Do any of you skinners use PSP? I'm having trouble figureing out how to make alphas that will work in the SPF series. I'm trying to make number decals for a skin that I've been working on and only need to make the alphas but every attempt to create them seems to not work in game. I know I have to be missing something in PSP but the instructions for creating alphas in the PSP help are quite vague. Assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have PSP 9 and it doesn't handle tga alpha channels (for decals). Black letter codes work alright but coloured squadron markings are a complete muck up.

I seem to remember that PSP 7 does it fine. Before I run out and buy PSP 7 on Amazon, is someone able to confirm that decals work if made with PSP 7?

Thanks

Nice find Lloyd!

I managed to get them to work just fine in PSP6 thanks to the link posted by Sidewinder (Thanks bunches!!) I'm making full color decals and setting up the alphas with no difficulty so far if I follow 2 rules.

1) I make the image I want as the decal using the image background color anywhere I want the aircraft skin to show through, and copy and paste that image as transparent selection to the square canvas for the decal

2) instead of using the magic wand I open the selection tab and click on "invert selection"

I've got 2 projects near completion now, and will be posting them soon :good:
