+ghostrider883 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 weren't you working on a J-10 model? Quote
Sky Captain Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 If he was, I'll be anticipating that one as well. Awesomely gnausomely super cool thingy. Quote
+allenjb42 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Isn't this a clone of the aborted IAI Lavi? Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Don`t think so, looks like a test version of a special MiG 21 model... Quote
SayethWhaaaa Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Don`t think so, looks like a test version of a special MiG 21 model... Neither that, nor a Lavi clone. This is a unique aircraft that is being developed by China to fit in with it's mass modernisation programs and it's need to be able to compete with the cheap, high technology platforms within the asia pacific (such as F-16, F/A-18, Mig-29, Mirage 2k, etc) and to a lesser degree on the global market. They've recieved quite a bit of support and development from various Israeli defence contractors and even though it looks like the IAI Lavi superficially but it's all new and high tech, but most importantly, it's mostly indigenous. China's making great strides to be on par technically with the rest of the world and with help from IAI, it's been able to do so pretty rapidly. Quote
sonnie Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 i'd prefer Taiwaneese ChingKuo indigenous fighters, combines the deadly F-16 n F/A-18 with more sophisticated technology!!! bet it would be a rival to J-10 if it were to engage in the sky!! Quote

Yeah but the sucka's legless, totally underpowered. Vulnerable during landing and (allegedly) manouvers like a bbq plate with a full load (fuel & moderate weapons load). Although the F-CK is supposed to rectify all this. Shame the new model won't have the dielectric radar-absorbing fuselage. That would have been sweet... Quote
Platinum Rogue Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Chinese groundcrew must be very forgetful if they need 'REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT' flags that big!! Quote
