What the A-6E/F Mods lack.

Well what about being able to modify the engine fires so that if you descend and windmill the motor, the fire goes out instead of continuing to burn? The models should have better survivability traits. -
SF1 / WOE Targeting problems
dannavy85 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
So between SF1 and WOE I have problems with the program auto-selecting targets during missions and then I can de-select them to the primary. I have the settings as follows... Alt 1 - Radar select Alt 2 - Previous Radar Alt 3 - Visual select Alt 4 - Previous Visual Alt 5 - deselect current target The only service pack I've added is the one for WOE. SF1 is the orriginal load. -

The latest squadron to be assigned to the USS Ten Bears (CVN-84) began work ups after it's commissioning ceremony at Naval Weapons Center China Lake. VB-6 Black Rams take their liniage from Bombing Squadron Six of World War II which served aboard USS Enterprise (CV-6) in the Pacific Theater. The squadron's first operational detachment day went splendedly with the lead aircraft of the afternoon strike package delivering one Paveway laser guided 2,000 pound bomb, four Mark 20 Rockeye cluster bombs and twelve Mark 82 500 pound bombs on range targets with a hit rate of 98 percent. -

Plausible scenarios - an excuse to make war
dannavy85 replied to slight's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
The 1985 movie "Looking Glass" was a good scenario. The Sultan of Oman is overthrown and the Omani's block the Persian Gulf to international shipping causing a US response. What if we up-gun the scanario to where the Omani's have been taken over by a pro-Teheran regime and they work in cohoots with the Iranians to close the Hormuz Straits? -
The first thing I see wrong with Strike Fighter is the lack of a good user interface for strike package planning. The best I've seen so far is Graphsims F-18 Desert Storm and Korea Gold editions, probably the finest user friendly interface for creating diverse and complex strike packages and it allows for the use of drones and other forms of deception warfare that are now a vital part of strike planning. Hands down you can't beat SF for graphics, realism and all around performance but the SF games need and have needed a better mission editor for some time.

Starting up an Intruder dedicated group for ATAKRON 166 "The Fighting Seeones" named after the wolf pack in Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book". Currently undergoing flight train up and weapons workups at the Red Range to eventually become an online squadron dedicated to all weather, all condition ground attack. "The fighting Seeones" A free people remain free because of good teeth and sharp claws.

North Korea Fighter Pilot Training Video
dannavy85 replied to Nicholas Bell's topic in Military and General Aviation
I remember back in 1995 when the Korean nuclear scare was at its height and I was with MALS 12 in Iwakuni, Japan that we were briefed on the "just in case" scenario should the North decide to commit national suicide and invade the South, and it would be suicide given the disparity in technology. North Korean pilots barely scratch half a day's worth of training per year. A war with the North would be so one sided that unless we were grieviously incompetant...the domination would be a joke. -

I love the A-6F, for guided ordinance the plane's perfect at 10,000 feet, speed 350 knots, release at 1.3 to 1.0 miles from target. Currently I'm working the range to graph an iron bomb ODC (Ordiance Delivery Chart) for level and dive bombing. -
terreign switching on SF1 and 2

Problems with SF1
dannavy85 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi guys, So my SF 1 was working great...until I decided to download the SF service pack, now it keeps crashing every time I try to select OPTIONS. I've removed and reloaded the game twice and the same thing keeps happening. Frustration day for me....I hate Gremlins. Any ideas? -
Fire fighting Intruder Mod request
dannavy85 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I would like to comission an A-6F Intruder II mod for writing purposes, seriously yes, I write anime fictions with a Facegroup book and we're writing a long story now about a grouop of robots who put together an airborne firefighting tanker unit using the A-6F. They call the squadron "Fireknights" and the intruders are fire truck red with yellow decals. I'd love to see how these would look as a flying model. Any takers? -

Some questions about WOE and SF.
dannavy85 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I take it these are common questions about WOE and SF concerning weapons. I have trouble using the LGB and guided ordinance, locking winders on air targets, placing un-guided rockets, simple stuff that over time I'll get used to. The SF class of flight sims is more realistic than what I've previously been used too. Another question is how to load terreigns, such as the bomb range terreigns people have developed for both WOE and SF. Another thing they should have added to the games was a free flight or training regime option like you get with FA-18 Korea and Desert Storn. Gotta learn how to land and take off before you go break things right?
