+MadJeff Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Just saw this on the forums. The game engine doesn't have built in texture size limit - they are only limited by the graphics card, and performance, of course. So in the future, we can increase the texture res without any problems... We feel 5 x 512x512 is hi-res enough, but if you feel you must, you can go higher than that for your own skin... (we won't be responsible in any way for excessive texture usage causing slow downs and stutters on less powerful machines, though That is really cool, as it really keep things open-ended. A year from now when Radeon 9700's are 80 bucks this game will look better and better. How many sims have you seen that grow with tech increases? :D Quote
Rudel Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Well Heck, why not make a 1024 x 1024 Template? Time to get crackin at it S! Quote
kris Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Im not on a "hogh end" machine, 1.4GHz GF4 ti200, most people out there got way more powerfull stuff than this, and i changed ALL the skins in the game to 1024, and it still runs smooth at 1024*768 4*FSAA, not the greatest fps in the worrld , around 25-30, BUT it runs smooth, no stutters or slowdowns whatsoever :D Quote
kris Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 "hogh end" wonder what that means?...lol  Quote
