Editing Campaign Missions
cuisinart8 replied to cuisinart8's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
This could work very nicely, there's some intriguing parameters in there. I'll have to play around and see what happens. I assume the other methods listed wouldn't allow the campaign to progress, since I'd be converting the missions into single missions? -
Editing Campaign Missions
cuisinart8 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Is it possible to edit campaign missions? I know they're randomly generated each time the campaign is opened, but are they written to someplace accessible when in the briefing screen? Looking around my install and User folders has been fruitless so far, but I could easily be missing something. -
Caporetto V2 (Terrain & Campaign)

I turned some of my settings down and that was exactly the problem, everything looks like it should now. Thanks for the quick solution! -
Caporetto V2 (Terrain & Campaign)

Hi, I've recently installed this map and I absolutely love it! It's really fun to fly in one of the lesser-known theaters of the war, and you did a great job of making a beautiful mountain map. The only issue is that I'm having some kind of a bug with the buildings. The textures are completely bugged out- the buildings are black and silver, and very shiny to the point that they appear to have strobe lights on them! Do you have any idea what could've caused this? I tried removing and reinstalling the map to no avail. I've attached a screenshot demonstrating the problem. -
Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition
cuisinart8 replied to Menrva's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Well, I feel rather silly now. I'm running the game on a laptop and it had auto-selected the integrated graphics card instead of my dedicated GPU to run the ODS exe with. Switching to my more powerful GPU fixed the problem quite nicely! I recommend anyone having the same problem check out Nvidia Control Panel or whatever program came with their GPU and make certain that the mod exe is using their most powerful card. Keep in mind you may need to manually add the program to the list in the control panel in order to be able to do this.- 233 replies

Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition
cuisinart8 replied to Menrva's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Good to know it's not the install that's the issue. My PC should be able to run it as it's pretty new and beefy, but I'll try fiddling with the options and my computer a bit more to see if any of that fixes the crashes. Thanks for the explanation!- 233 replies

Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition

I am also having the same issue that Hornet54 was having. None of the graphics settings are improving things. I've tried reinstalling the whole mod as well, but that didn't work. Whenever trying to start a campaign, regardless of which campaign, aircraft, or service I choose, it loads into the campaign but is unable to load a mission, freezing for a minute and then crashing to desktop at 80%. When I attempt to start Scramble, it instead freezes at 50% and does not crash or move, and I need to end the task in order to exit. This also occurs when attempting to create a single mission. I'm not sure if this is normal or if it helps pinpoint the issue, but in the main campaign screen, where you see your mission briefing, there is no picture of an airplane in the hangar like in vanilla SF2, just an empty hangar. Is there any way to enable error logging or something to see what exactly is causing the crashes/freezes?- 233 replies

Subscription Renewal
cuisinart8 replied to cuisinart8's topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
Okay, thanks for the help! -
I put in an order to renew my Choice Membership subscription last night, although it's been lapsed since December. I did get an email confirmation of the order, but the order the email links to has a "pay now" button, says payment is pending, and that the order was placed in December. Is this a sign that my renewal attempt didn't go through? I'm holding off on clicking the "pay now" button on the order screen because don't want to accidentally try to pay twice and create a big headache for myself and the admins!

Unmapping Spacebar?
cuisinart8 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have "fire guns" set to my joystick trigger, but for some reason SF2 seems to also have the spacebar bound to fire your cannons. I have a bad habit of fat-fingering keys in-flight, which sometimes leads to hitting spacebar instead of alt when trying to come out of time compression and thus firing off all of my cannon rounds! Is there a way to unbind spacebar from the "fire guns" command? It's not in the in-game key bind list. I did see a "ControlSet002" section of the controls .ini but erasing the spacebar binding for "FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN" didn't have any effect.
