Whoa, how'd you get your speedbreaks torn off? Did you engage them during a steep dive at high speeds? Whenever I fly SF, I never get a chance to take snapshots of my damage because it seems just one hit, even from a 12mm bullet and the plane explodes.

Actually this was my #3 A/C. I was just panning around and seen the damage, then decided to see what the A.I. did with the situation!!!

Not to sound critical, but the damage model in the S.F. series lacks the attention, it deserves.

The photos where of the Sabres that I have tweeked to end the single bullet kill!!!

Problem is damage is not holes from cannon hits, but missing sections of the a/c to simulate battle damage.

I'm sure with the talent we have here one day the damage models will get the attention it so needs.

The damage model on SF could definately use some tweeking, but some damage is better than none. At least its better than Falcon 4.0 AF where no damage is visible. As you mentioned, there are definately great minds gathered here, it's just a matter of finding time between projects and life obligations.

drdoyo, cool pix! I think there was an actual instance where part of a wing of an Israeli F-15 broke off and the bird was able to land safely. Don't quote me on that thou....

I did some searching came up with the following video courtesy of liveleak. Apparently there was a mid-air collision and the F-15 was able to land with its right wing completely torn off

Yep it's true. I heard about it nearly 10 years ago when I was an Aircraft Structural Mechanic in the Air Guard. I read about it in an Air Force magazine called "Flying Safety" which also had some pics of the jet airborne and on the ground. I just a few months ago finally saw the video. Impressive what McDonnell Douglass made. Too bad they and Grumman are no more due to politics and Corporate America! :sorry:

Also, last night in Operation Tainted Cigar.....

Honest, I didn't abuse the aircraft........I just employed an unusual tactic to defend the fleet against Beagle bombers after shooting all my missiles
