  1. Thanks, works great! I tried that earlier, but overlooked the spelling mistake...
  2. A lot of gray VMA-131 Diamondbacks VMA-142 Flying Gators VMA-211 Wake Island Avengers VMA-214 Black Sheep VMA-311 Tomcats
  3. These inis are already in the latest cockpit-repaint (v1.2). I did many of them for that cockpitupdate and additionally added the ones where the repaint is still to be done (A to C+L) to complete this ini-update for all variants available. Have fun. :)
  4. File Name: Thirdwire A-4E to K Cockpit Repaint File Submitter: Nyghtfall File Submitted: 27 October 2015 File Category: Jet Cockpits Thirdwire A-4E/F/G/H/K Cockpit Repaint by Nyghtfall v1.2 ======================================================== *** SF2V, SF2I, DLC 002 (A-4G) and DLC 005 (A-4K) required for the according Skyhawk-Models *** *** tested in full 5-merged installation *** Update v1.2 =========== All A-4E-based cockpits are now included with a repaint similar to the A-4F from the initial release, together with updated cockpit.inis: - A-4E, E_65, E_67, A_Ahit, E_Ahit_73 - A-4F, F_74, F_Ahit - A-4G - A-4H_Ahit, H_Ahit_68, H_Ahit_70, H_Ahit_73 - A-4K Early Variants (A-4A to C and L) will follow later, as they require some more paintwork. Update v1.1 =========== Crusader did some excellent cockpit.ini-tweaks and corrected the following issues: - chaff/flare counter entries for the A-4F_74 (one counter for chaff, one for flares) - added entry for the ECM Control knob, will switch from "Rec" to "Rpt" if ECM is turned on - ECM box, "Rec" light, new function, now works as Type=THREAT_SAM_WARNING_LIGHT . Thats the normal operating setting of the ECM, light indicates that emissions are received and ECM can be switched to transmit. - Spoilers Indicator light - changed entry to use external animation link function, now the spoiler light works correctly (gears extended and ground contact, airbrake extended) Initial Release v1.0 ==================== This is a repaint for Thirdwire's Stock A-4F and A-4F(74) Cockpits. While working on a proper A-4PTM-Cockpit based on the A-4F-one, this was a secondary result and maybe someone will find it useful. I aimed for an worn look and instruments, that are a bit darker than the stock ones and so I redid most instruments. I also corrected the font used on the instruments (special thanks to The Trooper for the font!). A slightly changed cockpit.ini for both planes is provided also. I corrected the ArrestingHook- and Gearlever, which are rotating levers now (rather than sliding ones). Known Issues ============= - Landinggear-Lever only turns 47° instead of 90° --> In the Cockpit-LOD, the lever-mesh is missing the bottom, so I used this, to avoid a visible hole. 5. I updated the pack and it now includes repaints for all A-4E/E_Ahit, F/F_Ahit, G, H_Ahit and K cockpits, aswell as updated cockpit.inis. Have fun!
  6. YES...I'll wait a hundred years for you to finish this! I have the Flight Manuals for A-4E/F/G and early A-4M in case you need them for further information.
  7. I will sent you the pack, when I'm back home next weekend. I also can do some USMC-skins if you like. VMA-311 HighVis (around 1978/79) is finished and I have some references for VMA-331 HighVis (1980). I will also sent you the A-4KU-skins I did recently. Mandatory screenshot Malaysian A-4PTM Cockpit
  8. Already in the data.ini. But the problem here is, that you can see the original windshield in external view behind the modded one.
  9. The A-4M comes from stuff Dan (dtmdragon) sent me some time ago, containing all Skyhawk II (A-4AR, A-4KU, brazilian AF-1, A-4N). Seems like, he never released this package, as I could find only the Israeli A-4N as seperate pack --> http://combatace.com/files/file/14606-a-4n-ahit-pack-for-sf2/ in the donwload-area. As there isn't a proper A-4M/N, all models are based on A-4F, F74 and H73 with a Kfir-cockpit. Unfortunately the windshield is part of the nose, so it cannot be removed like the canopy. Dans workaround was to paint it black, which works well, but if you look close enough, of course you see it. Nevertheless nice work he has done there. I hope this helps.

  11. Small, but mighty - some desert action!
  12. Some more "Tomcats" EDIT: Of course VMA-311 Tomcats are a MARINES-squadron rather than a NAVY-one....Sorry for such a mistake and thanks Killerbee for mentioning it!
  13. I'd say let the exporter-developer decide which program to use...the easiest to create exporter (if one can say this) it will be. The only prerequisite would be, that the program has to be free. Otherwise I'd vote for Blender, but can live with any decision.
  14. Good to hear that. Maybe I should finally switch to a more modern pictureviewer. :)
  15. You can use different methods, to get rid of it. variant 1 (original TW style): use a black background and use the alpha-layer for the actual numbers only. variant 2: use whatever background you want (I usually use colors similar to camoflage-colors), paint the number in black and make the alpha-layer a bit smaller than the painted number. I recommend using a larger font size and resize the .tga later. With small fontsizes making the alpha-layer smaller by 1 or 2px may distort the number or letter. It's basically v1, but you can see whats in the picture with every pictureviewer. In v1 you often only see a black picture. If needed, I can do some quick reference file for v2.
  16. I don't believe in an official exporter update by TK for any price at all, judging from his treatment of the modding community in the past years. But who knows, maybe someone with a good connection to him would be able to get at least a number from him....not sure who that person could be though.
  17. Blender on Windows has a strange operating philosophy....many things that are standard in Windows (shortcuts, etc.) simply don't work the way you would expect them to do. So the best used feature of it is the undo-button. But you get used to it somehow, if you regularly work with it. The idea of paying mue for new exporters instead of TK is a very good one! I guess his price would be much fairer than TKs. ;)
  18. In my opinion, this is one of the essential things to solve for medium/long term. There will possibly always be 3D-guys around in SF2. I'm pretty sure though, that their number will not increase over time, if things are bound to 3dMax2009-32bit, as time (and IT) moves on. Helpful people are great, but you cannot always count on the good will of a decreasing number of 3D-guys, that want to to their own stuff too. Sometimes, things are solved by trial and error, which is also very difficult to do, if you don't own the exact 3dMax version. Just my 2c
  19. Thanks Crusader, these are great tweaks! I especially like the spoiler-solution. I will update the CockpitRepaint-pack this weekend.
  20. For the SF2/A-4 Skyhawk section. Screenshots are from the packs. Maybe this helps http://combatace.com/files/file/9151-a-4g-skins-sf2-sfv2/ http://combatace.com/files/file/11641-a-4m-usmc-low-vis-grey-skin/ http://combatace.com/files/file/12846-naws-china-lake-a-4c/ http://combatace.com/files/file/12946-notu-a-4e-skyhawk/ http://combatace.com/files/file/12861-vx-5-a4d-2-a-4b-skyhawk/ http://combatace.com/files/file/12860-natc-a4d-a-4a-skyhawk/
  21. Cold War jets at Collings

    Great article! Thanks
  22. A-4H_AHIT_72

The actual name is different from the foldername: A-4H_Ahit = Ahit (72) A-4H_Ahit_68 = Ahit Ahit (70) and Ahit (73) are correct. I like your idea of Israeli Skyhawks, but since my hebrew is non-existent, I never tried to do skins for them. If you want to wait a bit, I can provide you a new template I'm working on (higher resolution, corrected panellines and several shortcomings on the old template).
