+Laton 4 Posted April 28, 2007 Hi guys, I've had a lot of requests for this in the last day or so She's under way, I'm trying some new techniques and software, mapping components as I go. Should speed things up a bit. If anyone has photo's or drawings of the cockpit they would be very useful. Cheers

+v. Deutschmark 69 Posted April 29, 2007 (S!) ALL hi ;-) Ok all, as you see Laton is doing a Fokker E III, I will be doing skins for it, There will be a factory stock skin with the plane download and 3 add-on skins One of them will be Max Immelman’s E III, do we have any requests for the Other two skins that you would like to see?, if so post in this thread any info You may have on that skins markings. your friend in the FE sky v. +christian59 8 Posted April 29, 2007 a turkish EIII, they were brown and a celular clear fokker may be if is possible to make it
+Laton 4 Posted April 29, 2007 Damn, you guys are good! That should be more than enough. The E.IV is a lot more different than I thought. No real drama though. Was the E.I just a scaled down E.III (or vice versa - however that worked)?
+v. Deutschmark 69 Posted April 29, 2007 (S!) ALL hi ;-) From christian59, (a turkish EIII, they were brown and a celular clear fokker may be if is possible to make it) The Turkish E III you got it! will do it, the clear one no can do The way models are made for FE does not allow it to be done as a skin You would have to make the hole model as a frame to be able to do it. One left any takers? christian59 has his. your friend in the FE sky v. Deutschmark
Gr.Viper 131 Posted April 29, 2007 According to datafiles there was attempt to make E.III invisible by using transparent plastic instead of fabric. Can you do it?
+v. Deutschmark 69 Posted April 29, 2007 (S!) ALL hi ;-) Sorry Viper as my post above says the hole model would need to be done As a frame like the real plane every rib every spar. your friend in the FE sky v. Deutschmark
Gr.Viper 131 Posted April 29, 2007 Oh.. sry, didn't notice it. Can transparency be created with alpha channel on texture? Non-transparent skin where ribs are and nearly invisible in other places..
+v. Deutschmark 69 Posted April 29, 2007 (edited) (S!) ALL hi ;-) @Viper, yes but you would not get the effect you would need to make it look right. When looking at a rib you would see the top and the bottom but not the rib it self You would need to have a rib made with a face right and left side and that goes for All the skeleton parts of the plane, or you would not see the pilot, interior, nothing. And if you did make a hole plane skeleton, you would end up doing a hole lot of Work for just one skin of that plane and not be able to put another skin on it, just To do a clear one of maybe 1 or 2 or so that where done that way. So is there any takers for the last skin that you would like to see for the release of this plane? your friend in the FE sky v. Deutschmark Edited April 29, 2007 by v. Southside Bucky 1 Posted April 29, 2007 (edited) Hi Deutschmark. How about Udet's 105/15 ? Thee's a colour profile in the E.III Windsock Datafile (No.15). There's a photo of it on page 3. The red sash is conjectural, and may have been black. It probably had a black rudder too. Also, the crosses are the earlier, slightly more curved style, and note the extra cross on the top fuselage decking. Regards. Bucky. +v. Deutschmark 69 Posted April 29, 2007 (S!) ALL hi ;-) @ Bucky, ok Udet’s E III it is! So we will have for skins for the release for the Fokker E III, Factory stock skin, with the plane download. Max Immelman’s E III, add-on skin. Turkish EIII, add-on skin. Udet's E III, add-on skin. your friend in the FE sky v. Deutschmark
sfabert 0 Posted April 29, 2007 The E.IV is a lot more different than I thought. No real drama though. Was the E.I just a scaled down E.III (or vice versa - however that worked)? Plans for the EI are on their way to you via email.
Firecage 1 Posted April 29, 2007 Hmm whats this here on the ground ... hmm a request about some plane called the Halberstadt. Someone must have dropped it that was going to send to laton or something like that. Let me see if I can cram it in the mailbox ... damn its full.... I will just tape it here on the side of the mailbox
MOUNTAIN-MAN 0 Posted April 29, 2007 Fokker EI, starts the "fokker scourge", 80 h.p. engine, handles decently, needs more power = EII, 100h.p. engine, faster but the extra weight of the engine hurts the handling = EIII, extend the wingspan, and the length, same 100h.p. engine, kicks the " fokker scourge" into overdrive.. allies retaliate with the DH2 & the Bebe = EIV, twin 80 h.p. engines, twin MGs, tho some of the IIIs had them also, all that extra weight kills the handling, oops, end of the fokker scourge.........Makes one wonder what would have happened if the germans had allowed Fokker access to their fine Mercedes engines, as he kept begging for all this time, just how much longer this fine little aircraft could have held onto its air superiority in the war???????? I thankfully commend you guys on all the effort and research your putting into this project, and if whoever does the F.M.s gets it right, on all three planes, this will be one of the most important historical addons in ANY WW1 sim! Throw in the first ever SP3 as icing on this delicious cake.....This is way past exciting M-M
+Laton 4 Posted April 30, 2007 (edited) OK, Looks like the relese schedule will go like this: E.III E.I/E.II(?) E.IV Based on differences and how much extra modelling/changes will be needed. The SP.3 will be out sometime soon, then the Fokker's followed by the Strutter and the H-B D1 after that. Peter01 will be doing the FM's for the Fokkers, I know he's been working up a few tweaks for the MS/Pfalz family as well. I'm out of town for a few days at a conference (damn real-life intruding on my hobby ) so if i don't reply to PM's or email for a few days thats why. Bandy 3 Posted May 1, 2007 (edited) Some good pit photos. It may be hard to tell from here, but that is brushed metal. Should make for a very interesting texture. Let me know if these suffice, or I can get you the reference. Edited May 1, 2007 by B Bandy RFC
