  1. Got into action before supplying pilot information, etc. I'll go into much more detail next time as i just wanted to get things going. First sortie was a milk run. Only drew some 57mm fire when i cleared the mountains and went down to mission altitude and some 14.5 mm over the target area.
  2. Here's what Wrench clued me into...I had the very same problem you do.
  3. Went into WOI and was surprised how intense it was. Flying the Mustang is a tricky proposition but i'm putting it all on the back burner for now. I discovered the custom campaigns and am now beginning to fly a tour in the RF-101C over N. Vietnam. I imagined that for a long time but couldn't pull it off on my older Gen-1 machines.
  4. Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Review.

I was actually searching for e new joystick via youtube and Amazon when i found others that had a similar problems with the Extreme 3D not being recognized by the Logitech software. Someone in the Amazon comments tried grouping his USB plug ins and moving them and it got me to thinking. So i took one of my Targus USB hubs and ran the keyboard, mouse, and speakers into it then plugged the hub into the rear of the PC. The joy stick went alone into a front USB and that turned the trick. The joystick is spot on now. Apparently, keeping it isolated is the solution.
  5. Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Review.

I've had my gripes about the Extreme 3D Pro over the years but it's been my stick of choice since 2002. Finally i've gotten to the last straw. It took a bit of doing but i finally got my computer to recognize the stick but after a windows update it's 100 percent no go. Can't be used for SF2 no matter what and so that's pretty much it. Knowing that Logitech doesn't support the software anymore either and i figure it's time to walk away from it (and Logitech as a whole) So now begins the hassle of finding a decent replacement.
  6. Just checked the Squadron List and Single Mission aircraft, they weren't there. I'll take care of in time. I've spent years flying WOE/WOV but never once had WOI, so that's going to be my primary focus for now.
  7. Ok, I started three placeholder campaigns and ran first missions and then double checked everything before placing every folder in place. The campaigns and aircraft came up and so it's all good. Later on today i'll get a joystick set up and give it some testing. Bit disappointed that the B-26K isn't in Steel Tiger anymore but there's plenty other planes to fly. As i never once did WOI it's more than likely where i will begin flying combat. With all the gee whiz jets, i'm partial taking the P-51D into battle. Thanks for the assistance in getting things going.
  8. I'll look at threads and things and try again perhaps in a few hours. Went at it twice more with no joy. Last time i ran into something like this was installing all the MEKTEK packs for Mechwarrior4Mercs correctly.
  9. OK thank, i found it. I just started again then suspected i made an error so to be safe i'm going to reinstall again to make sure everything is really ready. Also took all the rar. files and re extracted them again to make it a clean start.
  10. I hate to come off like i'm completely dense but i'm stuck with the WOV at virtually the beginning. I got rid of everything, reinstalled, searched everywhere and i can't locate "Strike Fighters 2 Vietnam Mod Folder" , "Saved Games" or anything along those lines. I have all four of parts of Gold Ready but can't find readily find where the files and folders would go. Perhaps it a Win10 thing i'm running into?
  11. Picked it up and got it installed. Had to fight off the MS security measures but it got done. Checked out the campaigns and saw the familiar vanilla info so all was fine there. I don't have a joystick installed yet but i just put the F4 on autopilot in instant action and had a look around. Outstanding on the eyes. So it looks like now it's just a matter of getting the WOV Gold, NATO Fighters series, ODS and some minor effects i got used to in Gen1. I noticed DiD didn't get very far here. That's how i fly all my campaigns so perhaps when i'm used to SF2 i'll post something there. In Gen1 at the moment I'm in an A-4 and am at 39 missions completed IIRC.
  12. Ok i went to Third Wire and saw it. The complete collection for windows 7. After i take care of things in an hour or so i'll pick it up and take a look through the files.
  13. I flew WOV Gold back when it was released and for a long time after. So after being away from it for a prolonged period i got things together, loaded up, and am back flying missions. It's all fine and dandy flying around dropping ordnance all around ,but what i would really like to do is fly recce birds up North. In ODS It's what i pretty much my thing (RF104G for a major challenge) and WOV Gold is even more of a thing. If i can get it set, i will surely do DiD.
  14. Thanks for the info. I'll give it another try later on and see what happens.
  15. Ok people, i'm an old pro at WOE and WOV Gen 1 and just recently got a hold of a bunch of SF2 titles. I also downloaded things such as patches, WOV Gold and NF files and i came to the realization after looking at a bunch of text notes that i can't figure out exactly how to put thing in order with all these various things (WOI, North Atlantic). Any step by step hints so i can get things going?
  16. Ok, The merged install is what i'm looking at but then there is question of all the patches, mods etc, etc. I've installed and removed the merged install twice already because i haven't been able to find exactly what can go in what order. For example, in Gen 1 it was WOV clean install, then patches and weapons pack, range, WOV Gold and you were set.. WOE was patches, weapons pack, range, the NFs and that was more or less it except for a few personal mods or two. The SF2 mass install is a whole other ball game if you can't make heads or tails about what goes when.
