  1. 1 click no-zoom gunsight views

Works great. Simple and elegant solution to a longstanding issue that I had. A must have for OCD pilots like myself.
  2. I have had SF2 Vistnam since it first came out and, if memory serves, have always used eburger's great Vietnam add-on. Just reinstalled SF2 V to its latest version and did the same for eburger's mod. May be I was asleep but I see the mod now needs SF2 and SF2 E to work because of the 4 needed aircraft from the latter named games.. I only have SF2 V and never desired to fly anything else and am somewhat reluctant to spend $60.00. Can I manually edit the campaign files and change these 4 aircraft to something already included? Or does someone have an easier trick?
  3. Excellent! Thank you for the confirmation.
  4. Looks like to the use of a "AlternateType" line in the .ini files may be the ticket..
  5. Forgive me if this has been asked before (I am sure it must have) but a forum search did not help me. Getting back into SF2V after a year off. I have SF2V (and only SF2V - no expansions purchased) that I purchased in 2009. At the Third Wire site the last patch specifically for SF2V is May 2011 which I have. I am going to do a fresh install of it and eburger's wonderful Vietnam add-on from CombatAce here. Is May 2011 the last patch I need for my straight SF2V install? Thanks in advance. I have been to several forums and can't find a point blank answer.
  6. Well maybe I had better save my 2009 version just in case I have some compatibility issues with eburger's mod. Guess I can manually patch the old version if needed - I hope not as it sounds awfully complicated. Thanks gentlemen.
  7. Download all done. Of interest the d/l is about 100 MB smaller than it was in 2009. Wonder what's up with that?
  8. Many thanks sir! Your idea of a re-download was an excellent one! And it's dated July 2013. Much easier than trying to figure out a patch sequence. Luckily I still had that old e-mail account and I requested a new access code and 10 seconds latter I was downloading away....
  9. Oh boy....patching should not be this complicated. However your idea of a re-Download is a good one. Hopefully I can find that e-mail. Thanks.
  10. Hmmm...ok thanks. Is the latest SF2 patch all inclusive? Is that the only one I need?
  11. Yes...the whole "which patch for which type of install" adds greatly to the confusion and the patch "read me's" ain't a help!
  12. Where was Jasta 11 on April 21, 1918?

That's awesome. Please let us know how it goes.
  13. New Tracer Colors

Andy any way you could make this just a .zip file instead of an .exe?
  14. WOFF Installation

For me: P4 3.6 Dual core 4 GB RAM WIN XP 32 bit GTX 460 v2 card with 1 GB Way below spec but WOFF runs great.
  15. WOFF Installation

Calm down and everything will be ok. My box does not meet WOFF specs on any front but it nstalled painlessly and works great. No worries sir! Worry about the "Hun in the sun."
  16. Can't get over how good SweetFX is!

How do you turn off SweetFX mid-flight? Seems like in other threads they say it's "U" but unless I have it installed wrong (again) it appears that does not work but "Scrolllock" does make a visible change. I am testing back and forth as, on my system, Arias (sp) cloud mod appears better with it off. EDIT: Disregard. Found the time to wade to 18 pages of posts and it is the Scroll Lock.
  17. 1915 British Bombers Mission Types

Very nice! Hopefully you will have time to do both bomber and fighter for the entire war as you did for OFF.
  18. Can't get over how good SweetFX is!

OK, I found another set of install instructions that skips the "Flight" program (already deleted it and I forget the name already) and puts SweetFX directly into the WOFF folder. Definte graphics improvement and no FR loss in preliminary testing. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3881675/11 Look about have way down the page if you are still having problems getting this to work.
  19. The other mod topic got me thinking. There is a mod here at CombatAce that changes the tracer color to green with the author stating that British tracers were green so I would use this mod when I flew for the British and a red one when I flew for the Germans. On further reflection, and my apologies to the original author, I began to wonder never having seen this in print. Were British tracers green in color? The Germans red?
  20. Was doing some hard drive cleaning and looked on my saved OFF mods. There were several that should certainly work in WOFF and improve it. One that jump right out at me was Lothars name mod that about triples the available names for your AI squad mates. Save the originals of course but I can't imagine a text mod such as this causing a problem.
  21. Check out some OFF mods for WOFF

Just checked the tracer mods and they are certainly brighter and WOFF is using the same file names.
  22. Can't get over how good SweetFX is!

Tried it but my graphic improvement was nothing like UK WM's. The graphics were different but not necessarily better - no apparent FR hit though. To be honest my system is not first rate and I am not really convinced I had it installed and set-up correctly. Think I will wait till a more "Duke" friendly set of install instructions come out to try again.
  23. Color of British tracer rounds?

Your logic is is sound sir...and I have "No Parachute"...great book. I am trying to remember back to my infantry days. IIRC tracers were quite visible in the daylight though not as much as at night of course. And modern chemistry has probably made the tracers brighter than in WW 1 I suppose...thanks!
  24. Can't get over how good SweetFX is!

rjw, I just d/l'ed (I think) all the components I need to install this so hopefully it will work for me. Maybe I was distracted while looking at the page but the install instructions didn't flow well for me - I copied the SimHQ page so I can follow it line by line. Maybe double check your install?
