The odd thing is that they still say such things even when they vaporize in ground crash. btw. Glad to hear about BS'44 update
  6. Ok men, here's tiny preview of what I'm working on now: New smoke tracers New aircraft smoke New guns effects Unzip to your effects folder. If you have any of my previous releases let it overwrite older files. !!! VERY IMPORTANT!!! In your PARTICLESYSTEM.INI (if you don't have it in your Flight folder, extract it from FlightData.cat) change the following (2nd row from top): MaxParticlesPerEmitter=512 to MaxParticlesPerEmitter=2048 otherwise it won't work&look as it should Get it here: EDIT: Bad thing is that there's FPS impact which i will hopefully reduce in future. In TracerSmokeEmitter.ini is a line with descriptions how to change quality -you'll find it easily Remember it's BETA Feedback, opinions and suggestions welcome
  7. Reddevil911, sure it will be avaiable for D/L, but only when everything is finished, which will take "some" time, I assume. Matching with guncams is my priority
  8. Great job Baltika !!! I really enjoy it's mood -old good EAW spirit- aswell as the Burning Sands 1944. I started mayor rework of my previously released effects (guns_fx and enchanced_explosions) to make them more WW2 themed. Also working on new ones specially for your campaigns. Interested in it? All below is WIP completely new smoke tracers, I guess customisable for diffetent types of guns (thru weapon editor) but havent played with that yet New smoke effects; darker, longer lasting, with nice little "bang" on start (screen from BS1944)
  9. BigRed, I think it's "just" a movie. The best WOE movie to date IMHO.
  10. Thank You Our FX Master! btw. any progress on your annouced Effect Pack 4?
  11. How the heck did you come up with that?

And why is that they always used to call me "Stary"? Hence -CA_Stary. Was it part of my surname, or was it that they always talked that i look older than i actually was... (reall I do) (i know, it's funny joke only for us Poles, right Zurawski and Zurawiecki? ) And CA does not stand for California. It stands for Combat Ace (and heh i live in Krakow, among other places)
  12. I'll be working more on bombs in a week or two as time allows. Yes Saganuay82, you're right -I've watched lots of clips, and the dust is kicked by blast mostly horizontally. But i wanted these effects to be "Hollywood style" -you know, overdone, oversized and so on, not realistic (think of Pearl Harbor or other movies), When a 500lb GP bomb goes off in real there is almost no fire. But i decided to do them this way. Just for fun, not for pure realism.
  13. Smoke graphics are animated 4-stage sprites. I've playing with them also, but didn't liked the effect, so they are not included. I'm not strong at doing animated sprites. Also it's hard to set them to blend well. Maybe in future, who knows? (I do )
  14. Haven't noticed any tearing/ghosting in SF. Never. Occasionaly little in fast shooters and Arma. But it depends on locations etc i guess. Cheap 19'' 8ms.
  15. Enhanced Explosions

    Version

    3,197 downloads

Enhanced Explosions by CA_Stary For SF, WoV and WoE. This mini-pack uses some graphics from my guns_fx, which were in turn based on some .tga files created by Deuces. In this mini-pack you will find some reworked original effects. Since i've switched from close range WW2 and Korea dogfighting to more modern medium range missile engagements (WoE rules!) i started working on some enhancements to stock effects. This is not a complete effect pack (Deuces is best at that), rather an addition. Reworked effects include: Aircraft explosions -with new big hot fireballs and lots of burning parts thrown randomly into air, now ground crashes look more realistic Aircraft fuel fire -new longer fire trail than in original, fueltanks blow, random bursts of fuel Small/medium/large missile air explosions -different from original, now with more intense fireballs, smoke clouds, sparks Small/medium/large bomb effects (beta) -differ by size and look, i'm not fully satisfied with those, but I decided to throw them in. Think of those as of beta Also included are some .tga files from my previous guns_fx pack, as some of the new materials definitions use them
  16. Everything is working with no problems for me at latest patches. On a scaled updated terrain. Just a minor ini work if i remember correctly.
  17. Welcome Shashman. You can use excellent A-26C cockpit with bombsight by Kesselbrut, aviable here at CA: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=4078 I personally use it when flying most of medium bombers -that's of course not correct but the bombardier view compensaters for it. And it's quite accurate
  18. I don't have a credit card, so thanks (but YES i do have a bank account:-)). I think we shouldn't blame Edward -it's his (somehow strange) decision to go payware. Excellent as all his yob, of course -but a bit too much for a pure repaint. And so goes all the hypo and waiting away:-( Post Scriptum: My own opinion -too much of payware will kill SF community
  19. I don't say they're bad, most of those are meant to be one-evening relaxators:-) And yes, those shooters based on IIRC Chrome2 engine are looking even good.
  20. Yep 76.IAP-Blackbird, i visit it from time to time. great pics to watch. Bad think is there aren't any non-US planes Main site is at www.uscockpits.com
  21. Hi squid! City Interactive is a polish developer, aiming at budget market -mainly simple action packed arcade flight games, and FPS. They sell copies in Poland in markets for about 3 to 8 dollars (9 to 20 polish zloty) for a title so you see... Nothing special really. They develop using they own engine or licensed ones (ChromE in some of "Terrorist Takedown" series, Unreal in "Redneck Kentucky and the next generation chickens"). I buy some of those rarely just to kill boredoom. They are fun, i admitt -for an hour or so...
  22. Nice work grumpapotamus! If only we had user-friendly tools to populate terrains with such alikes...
