CJsRevolt Posted yesterday at 07:37 AM Posted yesterday at 07:37 AM A quick review and first thoughts from a noob. I recently upgraded to this setup after starting out on a second hand Saitek X-55 Rhino. The Rhino was nice, but suffered the infamous ghost inputs on the throttle and some potentiometer drift on the stick. The MTQ is a game changer for me. Enough buttons to map everything I can meaningfully use. I love the dual mapping ability with the throttle base, being able to set the idle detent on the throttle axis, being able to set a finger reachable modifier to double up the potential mapping options, two slew axis thumb sticks available to me for target designator, etc. etc. If anyone is looking for a reasonably priced HOTAS setup, I would say seriously consider Moza gear. The stick on the AB6 base is sooooo smooth and feels totally connected to the aircraft. Precise too. I had previously entered the Moza ecosystem with the R12 Base for sim racing and was very impressed with it, so figured best to stay with what I know and I have zero regrets. Not sure what else comes in a review but these are my initial impressions.
Goob113870 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago i'm glad people can afford those expensive sticks and throttles. im still on my Logitech X-52 Pro HOTAS.
CJsRevolt Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Goob, They weren't too expensive. The MTQ throttle is only AU$350 which is very reasonable considering the quality. The AB6 combo was a little dearer at AU$619. Under AU$1000 for a pretty high end setup is fairly reasonable. At the end of the day, if you are having fun with your current setup, then it is good enough to do the trick. Keep playing on the X-52 and work towards the goal of upgrading. I am nearly 50 mate, so I have worked for many years to be able to get my hands on nice stuff..... 2
Flanker562 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I think my TM HOTAS One is like 169 bucks, so I like it a lot myself, but that's pretty decent, and Logitech isn't bad quality, but yeah save up for a better stick though. 1

I do want to upgrade my HOTAS so I guess I'm going to start saving for one that's better or i might try a GO-Fund Me LOL. But I am glad you have a really awesome setup.
