s_magic Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I have the latest patches installed with the new clouds. However, when I start a campaign all I get are clear days, no clouds. I have gone through several missions and it is the same each time. Is there some .ini file I can modify to get some more weather in the game. PS: Everything works fine in the single mission mode. Thanks. Quote
arf16 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I also experience very clear weather for the first couple of missions in a campaign. Later, the weather does start to vary and more and more clouds are seen. I also think that whether or not you are flying an all-weather capable aircraft affects the type of weather you encounter during the campaign. I hope this helps. Quote

Lexx_Luthor Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 (edited) I only fly the Thud. Any other ideas? Add a [CloudsClear] text block to your Environmentsystem.ini file, best to place it just above the other [Clouds...XYZ] text blocks... [CloudsClear] MaxClouds= MaxCloudParticles= 3DCloudMaterial=CloudMaterial 3DCloudHorizontalSize= 3DCloudVerticalSize= 3DCloudSizeDeviation= 3DCloudParticleDensity= ParticleSize= ParticleSizeDeviation= MinBaseAltitude= MaxBaseAltitude= UseBottomRow=TRUE Add cloud data numbers to Taste...or...you could just copy and paste any one of the [Clouds...XYZ] data but call it [CloudsClear]. Then you should have clouds on clear days/nights. This is just something I took a stab at, and it worked. I am a programmer too, so I know how they think. If at any time you wish to fly in clear skies, just add an "x" in the text block title ~> [xCloudsClear] ... This misspelled titled text block is then ignored by the game code, and so the clouds don't show. The Enviro file is extracted to the Flight folder from the encrypted FlightData.cat, using the CAT Extractor tool here at CombatAce utilities section.) Edited September 8, 2006 by Lexx_Luthor Quote
csb Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Get the fantastic Weather Mod by Cellinsky, it's in SF Maps/Terrain Mods here at Combatace. This may solve your problem. Even if you have fixed it, this mod adds more realistic clouds and removes the wallpaper clouds that are always in the distance (even on clear days), It's eeeasy to install - all files go in the flight folder (now that is easy) You even get cloud layers. And doesn't hit fps. Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Are you flying WoE or an earlier sim? I have varied weather all the time in the 3 campaigns I've finished thus far... Quote
s_magic Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 I have installed the weather mod, maybe it is just a begining of a campaign thing. I am flying WOV, sorry for forgeting to mention that. :slow(en): I will try the edit of the .ini file, sounds like that should work. Thanks. Quote

I'm not sure, but I wonder if the dynamic campaign editor is helpful/useful for something like this. Unfortunately, I've only found the v1.05 which when launched in SP4, gives the error that it cannot find the groundobject.ini list. Does anyone know if a version of the DCE >1.05 that is compatible with SP4 exists? Or even a similar editor? On second thought, perhaps I should post this to the mission forum Quote
