Haebler was assigned to Jasta 36 in September 1917, he was shot down by anti-aircraft fire on 22 March 1918. Landing his Fokker DRI within the British lines, Häebler was captured and died from his wounds the following day.

Billik took over command of the newly formed Jasta 52 on Jan 9 1918. On 10 August 1918, in a swirling confused dogfight, Billik was shot down and taken prisoner. He was credited with 15 victories while with Jasta 52 bringing his total to 31.
