well shucks. The amazon bug bit me and now I await CH Combatstick 568, CH pro throttle, and CH pro pedals. I've heard and read so many positive things about CH products that when it came down to looking at purchasing this "investment", it was too easy. I cant believe how expensive the other brands are for their similar products. For a little over $250, I was able to get all of this, compared to just a stick and throttle from other brands. Just for grins, how much give does a real stick in a real fighter jet give? I know they don't have feedback as in you wont feel the wind rushing against your control surfaces, but how stiff is the stick (get your mind out of the gutters..) ?

I think I understand where some of you are coming with by saying the F-15C is old and outdated. However, what other mass produced fighter can honestly defeat the eagle in air to air? The physical airframe may be tired, but the design itself is still, in my opinion, competitive.

I checked out his site, and seen what can be purchased from him. Is there a way anyone that has contact with him can bring up the idea of putting up his RF-8 and/or F-100F (actually any unique aircraft) up for sale individually? If this is out of line, I'll shut up, but from a sales approach, he might make a few shillings by selling those instead of waiting for people to buy the entire set up.

I don't think the AF will merge with the Army. Multirole has been done in the venerable F-4 Phantom II (Air to Ground, Air to Air, Air Defense, Recon, Air Defense Suppression) but it was a large enough airframe that they could do all that with it. At the same time however, the AF also had particular aircraft that did those roles as their single purpose. If the AF see's that unmanned stealth drones are the future, then why pump money into the F-35? Why not get rid of this plane which is costing more than its worth, invest in upgraded F-16s and the Silent Eagle type and put out a competition for an unmanned stealth fighter/attack aircraft developed on the company's own dime.

If the AF cans the F-15C, what airframe will take over the air defense mission? The eagles at PANG here in Oregon are the only unit to provide this mission in the NW. If I recall correctly, they just got an upgrade to allow them to track and shoot down cruise missiles. Point is, there aint enough F-22s around to fill the void left behind if F-15C gets retired. The F-35 it seems is just a sponge soaking up more and more money to add features that should have been on the design in the first place.

This is awesome! But, I noticed on the pictures that you aren't using the basic pilot models. Which ones are you using?

I built this monster gaming rig last Christmas and it can max out essentially any game on the market right now no problems. Where BF3 brings some rigs down to a crawl, this thing destroys it. However, during some missions, namely some of the missions in linebacker 2, where I have B-52s dropping thousands of bombs, a gazillion SAMs, flack so thick you can walk on it and MiGs all over the sky like fireflies, it turns into a power point slide show. My question is, how much RAM is enough? Is it a shortcoming on my system or is the game just being overloaded? Are there any ini tweaks I can do to boost the game system to run smoother during these high intensity missions?

Just a heads up, while we're talking about all these cool things to do with SF2, check out Gapa-Gamma. I use it on my custom install for IL2 1946 and it makes the game look so much better. So, today, I decided to try it on SF2. Same results - utter awesomeness. Here is a link to the IL2 forum page which has screenshots and the download link. I've been recently dabbling in some minor skinning for my own personal purposes and while they are not the best, its fun and I've gained a greater appreciation from those of the community that turn out these high quality skins. I've downloaded the newly updated F-106 and I'm having lots of fun with it. While the skins and such have been updated to an extreme level of awesomeness, I don't believe that the cockpit was ever touched since it debuted in the SFP1 days. I've opened the cockpit files and see all the parts for it. My question, if I were to attempt a repaint of the cockpit, do I need anything else than photoshop to complete this? Thanks!

ok. that's makes sense. my i5 3570 is a workhorse. Could you expect any more performance increase from an i7? Im getting the notion that the game itself wont really utilize the added power available.

I guess some time in the future I will break down and get one too. Im really looking forward to the oculus rift and hoping it is somewhat affordable. The shoot voice recognition software was amazing, and I cant believe how for years I was keying through the menus. So much better. On my to buy list is 1. rudder pedals 2. replacement for my budget thurstmaster t. flight x (just happy I have a separate throttle)

Me and the girlfriend were watching it after I came back from drill. Got to admit, there are some really exciting and violent parts, but there seemed to be a lot of lulls which in turn, put her and me to sleep. I do want to see 3 though. Mel Gibson as the bad guy should be interesting!

Im still holding out for: RF-8 Updated F-106 and that nice F-5 but, there is a whole lot of content here, and I'm still mastering the F-102!

After nearly 8 years downloading other skins made by the community, I figured I'd give it a go instead of asking for someone else to make it for me. I booted up photoshop, downloaded the HD F-105 templates by Centurion and started. There is still a lot to do, and I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction. Since the screenshot, I have fixed the metal area around the gun, and have found which part of the template I need to color to get the afterburner intakes colored correctly. Same with the strike camera under the nose. What I need help with is the following: 1) What can I do to the nose to get a more worn look? It looks to clean compared to the rest of the plane. 2) I want to tint the canopy a gold color like some F-16s have. What do I need to do in order to do that? I have gained a lot more respect for the skinners here at CombatACE after attempting this. Thanks for all the outstanding skins over the years!

Any of you guys out there play the game? I picked it up yesterday and have already sunk more hours than I want to admit into it. It's a well balanced game for sure, and a breather from all the modern high tech optics on micro sized M416s and what not. I mean, flamethrowers and satchel charges on Iwo Jima? Its awesome. Check it out, buy it.
