I've just posted a fix here at Biohazcentral that should help you see the ground better during night missions.

 

It's not perfect and I don't have screenshots, but the file itself might give you ideas on how to improve the lighting yourself

finally i have some lights now :D :D... now the noon looks like noon!

Here's a couple of dawn screens from the latest version...It's 5:15 am and we're off to hit army headquarters in Riqdur. Still want to fix the water. Middle of the night is substantially darker, but you can still pick out murky details of the land.

The game looks beautiful now...and night missions are no longer a drag! Light effects, with bombs and SAMs going off, are stunning! Set your nac lights to flash (CTRL+L) and you will see some beautiful lighting on the A/C.
