Hi all!! I've recently accquired a copy of this fantastic sim and have patched it and have NATO fighters one and two running on it from column.5. I also recently downloaded the RAAF F-4E decal package by Nosecone. I've got the decals running alright, but I'm having trouble adding the Sqn and pilot details to the game's files. From the intructions I guess this process is based on Strike Fighters, not WOE. All the folders like Flight folder and pilotdata folder I can open in notepad but when I modified them the game crashed and I had to reload it. Is there any way of opening these folders and modifying them? :dntknw:

Thanks! :biggrin:

What you can do in SF is the same for WOE when fully patched. Where is package located and I take a look at it.

From the package I don't see where you need to edit anything in the pilotdata.ini. You add the squadron data to the squadrondata.ini. Add it to the bottom and replace XXX with the next number in sequence.

[squadronxxx]

Name=RAAF1

DisplayName=No 82 Wing

Nation=Australia <------change this to say Australia instead of RAAF. This will stop it from CTDIng.

You add this to the nations.ini found in your flight folder. Add it to the bottom and replace XXX with the next number in sequence.

[Nationxxx]

Name=RAN

DisplayName=Royal Australian Navy

Alignment=FRIENDLY

PilotNameList=NamesUS.lst

RankList=RanksUSAF.lst

CallsignList=CallsignsUS.lst

Formation.Fighter=USFighter

Formation.Attack=USFighter

Formation.Bomber=USBomber

Formation.Transport=USBomber

Formation.Tank=USTank

Formation.MobileAD=USAD

PilotTrainingStandard=NORMAL

GenderRatio=0

Then save and you should be set.

Cool! Thanks for the feedback. I think I had issues modifiying an *.ini file. Can I just open these with notepad and add the appropriate lines, or do I need some other program to open the file first?

Hi there. I couldn't get this done in my game. Both the Sqn data and Nation data are in a file called missiondata, which is located in the flight folder. The missiondata file is a security catalog, apparently it can only be opened with a crypto shell extensior. I can view it with notepad, but if I modify it, it crashes the game and I have to reinstall it. :sorry:

To open any files with a .cat extension you need to download and install this:

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=343

you then need to extract the file you need and open it with the relevent program - for .ini files Notepad is great.

BTW the files always stay in the .cat file so by extracting the file you only make a copy of it - meaning that you can actually delete the file if you hash it up too much and the game will use the original in the Cat file - or you can just extract it again obviously!
