Current Status - Super Patch
Barkhorn1x replied to Winder's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Now that is a GREAT list!!! I love #'s 7 & 8 as in the morning - before I go off to work - I am time limited and would love to jump into some action that is a bit more complete/realistic than the present Quick Mission options. -
Not so sure that your conclusions are as valid to WWI as they are for WWII. I can't really recall a very effective airfield straffing mission in the Great War. First of all they were not all that common (probably more common in BHAH than in real life). Secondly, twin rifle calibre weapons are just not that effective against ground targets - as opposed to, say, a battery of 8 .50 cal. high ROF guns on a P-47. Finally, I don't see Rickitycrate's advice as being unrealistic (although it does go against a typical human nature response = SCRAMBLE) as it takes advantage of the natural disorganization of enemy a/c after the first sweep.

Current Status - Super Patch

Good deal. Can we get some hints on that, "additional content"? Thanks. -
Answered you in the other thread. Don't spam - we will help you.

Could be a corrupt patch then. So - if V1.0 works then: - re-install one more time - copy the entire V1.0 folder to another directory - patch to 1.30 version, test - then patch it up to 1.30C version, test - then patch it up to 1.31L Version, test One of them is bound to fail and I would d/l that patch again and start patching using your saved V1.0. A pain I know - but that is where this appears to be heading.

Joystick Question for Logitech Force 3D Pro Owners

Ah...but my existing stick - a big ol' Wingman Force - had no twisty functionality. -
Joystick Question for Logitech Force 3D Pro Owners

Well, that's something I guess. Hopefully, the action will be a bit stiff and - as I don't plan to twist it intentionally - will stay that way. -

Well, the good news for you is that you do not have to use the Workshop to change the graphics settings. You can go to (for XP): C:\OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\ and run the CFS3 set-up .EXE Of course, the drawbacks are that you cannot be in the sim when you make the changes and if you want to change sim related settings you will need the Worshop for that. What does that splash screen you see look like anyway? -
I did some testing on this last night and while my CPU is basically crap (Athlon 64 AM2 3500+ [2.4 Ghz]), my card is a heavy hitter (EVGA 9800GT 1Ghz) and I am able to run at 1920x1440x32 bit w/ decent frames (for me). And the sim looks fabulous. But hey, don't take our word for it. Just put your sliders on an acceptable leve and test your frames - via the "Z" key - at different rez levels. You will become a believer.

Took some very nice Jasta 5 shots. So, where are they stored anyway.

That's the one - thanks.

...looks like it. It was a bit flaky for some time but this morning I was flying a DVII and the planes nose would rise to about a 35 degree angle despite downward pressure on the stick. It would then subside after about 10 seconds, only to start again about 30 seconds later. It is not getting better either. I have an 8 year old Wingman Force - an excellent stick for its time. So, can one of you fine fellows give me an idea of a good FF stick as a replacement? Thanks.
-
Logitech Force it is then. Sold! Ordering tomorrow.

You are one talented guy homeboy!! -
Uncleal: How's the responsiveness on the Cyborg? Can you lock the stick so it doesn't twist? I have pedals so I don't need that feature.
-
You must do it manually and the .DDS files go here - for XP: C:\OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData\skins - don't know the Vista structure.
-
Good job Homeboy.

This is the only flght sim that has addressed the weirdest switch in military aviation history.

I think Firepower is another CFS3 based mod. In which case; NO - OFF is NOT compatible with Firepower the two have NO relation to each other. Follow Herr Prop-Wasche's instructions and all will be well. -
Ok..Whats going on with the DR1?

Wow, nice collection Shredward. -
This has probably been covered before so pardon me for repeating this question if that is the case. So, why are the aces always in flight #1 and the player in flight #2 with the other stooges? Can the player ever fly with the aces or is this some sort of game limitation that we must live with? Thanks.
-
Understood that it may not be at the top of the list - but this would be "wicked cool".
-
Great point Olham!!
-
Oh, that's how you work around that issue (sucks that CFS3 did not have an individual skin option like IL-2 or more recent sims). Any chance that you talented guys will figure out how to allow ace skins, default skins for the rank and file and custom skins for the player in P4?
