Raids over Managua
By Obelix
Hi, old chaps!!
My new Campaign is available now:
"You are Buck Danny, back from Korea. You are invited to be a part of the Fuerza Aerea del Managua restructuration. Managua is a small but rich country of Central America, and also a young and strong ally of the USA.
Your action will be double. First, you will an observer sent by the American government to evaluate the material and training needs of the Managuaian Air Force. Then, you will become a flight instructor. You have returned to civilian life before being incorporated to the Managuaian Force with your former rank. Indeed, during this 1952 summer, USA have been at war in Korea for the last 2 years, and American opinion has become fed up with those murderer combats. For this purpose, your intervention must be the more discrete as possible. Of course, you won't be alone in Central America, and your faithful friends Captain Jerry "Tumb" Tumbler and he mighty Texan red haired Second Lieutenant Sonny Tuckson will come along. Some other pilots and technicians will of course be with you.
Your evaluation mission seems to go easy till the sworn enemy of Managua, Costa Verde, makes his move.
Only one philosophy must guide you : pilots are rare, and you must not hesitate to send them back to home base one you estimate the mission accomplished.
Enjoy your flight!"
Coming with new skins, new medals, read me (french and english), 32 missions (in two versions, french and english).

DGen debugging guide
By vtrelut
For players of offline dynamic campaigns with DGen.
If you have installed third-party dynamic campaigns DGen add-ons, either freeware (True Pacific, Disaster On the Frontiers, etc) or payware (Battle Over Europe, Ostfront, The Last Days), you certainly faced some minor bugs or compatibility issues. If you want to sort them out and enhance your flying experience with DGen, then this guide may be helpful to you!
This is a guide written based on my own experience; of course now the trouble should be minimized thanks to the publication of EnjoyR's patches.
This guide may also be of interest to players who wish to modify their DGen campaigns. Basically all DGen files can be manually edited, but it is somewhat of a challenge.
Let us share our experience together, to enhance the DGen dynamic campaigns!

Khalkin Gol 1939 (co-op)
For game version 4.70+
6 Semi-Historical co-op missions for up to 24 players.
These missions are loosely based on the AARs that I could find, or they are linked to the ground action which is far better documented.
Players fly Ki27's, I153's and I16's.
All missions should be complete within about 30 minutes.
There are Escort, Intercept and Ground attack missions designed to be played in sequential order to create a kind of mini campaign.
Special thanks to NHawk for his brilliant map template upon which this is based.
I originally designed these missions for the 102nd co-op server. You can find and play them there by typing DSC MAP 01 after joining.

North Africa 1940 (co-op)
5 Historical co-ops for upto 24 players, that recreate the frantic Bi-plane actions between the RAF and the Regia Aeronautica around Halfya pass on the Libya/Egyptian border in 1940.
Forget everything you ever learned about instrument flying, energy manoeuvres and boom and zoom. Strap yourself into the open cockpit of an antiquated biplane and soar into the North African sky's !.
These missions are exact replicas of actual AAR's in so far as the mechanics of this game will allow. I have picked the most equal encounters and overall I think there is a fair balance (over all five missions).
The eventual arrival of Hurricane 1's compensates for initial Italian numerical superiority.
These missions were designed for the 102nd automatic server so most are air starts, with engagement within 5 minutes. All should be complete including landing within 30 minutes.
(To play this mini-campaign online on this server, go to 102 Coop dedicated via Hyperlobby, Join. Type DSC MAP 02 in chat and send to all and it will bring up these co-op missions. You do not need to download this to play in this way but if you do, all planes that you see will have the correct skins .)
To enhance enjoyment of flying Italian campaigns and missions, I recommend installing Gastons excellent campaign pack, which includes a campaign folder, Italian ranks and medals and a speech pack:-

also included in the Dgen Upgrade:-

The Battle of Malta 1940-42 (IT) 1.1
THE BATTLE OF MALTA 1940-1942 (IT) 1.0
for Il2/AEP/Pf 4.03m+
A 62 mission Scripted fighter Campaign for an Italian fighter pilot based in Sicily.
This campaign is based on a lot of historical research, no real pilot would have had the opportunity to experience
all that is contained although I have constructed what I hope is a believable fiction.
Almost all the missions within this campaign are directly based upon real missions.
The variety and type of missions are varied but the focus is upon escort type missions and their evolution throughout
the period covered. There are also patrols, fighter sweeps, ground attacks, interceptions and a variety of 'specials' as the Regia Aeronautica struggle to win air superiority and prevent convoys and supplies from getting to Malta.
Convoys are central to this whole campaign so ships of all types and their attack and defence feature very heavily
throughout.
Player fly's the Fiat Cr42 'Falco', MC200 'Saetta', Fiat G50 and MC202 'Folgore'.
(and very briefly a bf109, He111 and an MC205 'Veltro' in a final 'epilogue' mission in 43.)
i) This campaign requires the Italian campaign folder and Italian speech pack. (included in the 'DGEN latest updates !' underneath this in the campaigns section of CombatAce website:-
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2032
OR
in 'the Italian campaign pack' available at Ubi Pacific fighters under user campaigns,
many thanks to Gaston and everyone else involved.
ii) This campaign was constructed using the excellent il2 MATmanager and it is recommended that people install this
utility in order to be able to choose accurate plane markings.
(the campaign should still work without it but will not look as good as intended.)
Thanks to all the skinners that created the skins contained within, I have tried my best to agnowledge their excellent
work. (see read me).
Unzip to your desktop and look at the enclosed Read Me(IT)
Hopefully there should be an Italian language version of this campaign to follow soon.
1.1 corrects some spelling and typos in the briefs.

True Pacific for DGen
By NimitsTexan
OVERVIEW
Thanks for downloading (and for taking the time to read this file). The main features of this campaign mod:
1) Adds 13 new DGen operations and 4 new DGen careers for the Pacific Theater
2) Order of Battle extensively researched to put the right planes and squadrons in the campaign.
3) Ops file is based, as much as possible, on the mission reports and pilot accounts of actual air engagements that
occurred during the various campaigns.
4) Planes, ships, AAA, artillery, and everything else is placed in as accurate position as possible based on my research
and map/game limitations [Note, ships setups have been designed to provide most realistic experience with reload time at
5.0; I higher reload time could help if you are experiencing low fps around ships; a lower reload time would be good if
you just really, really, want to relive Torpedo 8's mission every time you fly an anti-shipping strike].
5) New campaign briefings
6) Use skins so aircraft are painted and marked as they were historically
0.08
Bug Fixes
1. 318th FG campaign crashing when going from Pearl Harbor to Marinanas
2. No USN escort missions in carrier campaigns
3. Coral Sea Escort mission crash
4. No USN non-CV anti-shipping strikes in Midway
5. N1K2 not showing up in Defense of Japan
Enhancements
1. Changed Rufe Tulagi campaign to pre-Guadalcanal bomber intercept campaign (as is historical)
2. Guadalcanal Invasion campaign improved (Japanese template, correct OB, correct skins)
3. Edited most carrier campaigns to reduce as much as possible the "30 mile final" (because of how DGen does carrier and antishipping missions, this is problem cannot be eliminated completely).
4. Added USMC campaign covering the defense of Wake Island before the Hiryu/Soryu carrier strike
5. Added Eastern Solomons campaign (correct air OB, task forces forces semi-historical, based on default Santa Cruz template)
6. D3A1s and sBD-3s have correct skins in Santa Cruz
7. A6M2-21s and D3A1s have green skins in Marianas
8. Reduced air OB numbers in .dat files 50% across the board (allows the player to have slightly more influence on the campaigns, and brings air OBs in line with ground and ship unit density)
9. Ar-196A3 (as a stand in for the E13A2) added to campaigns featuring IJN cruisers/battleships as appropriate

New Campaign Short Bong
By Hairog
Short Bong
Short Bong is a much shorter version of the America's Ace of Aces campaign. It is made for all of you who cannot spend the time that the real Dick Bong spent flying on his successful missions. This campaign is the same as America's Ace of Aces except you start out near the action. In the realism options choose instant success if you don't have the time to fly back to base.
Some time when you have the time try and play the full version of America's Ace of Aces. It's a real challenge and has some surprises I couldn't add in this short version.
Just over the Wisconsin border from Illinois is the most stolen sign in America. It reads "Bong Recreation Area".
99% of the people you ask will have no idea who or what the area is named after. It's a shame that the greatest fighter pilot America has ever produced is all but forgotten and his name has become a joke.
This is just my attempt to educate a small number of you as to the life and times of Richard Ira Bong, America's Ace of Aces. His record 40 kills in the Pacific Theater will never be surpassed. This unlikely farm boy from Poplar Wisconsin became a super star and then faded into the history books. He deserves more than just his 15 minutes of fame.
I have recreated all of Bong's successful missions. I have tried to recreate as accurately as possible the circumstances faced by Dick Bong in his 2 year onslaught of the Japanese armed forces. I have had to use different maps because many of the areas that Bong fought in are not represented in the game yet. Areas such as Northern New Guinea, Rabal, Borneo, the Philippine Islands of Negros, Mindoro and Leyte have not been modeled yet. I have found very similar areas on other maps that fit the bill however. By using the southern part of New Guinea I was able to recreate the Lae area farther to the north; by using the Singapore map I could recreate similar conditions to the Philippine islands etc. I think you will get the feel of the historical area and conditions.
There are a few fun missions. One where you take off at night and try and get Washing Machine Charlie as Bong tried to do a few times... Another where you get into a dogfight in a SBD against a float plane... One where you have a mock dog fight with a P47 as Bong did while on leave... and the last one where you try and complete the only mission that Dick Bong could not.
I wish to apologize for the racial epithets used to describe the Japanese race. This was the language of the times and the quotes are verbatim. I'm sorry if they cause any discomfort. I do not mean to offend, just to be historically accurate with my quotes.
If Put the plane on autopilot and you will encounter all the bogies that Dick Bong shot down.
The skins mentioned are not included in this version. If you want to use them they are included in America's Ace of Aces campaign only and you can download them there.

The Battle of Malta 1940-42(GB) 1.6
THE BATTLE OF MALTA 1940-1942 (GB) 1.5
for Il2/AEP/Pf 4.03m+
A 51 mission Scripted fighter Campaign for an RAF pilot.
This campaign is based on a a lot of historical research, no real pilot would have had the opportunity to experience
all that is contained although I have constructed what I hope is a believable 'fiction'.
Most missions represent Radar guided interceptions above the Island of Malta, against the numerically vastly superior
Regia Aeronautica and Luftwaffe.
Convoys are central to this whole campaign so ships of all types and their attack and defence feature very heavily
throughout (several missions are carrier based).
Player fly's the Gladiator, Hurricanes, Spitfire and Beaufighter
(and very briefly a Martlet (lend lease F4F-4) and A20.)
This campaign was constructed using the excellent il2 MATmanager and it is recommended that people install this excellant free utility in order to see accurate plane markings.
(the campaign should still work without it but will not look as good as intended.)
Thanks to all the skinners that created the skins contained within, I have tried my best to agnowledge their excellent
work.
Unzip to your desktop and look at the enclosed Read Me(GB)
1.5- As a result of The_Battle_of_Malta (IT) the convoy actions of this campaign have been recreated in far greater
detail. As a result this version has 3 extra missions (all (historical) long range defences of convoys by Malta based
fighters) and 5 of the pre 1.5 missions have been extensively revised (specificaly the convoy 'Pedestal' missions).
(8 more 'historical'and 'semi historical' missions in total).
1.6- Updates the 41st mission in the campaign
(thanks to Beaufort for research and advice.)
Four missions that were air-starts have been changed so that all missions now begin on runways.
Tropical A20 skin included plus MBR-2-AM-34 skin replaced with a new skin by Skioppo.
(1.6 is a very minor change. With updates if you already have a campaign in progress, overwrite the existing Battle_of_Malta_1940-42 folder in your campaign GB folder and you can continue the campaign but will have the updated version.)
THE BATTLE OF MALTA (IT) is now available. It took far longer to produce than this one and required more research, almost all missions are based on real mission reports and had to be created from scratch, the atmosphere and focus is very differant and so are the mission types and problems faced, try it and see.

HE 111 Training Campaign
By BFawlty
Can't seem to locate the author I hope you don't mind me putting up this campaign Poymando. Thanks
From the Read doc:
HE 111 Training Campaign
June 2003
By Poymando
This 26 mission campaign was designed as a training tool for myself to become familiar with the IL2 FB Full Mission Builder. It features both models of the He111 in a variety of missions from torpedo attacks, recon, level bombing, submarine patrols, minelaying etc. There are also a few historical missions relating to the Stalingrad airlift.
The campaign requires a couple skins which I have included. Much thanks to CanonUK for his skins and all of his hard work and contribution to the community.
I would encourage any constructive criticism of this project to help me improve my mission building skills. Perhaps as more bombers become available in upcoming patches, I will add to the campaign. Enjoy!

A20 on Karulha
By GastonGaston
A20 on Karulha
Mission for FB-AEP-PF merged.
Here is a mission for a max of 20 players :
-8 fighter pilots (escort and CAP) and
-4 A-20G teams (1 pilot and 2 gunners each)
The ideal solution :
-let no1 A-20 as AI to lead the pack on the right way,
-and have at least 2 pilots (nos 1 and 3) for each fighter group.
For the "simili"-historic thing, read the briefing...
Skins are coming with the pack (only 6). Big thank you to their authors, even if I have forgotten their names (except Buglords) !!!
Install is very simple :
-unzip all in a temporary folder and open the obtained folder (A-20 sur Karulha).
-copy-paste everything in your FB-root : everything will automatically go to the right place !!! well... that's how it is supposed to work...
-Run the game, launch a coop mission,
-choose the new A20 pack,
-choose "Attack on Karulha" mission.
Pay attention to the briefing. Check the directions on the map (those indicated in the briefing are purely approximate indications).
And have a good flight !!!

April Fools v1
By jrjacobs
The Ohka was launched around 55 miles(88km) from the target, usually from under the belly of a Mitsubishi G4M "Betty" bomber, at an altitude of about 27,000 ft (8,240m) and speed of 175-200 mph(280-320 km/h). The first 50 miles(80km) were covered by gliding at around 230mph(370km/h), upon which the pilot ignited the rockets to take the speed up to around 535 mph(860 km/h). In the final dive approach, speeds of up to 620 mph(1,000 km/h) were reached.
The first recorded attacks by an Ohka is on March 21, 1945, when 16 were launched to intercept a US Navy fleet at Kyushu. However, the G4M Ishiki-Rikko was one of the weak links of the Ohka, the Mitsubishi bomber was virtually unarmoured and its entire wing was a giant fuel tank without a self-sealing lining; it was slow and unwieldy at the best of times and the addition of the Ohka made it even more so. This mission illustrated this vulnerability to a T when it was intercepted by Grumman F6F Hellcats and all the bombers were destroyed.
The first successful attack is thought to have been on April 1 1945, damaging the battleship USS West Virginia and two cargo vessels.
On April 12 the American destroyer, USS Mannert L. Abele was sunk by a direct hit.
On May 4, the destroyer Shea was hit by an Ohka as was the USS Hugh W Hadley on May 11; while they did not sink, both destroyers were judged to be beyond repair.

FeFiFoFum Gigant Killer v1a
By jrjacobs
22 April 1943, Holy Thursday, just before Easter, was the blackest day of all for the Me 323s and their crews
14 Me 323s of II./KG.z.b.V each carrying about 10 tons of fuel destined for Army Group Tunis was intercepted by the South African Fighters at Cape Bon.
10 Ju 52s of Kampfgruppe z.b.V. 106 took off at 0640 hours bound for Tunis. The Junkers and a group of 14 Me 323s were supposed to fly to Tunis with the maximum available fighter escort.
Each Gigant was carrying 10 tons of fuel destined for Army Group Tunis.
The fighter escort of 39 Bf 109s assembled over Trapani. Another 65 fighters, including Macchi 202s, flew out from Tunis to meet the formation. West of Sicily the Kampfgruppe descended to a height of 20 to 50 meters above the sea. Halfway between Sicily and Tunisia the Me 323s separated from the Ju 52 formation and, contrary to orders, set course for Cape Bon. This splitting of the fighter escort meant that the Giganten had only 36 escorts instead of the planned 104.
At 0925 two large groups of South African fighters began attacking the Me 323s between Cape Bon and the island of Zembra. Conditions were hazy. The first group of enemy fighters engaged the Bf 109s of II./JG 27, which were flying at an altitude of about 2400 meters, and forced them away from the transports. This allowed the second formation, which was larger and made up mainly of P40 Kittyhawks of the South African Air Force, to attack the Giganten.
Once attacked, the Me 323s took evasive action and the wedge-shaped formation disintegrated. The huge, cumbersome transports had little chance of even reaching the African coast. Usually able to sustain a great deal of battle damage, on this day the Giganten were carrying volatile cargoes and most caught fire or exploded after a few hits. Though they put up stiff resistance, shooting down five to seven enemy fighters, the Me 323s were shot down one after another until the last Gigant crashed into the sea in flames.
MISSION DATE: THURSDAY, 22 April 1943
GAME REQUIREMENT: IL2-FB-PF 3.04m

IL2FB Balaton Campaign
By pcpilot
From the readme...
This is a totally fictitious campaign involving the Balaton region map and the Player as a German pilot. You'll be flying first the B-239 Buffalo being used as a trainer, then the Bf-109E-4B Jabo fighter bomber. As you will quickly learn, this campaign came solely from my fertile imagination so if you are looking for history, you might try another campaign. Accurate history aside, if you are looking for a 37 mission campaign with varied missions and quick action, you've came to the right place. Ive tried to make each mission different and challenging without making the pilot fly 2 hours to get somewhere, or making the missions so tough you want to quit trying after doing the same mission 12 times.
This is a BETA release of this campaign. I would very much appreciate ANY feedback at all, positive, negative, contructive, destructive, or otherwise. Please let me know what you think. Thanks...

Tanaka's Transports
By jrjacobs
Pacific Fighters Mission - Coop for 4/8 players
On November 11th, the Japanese assembled a large convoy of merchant vessels, loaded with 7,000 men and enough supplies and ammunition for a month's worth of fighting. And in order to assure the delivery of those supplies, they assembled a very powerful force, centered on the battleships Hiei and Kirishima
Rear-Admiral Tanaka Raizo would escort eleven transports carrying some 7,000 men and tons of ammunition and supplies to Guadalcanal. The Imperial Navy decided the battleships Hiei and Kirishima would smash Henderson with concentrated gunfire a day before the arrival of Tanaka's convoy.
In the darkness of Friday the 13th, 13 ships of the American Navy, engaged two battleships Hiei and Kirishima, a cruiser and 13 destroyers of the Imperial Japanese Navy. When it was done the Americans had lost 1 Light Cruiser and 4 Destroyers sunk, and 2 Heavy Cruisers, 2 Light Cruisers, and 1 Destroyer heavily damaged. The Japanese had 1 Battleship (Hiei); and 2 Destroyers, sunk, and 3 Destroyers damaged.
With only two heavy cruisers the Japanese were unable to do enough damage to the airfield. Henderson Field was still operational the next morning. As a result, the Japanese transports, came under heavy attack.
Multiple missions were flown by Marine SBD Dauntlesses, by SBDs and Avengers from carrier Enterprise which staged through Henderson, and by B-17 Flying Fortresses flying up from Espiritu Santo. against the transports throughout the day.
This is where you come in.
Seven of the transports were sunk- Rear Admiral Tanaka, resolved to land the four surviving transports and any surviving troops on Guadalcanal, regardless of any US resistance.
By early the following morning the four surviving Japanese transports had to beach themselves on the shores of Guadalcanal. All four were destroyed by US aircraft and destroyer attack, with horrendous casualties among the troops they were carrying.
For Japan, it was the end of any hope of wresting Guadalcanal from the Americans. In three days of combat in and around the area, they had lost two battleships, one heavy cruiser, three destroyers and eleven combat transports, not to mention 5,000 infantrymen drowned, and several thousand sailors lost. From this point on, the Japanese would never stop retreating in the Pacific.

Swift Swett
By jrjacobs
Pacific Fighters Mission - Coop for 4/8 players
On 7 April 1943, Marine Lieutenant James E Swett in an F4F-4 Wildcat called "Melvin Massacre" took off from Henderson field leading an element of VMF-221.
28 ?Wildcats? of VMF-221, 8 F4U-1s of VMF-124 and 6 P-38Fs of the USAAF?s 12th FS mission that day were to protect the fleet from an estimated 195 Japanese "Zekes" and "Vals"
Upon approaching Tulagi Lt. Swett found 67 D3A2 "Vals" and about 110 "Zekes" starting their attack. Accelerating, he quickly outdistanced his wingmen who were then jumped by the "Zekes" so with no one to help him he waded into the fray.
When he came out the other end he was wounded, had no ammunition left, an engine shot up bad enough that it would eventually seize up on him, and 7 confirmed and 1 probable D3A2s downed by his guns
For this Lt James Elms Swett earned a Medal of Honor. Can you do the same? Let me know what you think?

Raising Havoc
By jrjacobs
Raising Havoc in the Ardennes
It is January 23rd, 1945, and it's cold. The German advance in the Ardennes is nearly over, but the Panzer Army is desperately throwing more troops into the breach who try to keep their momentum going in The Battle of the Bulge.
Tasked with preventing German reinforcements from reaching the battle front, the Ninth Air Force including A-20 Havocs of the 410th Bomb Group launched a series of low-level attacks on enemy ground forces as they wound their way through the Ardennes. Flying conditions were not easy, cloud bases were low, and snow was in the air.
Locating an enemy convoy in open space, the Havoc pilots make a swift attack diving from 8000 feet (2,400m), catching the German force by surprise: Hurtling down the line of vehicles at 320mph (515kph) they release their parafrag bombs from 300 feet (90m) then, dropping just above the roofs of the army trucks continue down the column blasting everything in sight with their forward-firing .50mm calibre machine guns. In the space of a few minutes the attack is completed and the convoy decimated.
With amuntion expended and fuel running low the A-20 Havocs climb out of the zone and head for base in France. they return through a blizzard, but all aircraft make it safely home - the lead aircraft, on landing, counting over 100 holes of various sizes. For their part in leading the successful attack the Lead Pilot Russell Fellers and Bombardier/Navigator Gordon G. Jones received the Silver Star.

Pacific Fighters Mission - 4 players take-off from the Lexington -
....On 11 January 1942, CV-2, the USS Lexington sailed from Pearl Harbor as the flagship of TF 11. Task Force 11 consists of the Lexington, two heavy cruisers, and six destroyers The Lexington has been assigned the dangerous task of penetrating enemy-held waters north of New Ireland. From there her planes are to make a strike at Japanese shipping in the harbor at Rabaul.
Unfortunately, while still 400 miles from Rabaul, the Lexington was discovered by a giant four-engine Kawanishi flying boat.
Nine twin-engine enemy bombers have been spotted comming in from the South and Commander Thach has just led six Wildcats into the air to intercept them.
After Commander Thatch led the Wildcats towards the incoming enemy bombers, Lt Butch O'Hare noticed he had fuel problems, and turning 180 degrees he returned to his ship, the Lexington.
Suddenly he noticed nine more enemy bombers attacking from the opposite direction and alone and desperate, he attacked and took on all nine. single handedly destroyed five of them, and forced the rest to turn away.
For this Lt Butch O'Hare earned a Medal of Honor. Can you do the same with four aircraft Let me know what you think?
