Agamemnon: This Sikorsky Dragonfly at Combat Ace includes the heli.wav soundfile you need. :) Just drag and drop the heli.wav from its Sounds directory into the game's main Sounds folder if you don't want the whole aircraft. Hope that helps.

I'm another with a flyable, but silent Huey. BUFF, when you say: that is just the sort of thing that Freddienet is getting at. Most users can download and most can drag and drop, but it really shouldn't be necessary to rename things to make them work.

I've downloaded the EE Lightning from Combat Ace, but the readme tells me to add lines to the particlesystem.ini in order to make the afterburner effects show up. Where is it, please? Secondly, I have the Red Top and Firestreak missiles ok, but can't make the extra tanks appear. They are in the Weapons directory and I've added the lines to the weapondata.ini and edited it with the editor - what have I missed this time?

I'm pretty much a newbie myself, though I have got Korea running happily in a separate install, and any suggestions from me would probably only make things worse. Your best bet might be to try the forums at Thirdwire and SimHQ.

Have you had any success with any carrier missions? Which carrier have you tried to download? Did you remember to extract the groundojectsdata.ini file and add the new lines ? Try downloading a mission to see if it works and then edit it in Notepad to try changing just the aircraft and nothing more.

I've never bothered with CFS3 either, so that goes for me as well.

I've downloaded some modern types (F16 and F18), but how can I fix the service dates of the stock opposition so that they meet appropriate types (eg addon MiG-29) rather than MiG-15? I can see the lines in addon aircraft data files, but not the stock ones.

Two things, both on the same day: (i) My Instant Action option seems to have lost the Phantom splashscreen, and always loads as a downloaded Venom flying against IL-28's. Anyone any ideas how this has happened, please? (ii) I've downloaded and installed the full Korea mod as a separate install, and everything works except the Instant Action, which causes a CTD. Would that be because, as instructed, I've deleted all of the stock aircraft?

I posted in SimHQ and Thirdwire forums, and got the answers to both questions. The reason for the first is unclear, but I must have changed the default at some time. The Bonus feature in Kreelin's mission editor Wovqmd solved it and returned me to the Phantom. The second was because the default a/c are no longer there. Charles at SimHQ says the Options.ini and Instantaction.ini need to be edited to recognise the different types in the Korea install. Thanks for troubling to reply. :)

I downloaded a seaharrier (as one word) from AVSIM and it's going well, if that's any help.

I agree - a few models flyable soon, eg Harrier FRS1, Skyhawk or Mirage, Pucara, maybe, with others to come, eg Harrier GR3, helicopters, Canberra, would get some money in to help with development and publishing costs and start building a fanbase. There's a very sad article in the current PC Pilot about some of the wonderful and comprehensive sims which never survived to be completed and published, such as Knights Over Europe, Falcon 5 and Target For Tonight.
