SF2 Oscar EW-5894 "Bulldog" What If... by Wrench & Marcfighters

SF2 Oscar EW-5894 "Bulldog" What If... by Wrench & Marcfighters                5/21/2026

-For SF2, Full-5 Merged -Recommended-

The is the release of the EW-5984 (aka F/A-5894) Bulldog light attack fighter bomber as used by THE NAVY. You all should be familiar with it from the movie "Hot Shots". Instead of following the movie, I made it a bit more Realistic(ish) (TM); as if it was a Real World Aircraft (tm). To that end it carries marking consistent with 1991(ish) of a fictious (!!!) squadron, VF-999 "Whompers".
Obviously, the aircraft is based on Marcfighters HAL Ajeet, not the Gnat used in the film, as I wanted (ok, needed!) all 4 external hardpoints.
The aircraft it fully Carrier Qualified, having been tested in a Full 5 Merged install on all the various USN aircraft carriers of that timeframe.

All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE.

Almost everything used, weapons, pilots, sounds, cockpit are stock in-game items. The "new" weapon is the rocket carrying drop tanks (with thanks to Svetlin!!). Even the rockets carried in that are stock 2.75 inch units. Please note the "Full 5 Required", as the base cockpit used is that of the A-7E_74. Avionics, of course, are MUCH adjusted! The aircraft is cleared for use of nearly everything in the US Arsenal (tm), excepting Nukes. A laser designator is built into the aircraft. It also carries chaff & flare countermeasures, and internal jamming equipment (framis).

On the aircraft selection drop-down screen, you'll see

EW-5894 "Bulldog"

The aircraft's name has been changed from the film, as CombatAce is a Family Site (tm).

Please note, that the Aircraft Short Name, and what will show up on screen when visually targeted will read "F/A-5894". This is simply for gaming purposes.

As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!!
Please read the Notes section for any other useless bits of information, and full credits.

Please also take note of changes in the Standard Disclaimer in the "Legal BS" section at the bottom.

Good Hunting & Happy Landings!
