Having served as a two-seater pilot with Schusta 30, Boy was reassigned to Jasta 14 in December 1917. He flew this DR I until he received his Fokker DVII. Was credited with 5 victories before his Fokker DVII was shot down in flames by an S.E.5a near Staden on the morning of 7 October 1918. His opponent that day was Canadian ace Camille Lagesse of 29 Squadron, who watched Boy bale out of his plane with a burning parachute. Badly wounded, Boy survived the jump but was captured when he reached the ground.

Muller joined Jasta 15 in January 1918, he was credited with 3 kills until the switch of Jasta 15 to Jasta 18 on March 20, 1918. He scored 10 more victories with Jasta 18 bringing his total to 13.
