FE2b ArcMod for Over Flanders Fields Phase 3
DukeIronHand replied to 33LIMA's topic in WOFF UE/PE - File Announcements
Thanks 33Lima. You are filling up my mods folder nicely! -
Flak Mod for Over Flanders Fields Phase 3
DukeIronHand replied to 33LIMA's topic in WOFF UE/PE - File Announcements
Another nice idea. I made this mod up for myself about a month ago using/combining several of Bletchley's mods and ideas - specifically the time based difficulty and the reduced lethality rounds. -

OFFbase: the Barmy Automated Squadron Experience for OFF

Whew - after that sales pitch I feel compelled to give it a shot. It certainly sounds great. D/l'ing now. -
The OFF incomplete campaign editor 0.5.1
DukeIronHand replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Kind of on subject one mod that came in under the radar and that is the HPW News Mod that beefs up the news report during a campaign. Less of a surprise as it was planned in another thread is 33Lima's AI Weight Mod that essentially equalizes AI plane weight to the same as the human player. -
AI Empty Weight Mod for Over Flanders Fields Phase 3

Great idea and effort. Can't wait to give it a serious try out. Thanks! -
And the tentative time frame for a P4 release is when?
DukeIronHand posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I will go out on a limb here, and I expect to be shot at from multiple sides, but so be it. I think the loyal fan-base here "deserves/expects/needs/requires" (fill in your own acceptable term) some kind of release date or a time frame for the P4 release. Yes, yes I know a demand such as this may be a bit cheeky as the Devs are kind of a private group and not a company or a bit forward in our chummy atmosphere here but I feel some kind of time estimate really should be given by the Devs to the members here who are patiently (or in my case impatiently) waiting for the heavens to break. If its two years, one year, six months, whatever then please say so. If you truly do not know because of the state of the work being done and progress or new changes or revisions that is fine too but say something. And yes I have heard from other members here, and yes I am willing to wait - or have too as OFF is the only game in town IMHO - but really some kind of release time frame is, I don't think, completely unreasonable. -

Actually Winder that is very helpful and it tells me quite a lot - thank you. If you guys posted any kind of time estimate before I missed it. And very funny OvS. -

Argh...gentleman please. This always seems to happen when this question is asked. I am not saying "rush a release" or anything like that. People always seem to feel a need to defend the Devs here on this subject. I am just asking what I feel is a reasonable question not slamming the Devs. If they do not wish to answer that is fine - it is certainly their right. And it's not really a big obsession I think?!? -
I have been following the discussion with interest. I have not added anything to the posts as I have zero FM programming knowledge. One area though where the extra weight may show a huge impact is the AI's ability to fly damaged aircraft. I will assume they are affected somewhat by damage but perhaps not to the degree the human player is?

Incredible Rudder respons of the Fokker Dr.1
DukeIronHand replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The "flat turn" that the Dr. 1 was famous for. Neat to see. Thanks for the video Olham and the other Spad thread also. Your still the king of cool links. Edit: Grammar - need more coffee. -
You will find that is about the best money you ever spent. I've only had mine about 1 year and, once you try it, you'll wonder how you ever flew OFF before.

And thanks x2 for me 33LIMA. One for posting the link and two for reminding me I have several of these publications (on WW1 A/C) in my basement from my youth. I had forgotten about them till I just saw them online and figured out why they looked so familiar.

Sweet!

HPW is the one to ask here. I remember trying to install a mod and the "Easy", "Normal", and "Hard" was quite counter-intuitive to me - so much so I hate to hazard a guess.

Very nice indeed! If I wasn't such an OFF slappy these almost make me want to fire up my IL2 install. Do you use the UOP's as I do? -

British Twoseater Campaign
DukeIronHand replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Just to play the Devil Devils Advocate I will say the main reason is a two-seater (or a bomber for other eras) campaign has never been done truly well in any sim that I am aware of. Probably much easier to design and program single-seater action (i.e., shoot down planes) versus all the jobs that a two-seater crew performed. Having said that if a had to pick just one it would a fighter pilot. Edit: Ooops - I should have read Creaghorns post first. I guess I just repeated what he said! -

Great work 33LIMA. Your time and effort is appreciated. -
33Lima's post about his work with AI gunners reminded me. He mentioned it but before I crash OFF out I will double-check. I make little tweaks and mods for my own use. In my latest I am making an AA mod using Bletchley's "noise" settings (by year) and his AA damage mod. Question: If a making a change to a .xdp file, for the change to take effect, do I then need to delete the corresponding .bdp file? If I do a mass search and delete of all .bdp files in my OFF directory OFF then recreates them from the .xdp files on start-up? I don't want to ruin my installation?

Deleting the .bdp files in OFF?

British Twoseater Campaign

Just to make sure I am still following this correctly we are saying: 1) The above parameters control the arcs when a human is manning the gun only? 2) That an AI observers arcs are not specified here? Another files does that? That would seem to be the case as the AI has greater than 10 degrees depression. 3) When a human is the pilot the AI observer then uses the numbers posted above, i.e., the human arcs of fire? Probably because the human could man the gun? 4) When a human is flying in a flight then all AI observers in the flight will now use the above human numbers? Sorry if some of these sound stupid but I wish to be clear. If my above thinking is correct than changing the above files will do nothing for the pure AI observers (in all AI flights) but help out the human pilot when he has an AI observer? Edit: Grammar -
