One of two most likely scenarios:

1) Maintenance (planned or unplanned)

2) This is some kind of stunt to regain ironfisted control of content on forums. Natives have been restless, so they might feel the need to have a new set of padlocks. :dntknw:

Yep, it's back: interestingly enough, minus a couple of locked threads that show that Il Duce and his ilk are still alive and well and masquerading as moderators on that board. I was originally being facetious, but it looks as though I was sadly prophetic in my "prediction".

Abandon any hope of independent thought over at SiegHQ. The topic du jour that you can't dissent against is the latest Ubi copy protection tactic. They've replaced Boonty with it (good move), but apparently the Thought Nazis don't even feel we have a right to discuss if Securom is better or worse.

Well, if not here, where? Certainly not at SiegHQ, where they've decided I no longer have a voice. I'd be all too glad to take it up there and not bother with it here, where it seems to be much less of a problem. But I don't really have that option, do I?

Those of you who take this lightly: be glad your opinion is "close to center" with everyone else's. Because if you dare to have a mind of your own, it's just a matter of time before "someone in charge" decides to just arbitrarily pull rank on you and decide FOR YOU, in no uncertain terms, the limits of what you can think and express.

Tread easy, USAFMTL. You, of all people, certainly know I'm right on this. It'd be nice to see a moderator somewhere with enough backbone and moral fiber to just stand up for what's right, even on something that, in the grand scheme of things, is as relatively unimportant as a Forum. It's the PRINCIPLE involved that's even more important.

I'll step off the soapbox now...

Stiglr, our site will not become your source of grandstanding. I don't even want to talk about the issue with SimHQ. You want to talk about simming, fine. Your issues with SimHQ....no.

Yep...I got backbone...and I'll knock you off that soapbox for a few days. Don't bring it to this forum...period.
