white_rabbit Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 im prabably ganna get it, only because recently ive been in this mood to play a flight sim seriously, and i was about to buy my first joystick yesterday but didnt. but what i wanted to know is why this game has so much hype built up around it? I dont know much about it other than alot of flight sim fans have really been waiting for this one, why? Quote

Flight sim fans have been screaming for an authentic Vietnam-era sim ever since sims began...I just picked this up today, and it looks like we may have our wish! Quote

What makes this sim special to many is the era of the aircraft (60s-70s). There have been some good WWI, WWII, Korea, and modern jet sims, but the airaft of the 60s have been mostly overlooked before. This sim you can fly the F-100D, F-104G, A-4, and F-4s. Plus we've been waiting awhile for a good sim. :) Quote

+pcpilot Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Mainly I think weasal is correct in stating this era of aircraft is one that has been overlooked making this sim eagerly anticipated. These aircraft are ones that all of us are about to blow a gasket waiting to fly. However I'd have to add knight isnt all wrong either. Like him I have been waiting for something about vietnam airwar. While this doesnt have any Vietnam focus or scenarios in it that I know of, there is little doubt the sim community will be coming up with some great scenarios and addon mods. I would love to see a mod for the B-52 made, (doesnt have to be flyable , just AI is good), that would work in this game and then make a campaign for the Christmas '72 Hanoi bombings with you as escort or flying wild weasel. Or how about a MAJOR Rolling Thunder campaign eh? :D Quote
Elton Hyland Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Correct me if I'm wrong but if this sim is able to be MOD'd and expanded as you folks say, then am I to assume that this is just the beginning of this game? ie: Project 2,3 and 4 etc? If so... then I am glad I got in on the ground floor. Why can't someone BUILD Viet Nam and then BUILD scenarios. E. H. Quote
