giopanda Posted August 28 Posted August 28 hey guys, i just downloaded yakarov79's AV-8B Harrier II and it looks like its missing the gun.. the loadout screen shows it greyed out saying 'this aircraft is not equipped with an internal gun' but it should have. i downloaded and extracted all 4 parts and put everything where it should. the folder /StrikeFighters2/Objects/Guns/25MM_GAU12AIR is present with both .ini files so i don't know what is missing.. i know i'm too many years too late but i just find out about the game so i have to catch up! also, how am i supposed to use the ARBS? thanks
Flanker562 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 No the AV-8B has a podded gun, not an internal gun, never did have any internal gun at all.

Flanker562 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 @yakarov79 would have those answers, the Podded 25mm had a fixed load, so given that I never served in the USMC... Maybe they flew with various loads or amounts, but simply put that the pod will only carry the max load for the type, as per the weapon and such. But since it's yakarov's mod, I'll let him help you since it's his.
yakarov79 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Something went south on your download. I just downloaded the mod and unpacked it on my PC. First, you should not unpack every single rar part....select all 4 and right-click- unpack the whole thing as one....simple. Remember - the patch is only meant for those who downloaded the V1 mod before the update....At this point, the whole mod is V2 - so no need for patch. It is stated in the download section in the file description. This is what you should have: Yes indeed, somehow the sound for 25mm Equalizer is missing, so here it is: Equalizer.rar You can not use ARBS....this game does not support A2G warfare properly...so laser guiding, tv guiding is not working as it should be. As ARBS is is an electro-optical tracking and weapon delivery calculator - dependent on tv camera...so no chance to use it in this state of the game. It works as in game - TV-lock-on target thingie....so you can just lock on target in a very narrow FOV. but still have to target with CCIP cross. In real application, AN/ASB-19 ARBS was meant for delivery of dumb bombs in CCIP and AUTO mode accurately as laser-guided bombs. And it performed very well on Harrier. Equalizer gun is added as gunpod. But it is not selectable on the loadout menu. IT has stationGroup=7, meaning it can not be displayed on the loadout menu. But it is present in the game. I did it this way - I had my reasons, and from my point of view it was the best way. Could be as an internal gun - but it is a gunpod. Like most of my mods - whole thing is easy to modify, few edits in aircraft data.ini can give you internal gun, selectable gun pod or as in this case gunpod but loaded by default - where player should depends on loadout presets. 1
giopanda Posted August 28 Author Posted August 28 @yakarov79 thanks for the help man! i guess i just messed up the extraction, now everything works perfectly, gun sound included! as someone posted already the plane is slightly pointing to the left, but except that i love it! so the ARBS can be basically used to identify the mission target and nothing else, right? sounds good to me!
