I was reading the CNN web site today and they had a story on Canadian military opperations in the Arctic. They mentioned the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic and how the canadians had claimed it but the U.S. had not recognized the claim. Well Imagine its 20 years from now and Oil is more important than ever. So the U.S. starts drilling in the Beaufort Sea and the canadias dont like it, Instant WAR. The campaing or missions could use modified Baring Strait terrain. Combatants would be the USN and the RCAF Hornet vs. Hornet. Mostly an anti shiping /Air superiority campaign, but it would be interesting.

Any takers

20 years from now, Canada may still be flying Hornets. [all 50 of them] USN? Something newer probably, and lot's of them. But if you add some Canadian troops on Ski-Doos, you have a great campaign idea!

..hmmm..let me be devils advocate..always has to be politics..and Ivan is watching this one with great intrest..lets see..ask an old englander, secretly england had annexed CA to the US..so in case the UK got taken by the HUN, they had to to deal with the United States of Canada. There are some old brits/canucks out there that say this is true, and the documents pertaining to the deal are still hidden. So, the USOC owns the Beaufort Sea anyways. And least we forget about the D.E.W line.??? Still it might be fun.

No. A very minor scenario and highly unrealistic.

Plus CNN is really reaching.

Yeah don't give CNN any ideas before they start another war. Hopefully oil wont be an issue in 20 years.
